As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:

It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.

I know I am being petty, But I really hate it when I always get asked
"How are you feeling today"
I have tried over & over again to explain I never feel great, Chronic pain is just that.. Chronic!!!!!!!
I always hurt, every day, every hour, every minute...
The only difference is the degree of pain which depends on how much meds I have taken..
So, How do you feel about health questions?
I stopped answering those kind of questions with honesty a LONG time ago....i also have Fibromyalgia/Chronic Fatigue so i know exactly how you feel. It's been my experience that most people are asking out of politeness and aren't really interested in the answer, so i fib and reply "fine, and you?" Most people don't have an understanding of chronic pain conditions unless they've lived it, even my own husband "forgets" that i have pain 24/7! Hang in there...

I don't get that question. I get asked "how is your back". Mainly from my AP friends at DL. I don't mind it since they have been my friends since before my back problem.
I guess it's the fact that I never feel well & family members know it. So I hate being asked how I feel.. It gets really depressing having to remind them I hurt all the time & don't like to be reminded..
I am cranky today..
I don't have chronic problems and I too just answer any "how are you today" questions with "good" or "fine". Even if I am having problems, they're my problems and I'm not open to sharing them, or explaining them, etc.
My typical answer is "I am blessed. How are you?" There are people I know that ask just in conversation, and there are others who really do wish to know how things are going. With them, it depends on where we are if I elaborate or not...but no matter what when I answer "I'm blessed." I am not lying, even if I am not sharing everything.
There is teh social version which I respond with fine or OK. Most times they ask that question of people who are not disabled also.
If it is someone I know who is concerned then I might go into detail.Thank God that some people actually care about me or Mom and are truly concerned about our health.

I know what you mean, having 2 disinigrating discs and 2 herniated ones, fibromyalgia and as if that wasn't enough I was just recently diagnosed with the beginning stages of Lupos. So I get asked everyday, even though they dont really wanna know the answer how do I feel. I have started recently when someone asks how do you feel? I ask if they really really wanna know, if they say yes I ask them to step in front of a bus and they will know the pain for themselves and I won't have to explain how I feel! That usually works for a while and when they ask a week later I ask if they walked in front of the bus yet? lol Just be brutually honest the questions soon die off! Good luck!!!
If you're being asked by people who know you have problems, then you can just answer:
"The pain's about a 6 out of 10 today." Rate your pain. Tell them how many meds and what the dosages of those meds you took today just to function were. They'll either stop asking, or start understanding it's on-going.
I have been dealing with chronic pain since I was a kid and all I can say is find a a way that you can enjoy the fact that people are concerned. It does go away after a while. I spend most of my time fighting through it so I can have some sense of normalcy and people assume because I have found a way to function like they do that my pain is gone.
Don't let your mind go to the place where you are wondering if they expect you to be "all better" or that they define you by your disease. I am willing to bet most haven't put that much thought into it.
