As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Hi! I'm Melissa. I am new here to this forum. I 'have been' scrapboooking for 4 years. The reason it is in quotes is because none of my scrapbooks are done. I have a hard time cutting up my pictures, so a page takes me a good day or two to get done. Then since I don't feel like I am accomplishing anything, I put it aside for awhile. I have also been working on my wedding album for those four years. I had wanted it done this past Nov for our 15th anniversary, but guess what, it is not done.
So we (dh, myself, ds-14, dd-7, & dd-5) are all going to WDW for our first time. I was afraid that I would take all these pictures and once again be very overwhelmed with the entire scrapbooking project. To avoid that I made my album up ahead of time (120 pgs-actually 2 albums) and I am requiring my sister to "make" me put the photos in the album within the first 2 weeks of our return.
Here is hoping this will give me some momentum-actually having a finished project-to get my other. Anyway, thought I would introduce myself, share something, and hope to learn a lot.
Wow! I am sooo like you--- I have 4 or 5 different albums (non include WDW or other trips ---yet) started and NOTHING is done . I take a long time too to do my pages, get overwhelmed, etc... Anyways, to get an album done--- how great is that!!! I hope you do fill them up fast --- w/in the first 2 weeks, eh?!! and let us know how they turned out!! to the boards--- it's VERY ADDICTIVE HERE! --- Thus the reason you may not get it w/in 2 weeks, but maybe a month... You'll be here when you could be doing the pages
Great job preparing!!! Just remember - you don't have to include every photo - those "blurry" ones are not gonna become clear 2 years from now, the ones where the eyes are closed - I promise you their eyes won't open tomarrow either! The ones that you should crop - those darn people that get in your way for that perfect shot! Hint to take some pressure out - prior to sitting in front of your album, go through your stacks of photos and organize them however you wish (I usually do it by park/character meal/etc for Disney) and then pick the photos you like best and crop them ahead of time if you can - then place them in your album! you can do this organizing/cropping sitting in front of the tv - it works well for me! Good luck and have a magical time!

Welcome to the boards! Don't be too hard on yourself. I'm currently working on 2 albums. Our Christmas 2004 WDW trip album (have to have it done before our next trip this fall!) and our family album (from when DD was 2yo - she's now 8). I think your idea to make up the album before you go is a good idea, as is having your sister encourage you. I like to crop with friends, and sometimes go to a crop with others, like at my local scrapbook store.

Looking forward to another Christmas with The Mouse!!
I have two albums I'm currently actively working on, two waiting in the wings ready to get started, and ideas bouncing around in my head for several more....Will I ever get them finished? Well, I've managed to get some done - my wedding album, a Hallowe'en album that only took me one day - it just flew together, and Volume One of MouseFest 2004 (which will probably end up as at least three volumes!). I have some albums which are earmarked for specific projects, when I get the pictures printed that will go into them. And I have pictures that I have no idea what I'm going to do with - yet - but something down the road will come along and off I'll go....

Welcome to the boards! Everyone here sounds way more ambitious about scrap booking than I am... I don't cut pictures up or any of that jazz. I just put sassy backgrounds behind my pictures.. maybe that isn't really scrap booking but rather glorified photo album? Either way: I AM LAME! I get different sizes of prints from an online store (even some 8x10's - a whole page dedicated to one picture. I am such a cheater!) and just slap them in there and later get stickers, ribbons and stuff as I find them.
Did you know, Melissa, that there is a scrap booking store in DTD?? Well, at least, there used to be. Sorry if someone else said told you that already but yeah, you can get ideas and Disney theme merchandise - they even help you make complete pages! It's great fun and rarely have I been there when it is busy. You should check it out if you find yourself at DTD on your trip!

Welcome! Looking forward to seeing some of your layouts!!
I think it's more common than you think to have several started projects. I just finished up 3 albums that I had "mostly done but not quite done". It was such a good feeling. Now I can start my last WDW trip and be caught up before going again! Then, all I need to do is 12 years of kids photos, my wedding album (married 20 years ago)...
