has anyone had a "person" in their life like this???? Need To VENT!!(might be long) - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

has anyone had a "person" in their life like this???? Need To VENT!!(might be long)
I'm sure everyone has had a "person" in their life like I currently have. Now let me explain a little so ya'll can better understand why I am so UPSET!!! This "person" was at one time MY VERY BEST FRIEND, I have known her for 6 1/2 yrs now, We were best friends more like sisters in High School, we event went to college together & got our first apt together, got our first cars together, made varsity softball together, in short we were just about always together If one of us did something the other did it. In the beg. of 08' she started to change, to sum it up My Fiance and I got pregnant like 2 months after we got engaed (not planned but welcomed), well about 4 months later my Bff calls screaming so EXCITED she was preg too! & to my suprise she tells me she wants a boy Beacuse I am having one! I was like omg it kinda disturbed me, because she has never been the type of person to do or want something just because someone else wants it. I see this is getting long so basicly after her son was born she started doing EVERYTHING tht I would do for my son & at first I was like ok she is just excited, but then it started feeling weird she started do everything i would do the EXACT same way, I began to feel like she was trying to be me or live the exact same life I had, & I didn't feel comfortable with tht so one day I had the final draw & said enough is enough and Cut all ties with her. Now Wat I am rly upset by & at the same time I feel like such a BAD person Is Her & her BF just took their son to disney world for 1 day, & she came back & said omg I got engaged infront of Cinderella's Castle!!! Now tht was a Knife tru my heart because It has always been my dream to have a Disney World Wedding or at least a Disney theamed wedding. & We sacrificed our dream wedding (ok ok MY dream wedding) for a simple court house wedding with a small family reception inored to do the right thing for our son & make sure we could be ready for his arrival Now dnt get me wrong I was happy to do what I felt was the right thing for my son, & of course DH doesn't understand why this has UPSET me so much, But every little girl dreams about her wedding & I wanna be happy for my once BFF but its rly hard when I feel like she is simply rubbing my face in this & the fact tht she is gonna have the wedding & I didn't get mine.
I'M SOOOO SORRY THIS IS LONG BUT I JUST HAD TO VENT ABOUT THIS IT HAS BEEN BOTHERING ME BADLY SINCE SUNDAY NIGHT WE SHE GAVE ME THE NEWS!!!
*please forgive me if I have sp. things wrong I had to get it out!
Sounds like she's actually always wanted to do what you did - it just didn't bother you or occur to you that was what was going on!
I understand what you mean, but at the same time - you have a DH who wanted to marry you before you got Pg. and has stayed around. Her fiance obviously wasn't compelled to get married before now. I'd take a man of integrity and honor over a romantic man any day.
Maybe you can plan a 5 or 10 year WDW anniversary.
Pixies for you. It's tough to be jealous, and yet know you wouldn't have it any other way. (I'd have cut ties with her way before you did - but I'm not known to be exceedingly nice!)
you can probably do vows renewal at one of the cruises, with Gown and all
they have the service and it would be so different and romantic! so even if she does the cinderella Castle thing you can do the cruise! they do the cake, you bring a gorgeous gown and take pictures, then go for the champagne brunch.
It will be unique. be careful with her, it sounds she has a problem with Envy and that is bad.
Since you cut her from you life earlier, I would wonder why she told you what
she did. Other then that I would just take a look around you and embrace the
life that you have. Enjoy your DH and DS and plan for some amazing WDW trips
that will last longer than 1 day.
DH and I did a vow renewal and then a honeymoon at Disney for our 5 year anniversary. We were married in Misawa, Japan at the base courthouse. It can be just as magical later, and it will be. I agree with others and say you should try to go with a vow renewal later on. You and your husband did the right thing for your life, and it sounds like you know what you want in your life. It is sad that your "friend" doesn't, and even though it makes you (and it would me too) uncomfortable, imitation is the highest for of flattery. Just be careful...envy is a bad thing in a friendship.

We have been talking about doing some sort of WDW vow renual.
& I'm with you on the man of Intergrity over the romance.
I would have cut her along time ago rather than just months ago, but I kept holding on to all the yrs of freindship we had until I saw myself being so uncomfortable & couldn't take it.

That's what I am wondering as well, The only thing I can think of is that she is doing it to try and be spiteful, or just rub my face in it.
Thanks, I do Love the life that I have been blessed with & I'm happy everyday that DH & I made the choice we did for our DS.
LOL I have an amazing Dec Trip to plan for next year!
thanks!
