As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

I'm so glad I found your PTR/TR!! Glad to hear everything worked out with the resort change & you got all your ressies!!! Can't wait to hear how Josie reacts when she finds out your going
OMG - I think your little guy is a twin with my youngest...or maybe I was simply spoiled by my oldest. He never climbed out of his crib, was never difficult to get to sleep and transitioned to a toddler bed exactly two weeks before his brother made a surprise early arrival.
Patrick climbed out of the crib at 18 months, so we moved him to a toddler bed (plus we needed the crib for Cullen's arrival).
Cullen? He BROKE his crib. I'd put him down for his nap (he was just shy of 18 months). I heard a loud crash, a louder wail and ran into his room to find him standing on his mattress looking at the ground where the side of his crib was laying. Patrick looked at me and said "he broked the side trying to climb back in after he'd got out". After a bit more prodding, Patrick revealed that Cullen had been climbing in and out for a few days.
Cullen's also the one who has figured out how to pop open the child safety latch on our porch door (he did this because he wanted to swim and didn't want to wait anymore), he's gotten into the garage to bring basketballs into the house, he's let the cat out of the front door, and the neighbor in. He keeps us on our toes

That reminds me of my youngest son!!!! We were visiting Colonial Williamsburg and had gone back to the motel to swim. My oldest was watching the youngest one while I did a couple of laps to cool off. I had just turned around at the deep end of the pool to see my youngest(3 years old) STANDING ready to jump into the pool. I knew if I yelled at him or even his brother could frighten him so I tore across the pool swimming as hard as I could. I reached that end just in time to keep his head from going under. AND HE WANTED TO GET OUT AND DO IT AGAIN!!!! We went into the motel room!!! and I never tried to do laps AGAIN!!
Glad the bed situation is going ok. I had to laugh when you were talking about nap time, one of my co-workers has a daughter, she just turned two. Well lately when she wakes up from her nap she calls out to let her parents know she is awake...well now everytime my co-worker goes in she says "no daddy, not you...mommy" so he has to go out of the room and have his wife go in. Of course she laughs when she does it so she knows what she is doing but I just found it too funny.
I think the bedrail decision is a good one...definitely better than Mr. Andre deciding it is time to climb out the pack n play and run around.
Love the idea of the scavenger hunt to let Josie know you are going. I think it will be so much fun. Angel is very happy you like the book...she said not to worry she will make one for Andre when he is bigger too
Sounds like some great plans are in the works! I'm glad the transition into the toddler bed is working out with Andre and that he was okay after the fall!
All caught up now. You're plans sound great. I know all too well about boys climbing out of their cribs, lol. I feel your pain. Love the scavenger hint idea.
You have to admit, life with kids is never dull! I think you could totally rock the support hose. Maybe start a new fashion trend? After all, nude is the new black!

You probably think I'm stalking your TR, but I had just noticed you posted right after I did, so I thought I'd just jump right back on here real quick. First, I'm happy to hear the bed issue is going ok. Hope was never a climber either, so I have no advice to offer, but keep up he good work.
I love the idea of a scavenger hunt, and I think it's so sweet of our fellow PPers to send you those sweet gifts. I know she will love her surprises.
As for your vein, I'm happy to here it can be taken care of and that you're going to try and make a fashion statement out of your granny inspired circulation stockings. Knee high boots might work. Also, Photoshop is a life saver. You can say good-bye to that little beauty of a vein with a click of your mouse..voila! Did you know that in those beach photos I just posted I originally had really bad tan lines? Yeah, I got rid if those suckers real quick.
Yeah this whole "climber" thing is new to me too
I'll see what I can come up with to remedy these granny tights

I love all the ideas for how to tell Josie about the trip. I was going to try and send a postcard the first day we're there in hopes it would make it to you before you left.
That's sweet, but really that is the last thing you need to be dealing with on your first day.

How sweet that Meg's Angel and the other PPers sent gifts for Josie. The scavenger hunt should be fun!
Angel's gift was the sweetest, I can't wait to give it to Josie.

WOW....that's crazy. You sure do have your hands full. Josie was a breeze compared to my "baby"

HAHAHAHA…….so all of you were so hilarious about my “granny tights” I thought I would give you a few more laughs. The compression socks the DR ordered me to get are fine. I wear them around the house, working out and that’s about it. My leg really doesn’t bother me, unless I’m doing some hard core walking or standing, but this is weird because at work I’m walking and standing quite a bit, in heels too, and my leg doesn’t bother me then. However the next morning it does. So anywhoo…..this would be a pic I sent off to Dawn the day I got the pretty socks…….oh, and I do believe it was on my birthday, or the day before! Yeah!! Happy Old Birthday to me!!!
Now here is what I came up with to satisfy all of you comedians out there!!!
Pretty right?? No?? Yes?? This would be more my speed if I really did “have” to wear them in public. But I’m not, so no worries.
Moving on………….I mentioned the word “lazy” quite a bit so far in this PTR and with keeping my word to that I am repeating our old MNSSHP costumes. Arnaud created shirts for us when we went to the party in 2010 and I was pregnant. At the time I wasn’t sure what size shirt Josie would be fitting in to, so I ordered a 2T and a 4T, well I kept them both and as it turns out, she can fit into the 4T and Andre fits into the 2T and that’s just how it’s gonna roll. I think the shirts are super cute and comfy, and since the hubs made the logo…..I’m sticking with it. My plan for us going as Mary P, Bert, Jane and Michael Banks will just have to wait a few more years.
Now, I know in the past I have talked about how “non-crafty” I am, so this next bit should surprise you. I bought today a label maker and I have been going bananas on labeling all our travel size toiletries for the trip. ALSO, I have made all the little clue cards for the big reveal. I am now calling it a “treasure hunt” because after each clue, Josie is getting another clue, plus an old treasure from a past Disney trip OR a new one altogether. Now I came up with these little clues one day while I was in the middle of making lunch and playing with the kids. I thought they weren’t so bad until my brain whiz hubs says…..they are so sweet, BUT they are not Iambic Pentameter??!!??!?? WHAT I’m not even sure what language he is speaking there……CAM, are you reading this? Can you help me out here with a witty comeback for that one?? Phooey on you Arnaud…………I’ll share what I came up with to you fine folks. Now keep in mind, the first part is the clue, followed by where it will be located and what the treasure will be, “ This is where we play dinosaur, head out there to see if you can find something more” Cherry tree out front- Disney Bucket
“Mommy’s favorite flowers are pink and sometimes blue; go over there to find your next clue” Hydrangas-1900PF placemat
“In this room we used to play “tea” look around in there to see what the next treasure will be” Tea room- light up Disney glass
“This is where Stitch sleeps like a baby, head up there to find something cool….maybe??” her room- Disney lanyard with new pins
“ We put a countdown here to get us excited for special things, go to that spot to find what all of this brings” Kitchen – countdown calendar with Autograph book and World Passport
Well I love the clues... and I think they rhythm perfectly. Josie is going to have such a fun time hunting of her clues. I love the socks by the way...very retro cool.
Hey Linny! Glad to hear you'll be joining us in a little over a month! Bring rain wear--I don't think there has been a day that hasn't had a thunderstorm in a month! I'd love to meet you and your fam if you have time!
