Dream of Lifetime TR Sept 23-Oct 5 **COMPLETE!! 9/14** - Page 9 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

I was literally right next to you hold my baby girl, feeding her then both of our families got on the same monorail. So now I'm saying hiand if it wasn't for the pictures I wouldn't have recognized you! Hope you had a magical trip!

Monday Sept 22
I still need to pack. I had everything gathered up but not pack in any matter what so ever. Therefore, I finally finished packing my suitcases exactly 12 hours before we leave for the airport at 3:45am. We had to take the dog to the kennel & got supper out because lets face it who wants to cook & clean up the night before your vacation. After supper, we had all of the luggage out on the front sidewalk to be loaded.
We took video of loading up my grandma’s Blazer because it the only vehicle that holds the entire luggage. Along with pictures which I am posting.
Since we fly SW we are still allowed 2 suitcases & a carry on. My dad actually packs his medium size suitcase with all of his stuff & puts it inside of his large suitcase so we will have more room for stuff to come back in. After we loaded the Blazer, we gathered up all of the trash to be put out before we left. I thought we would all go to bed early. That was not the case. I think I went into bed around 10:30 but could not fall asleep right away. My parents ended up watching most of CSI so they went to bed late too.
Tuesday Sept 22 My alarm went off at 2:20am I bounced out of bed because I was so excited. I water all of my plants & put out some new air fresheners. I started to get ready & the rest of family was getting up. I check the flight to make sure there was no set backs. Along with the airport security checkpoint. We were supposed to leave at 3:45am but it was a little after 4:00am when we were heading out the drive. We had an uneventful trip to the parking place that we use. We got there at 4:50 am got checked in & headed to the airport. After checking our bags, we went inside & the security line was next to nothing. I could not even believe it. We headed to McDonald’s to get breakfast before we headed to our flight.
We got to our gate at a little after 6:00am I pulled out the laptop to see if I could get on & update a little bit but couldn’t get it to find the wifi. About 6:25 am, we started to load on our Shamu plane.
We had an uneventful flight with 42 people onboard. We did get to see the sunrise from the plane, which was a great experience.
The Florida Coastline
We ended up getting to Orlando 15 mins early. After unloading from the plane & making a pit stop, we headed to DME. Along the way, we ran into a Disney guy who happened to be from a town 15 mins away from where we live. After a little chat with him & giving out our first CM appreciation card, we headed down to check in for DME. There was only 3 other people in line when my mom got in line. We got into the line for Polynesian & were excited.
I cannot wait to get to our hotel. Our bus was only half-full & the Poly was the first stop. We got to the Poly by 10:30am it was so nice. Once we got inside there was two people being waited on & we were next. We stepped up to the front desk & got everything rolling. Our room was not ready yet. We were told that we got our request of 3rd floor in Tokelau so we decided to walk down to the pool area. We sat there for a while. It was so beautiful & we could see the castle from the table we were sitting at.
Shayne actually changed & went swimming it was a beautiful day. It was about 85 out sunny with a nice breeze. We sat around the table with all of our carry-ons & watched Shayne swim in the Volcano pool.
It started to spit a few drops & then the sky opened up. We try to gather up everything to head inside. Do you know what Shayne did, you guessed it. He stayed in the pool so here we are arms full of stuff heading inside. Finally, Shayne decided to get out & started to look for us. We checked again to see if our room was ready but of course, it was not. So we decided to head over to Capt Cooks for some lunch & my first Dole Whip of the trip. After lunch, we were heading back over to see if our room was ready & it started to rain again. Now we had gotten wet twice. I went in at about 3:20 & our room was finally ready. I went to find the rest of the family & off we went in search of our room. What was are room like & where was it located?

I just came across your report. I love the back history and pics of previous trips. Congrats on the weight loss! Your arrival day seems nice, but hope that wasn't a pattern being started with the rain! Can't wait to read more.
Great start!! Sounds like you're off to a smooth start! I how Shayne stayed in the water when the rain came; he was wet anyway! Can't wait to see the room!
