As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:

It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!

She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.

Ok, I know there's a complimentary taxi service for those that are staying at a WDW resort to the golf course... but how does that work... do we call the service the day of the golf ressie and make sure they pick up?
My dad has a Golf Reservation at Eagle Pines @4pm during our vacation... he wants to get a couple hours on the driving range before hand so he will want to be there around 1:30-2pm... we have an ADR for whispering canyon at 1030am that same day. We're staying at the Coronado springs... does he need to be picked up from THAT hotel, or can he be picked up at Wilderness lodgE?
We have used the free taxi service from WL many times to get to the golf course. However, we have always been staying at the WL when we have done this. I am not sure if they are allowed to offer the same service for a guest that is staying at another hotel. One question that I have is; will he have his own clubs? If he does, he would need to take them with him. If not, he could take the bus to Fort Wilderness and walk from there to the course; it is only about a half mile or so. If you want to try to get the free taxi from WL, I would recommend that you talk to the bell desk at the hotel you are staying and see if they can give him a voucher for the taxi from WL to the course (the voucher is how the taxi gets paid and it is written by the bell desk of the hotel). Good luck with the transportation, it would be a shame for him to have to go all the way back to the CS to get the taxi as WL is so much closer to Eagle Pines then CS.
hmmmmmm we're going in June... I'd be afraid of him getting overheated walking... he's fit as a fiddle, but the less heat the better (we're from Alaska and I don't care what he says he's not up for all of that humidity! LOL)
and yes he is bringing his own golf clubs (he went out and paid over 100 bucks for new grips JUST FOR THIS TRIP )

My DH has always called bell services at the hotel where we are staying to arrange for a cab - maybe if you call bell services at your hotel and explain the situation, they can help arrange for him to be picked up at another hotel?
I believe that you need to get a voucher from Guest Services...probably as soon as you can after check-in. Then it is your responsiblity to call Guest Services at least one half hour prior to your tee time to call for your taxi.

I would have your dad go back to the Coronado resort, since his clubs would be there, and check in with bell services. They will give him a voucher for the Taxi, hail the taxi, and then bring his clubs out.
Before you leave your home resort to go to WL....you might want to let bell services know that he will be back to p/u his clubs so they can have them up front. Also when you check into your resort, have bell services hold the clubs so they won't take up space in your room and ask the front desk/bell services any questions you might have.
My DH loved the service he got when he golfed at Disney. The club house cleaned his clubs, shoes, etc. and were very helpful and friendly.
