Forums Closed
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.

So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.

Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.

And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.

We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.

There are other changes as well.

Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:

We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.

It's time to move on and move forward.

PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.

But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.

So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.

And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.

That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!

If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.

So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Best wishes for a wonderful and magical new year!

Finding Nemo Happy Meal toys

So has anyone gotten the Happy Meal toys yet? My DS got the Dory toy and it's driving me NUTS! Apparently she speaks "whale" at one point in the movie, and the toy makes the same noise. It was kind of amusing the first 300 times, but it's just not so funny anymore!

Re: Finding Nemo Happy Meal toys

Totally hear you! DD who is autistic, for some reason, has latched on to that toy and has had it in her posession all day. Last night, she was up in her room and I got up about 4 am to go "potty"- walked by her room - it was quiet and then all of a sudden I heard that noise and I jumped it scared me so! Movie looks adorable but the toys are a little strange looking- especially the blowfish looking one that lights up red.

Re: Finding Nemo Happy Meal toys

DS got the Nemo one the other day. It took us a full 2 days to figure out how it worked. Finally, DS, who is 10 months old, gets it to work all by himself. It has this creepy laugh...

We asked for the Happy Meal Fisher Price toy for younger kids, but got the Nemo toy anyway.

Re: Finding Nemo Happy Meal toys

OK--I'm 27, and have been walking around all day with my Nemo "Dory" toy. I LOVE it!!

I showed my DBF the toy last night, and the first thing that he said was, "I bet this drives parents up a wall." Guess he's right!

So far, I have Gill and Dory. I REALLY want Squirt and Nemo. Hmmm....must eat more Happy Meals....

Re: Finding Nemo Happy Meal toys

I got my first "Nemo" toy today! I wanted to GET Nemo...but they only had "Bloat" the blowfish.

I'm not a McDonald's person, but when I see a nifty/cute collection, I'm hooked.

I plan to call around tomorrow untill I can locate Nemo, Squirt, and Dory! Wish me luck!

P.S. I'm 23 years old...so I know this is a sad, pitiful thing.

My coworker just dropped a Nemo off on my desk and I'm thrilled! I have Dorie already, and really want the blowfish!

Good luck with your collecting!

Re: Finding Nemo Happy Meal toys

Okay, add me to the sad and pitiful list! I am 36 and I just got the blowfish toy! I could not understand the wierd picture directions! I wish they'd put words on it. (I know they must use this universally in all countries and don't want to put the writing, but "wahhh!") Anyway, I would love to get Dory that speaks whale!! I thought that was one of the funniest parts of the movie! I hope I didn't miss it at my McDonald's already! how sad am I?? (I do have an 11 year old son that is my "excuse" for my behavior!) "Oh, it's for my son!" Yeah, right...

Re: Finding Nemo Happy Meal toys

Make that another Sad & Pitiful thing. So far my DD & I have Nemo, Dory, Gill, Bloat & I just got Pearl today. We had both watched the trailers on the webpage so many times that when we saw the movie, DH threatened us to keep our mouths shut. He knew if probably drove us crazy.

There were many scenes we knew by heart even before seeing the movie. Can't wait to get the rest of the toys.

Re: Finding Nemo Happy Meal toys

Add me to the list And you're deffinitely not alone with the Happy Meal toys. McDonalds is pretty psyched about em too.

McDonalds Stock Surges on Rise in Sales:
Quote:
McDonald's on Friday reported its first worldwide gain in comparable sales in 15 months, as new salads and children's Happy Meals spurred robust U.S. sales, and its shares rose to nine-month highs.
<font size="2" face="Comic Sans MS, Arial">And 'Nemo' Happy Meals Provide a Lift for McDonalds:

Quote:
"Finding Nemo" from Walt Disney Co. and Pixar broke all box office opening records for an animated feature, and McDonald's said that its Nemo Happy Meal launched May 30 is setting records of its own.
<font size="2" face="Comic Sans MS, Arial">"Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine!" Brilliant!

Re: Finding Nemo Happy Meal toys

Sigh... sad & pitiful here, too! And I thought I was the only one having problems with the vague picture directions! DS (who's 4) is the one that figured out that they all squirt water!

He's happily playing upstairs in the tub with Dory, Bloat, Gill and Marlin. Still trying to find Nemo, though!

Re: Finding Nemo Happy Meal toys

Add my DH to the "sad" list. He's on a quest. If he could get the kids Happy Meals every night so he could get all these toys, he would. We've now got Squirt (2), Pearl, Gill, Bloat, and Marlin. Only 3 to go, can we do it???? I'm sure we'll be there at least 2 more times this week!!

Re: Finding Nemo Happy Meal toys

Add me to the list too! We've got 2 Squirts and 2 Marlins. At least I think the clownfish with the creepy laugh is Marlin and not Nemo, my DD who's 5 argues with me saying it's got to be Nemo! LOL We really want to find Dory, though!

Re: Finding Nemo Happy Meal toys

Marlin and Nemo both seem to have creepy laughs!
but Nemo is more roundish, Marlin is longer.
Plus Nemo has the one small fin, right?
I'll have to check them out now. I want that Dory..and maybe Bloat too. and Squirt.
