10 Nights of Magic in The Orlando Trifecta-TR - COMPLETE!! 12/10 - Page 91 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

All caught up!! Your evening around Crescent Lake sounds perfect!! It is the most picturesque IMHO of the resort areas!! I am so happy that you got a chance to try Abracadabar, Dave!! Truly my favorite place to have a drink!! Your FF dinner sounds wonderful and glad you also got the chance to go to the Bellevue Lounge as I know how much you love that place!! Sorry about ToT but your last day worked out nicely!! One thing we did miss on this trip was heading into Epcot so easily!! As always, beautiful photos!!!
I loved Abracadabar and Bellevue very much and enjoyed my time at both places! Crescent Lake is so beautiful at night and why I love these walks back to my resort. FF was a great meal and enjoyed it overall. I think Studios wasn't meant to be but it all worked out for me!

My TR from my most recent trip is now underway. Includes: Universal Studios Florida, Disney World and Sea World Orlando Trifecta TR -Updated December 10th! TR is now COMPLETED!
Saturday, October 14th (Part II) I walked inside Spice Road Table and checked in for my 12:20 pm ADR. The CM asked me whether I wanted to dine indoors or outdoors and since it was quite hot already, indoors would be better. Although, at night it may be better to dine outside with a lake view table for Illuminations.
I like the look and colors of the bar
I was escorted to my table by a CM in the back looking out towards World Showcase Lagoon. I asked about being seated at a window, but the CM said they were reserved. I still had a view of the lagoon, which wasn’t too bad. Not all of these booths by the window would be filled during my meal and they probably didn’t seat me at one as they’re for parties of four. Not a big deal.

My server came by who was quite good and went over the menu with me and shared some of his personal favorites. I looked it over and ordered a beverage. My server recommended the Sangria and I went with that.
It looks good and was!
When my server returned with my Sangria I made my choices and went with a couple of appetizers instead of a main course as they sounded more interesting. One of these I decided on is flavored with chili peppers and I told my server that I hope it’s not too spicy. He assured me it wasn’t as they’re used for flavoring rather than heat. I like a little bit of spice but not to the extent in which your mouth and insides are on fire!
I think there may have been some bread to accompany my meal but I didn’t make a note of it or have photos. Shortly, my first course arrived.
Stuffed Spanish Red Peppers with Tuna Salad and Moroccan Potato Salad
This had quite a variety of flavors and quite enjoyable. The potato salad may have been even better than the tuna salad but both were very good. I took my time eating it as I liked it so much. Stalling for time also made my Sangria go quicker as well, so I ordered another one.
My server cleared my plate and returned with another Sangria and soon after that my second appetizer. This one was my favorite of the two.
Spicy Sauteed Shrimp with Dried Chilies and Fried Garlic
This was exceptional and I enjoyed it so much. It had some heat in it but nothing overwhelming. Probably, about the amount of heat you get with Shrimp Scampi as I think that’s a good comparison.
My server came by and I told him how good everything was. It’s not what I expected of Moroccan cuisine as when I was in Morocco, it wasn’t nearly as good and flavorful as what I had at Spice Road Table! He asked me if I’d be having dessert and I told him I wouldn’t but would have an expresso and a Grand Marnier. I usually don’t have a drink after my meal during lunch, but since I’m going home shortly, why not!
While I waited for my beverage, I got some photos of the room, which is quite nice and has good theming to it.
A very sunny day out on World Showcase Lagoon
My expresso
Once I was finished I settled my bill. The cost was very reasonable, even with the beverages. The cuisine was enjoyable and exceptional. This is a gem at Epcot as well as WDW and my room was about half full, but could be because of lunchtime as I had a 12:20 pm ADR. Then again it’s Moroccan cuisine and many people are apprehensive and/or unfamiliar with it. I will certainly be back and hopefully soon. A great spot and choice for lunch!
I was done with my meal and it was time to walk back to the Dolphin and wait for my pickup to the airport. It was around 1:45 pm and my reservation time is at 2:35 pm.
NEXT: The Sad Walk Back!

It was such a good meal and enjoyed it so much as a great way to end my trip! Certainly helped with Cherly's great review of this prior in her TR as I had been up in the air about it. No more as I plan to return for sure!

Your meal looked wonderful! I've only eaten at the counter service restaurant in Morocco but after your review and Cheryl's, I think we might give it a try on a future trip! I can't believe your TR is coming to an end. As it will be your last TR on Passporter, I just wanted to say thanks for taking us along on your WDW trips all these years. I know you've signed up for Facebook and hopefully will continue future TR's over there, but with the close of PP coming soon, it just feels like the end of an era for us old timers.
Your meal looks delicious! Spice Road Table looks lovely, and is on my list of places to try some day. I’ve eaten at Restaurant Marrakesh and enjoyed that!
So glad you enjoyed your meal at Spice Road Table! But no chocolate pyramid for dessert? Oh my goodness, you really missed out. That thing is amazing!
Glad I dined there as such a good meal. Now you're making me feel guilty! I guess there's next time!

Great day but time is winding down on my trip! I think you'll enjoy SRT.

I think you'd enjoy SRT and it's quite reasonable for a WDW TS eatery.
This will be my last TR on this board! Glad I could share these with everyone here as I've enjoyed doing these. I plan on doing these over on FB after New Years. I believe it's the end of an era as well! I still have two more updates left on this TR.

Nice lunch Dave. We really enjoyed the garlic shrim also when we dined there.
I enjoyed SRT so much and the shrimp is a winner!

It was a great lunch and plan to return! I've never dined at RM as it's community seating. I've heard mixed reviews on the food but heard the show is good.
