Forums Closed
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.

So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.

Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.

And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.

We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.

There are other changes as well.

Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:

We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.

It's time to move on and move forward.

PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.

But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.

So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.

And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.

That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!

If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.

So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Best wishes for a wonderful and magical new year!

Sounds like you had a great time at TL & 50's PTC. I understand how the heat gets to you.....I'm another one who doesn't cope with heat very well. We were there later that week and I had to keep reminding myself to stay hydrated so that I wouldn't feel sick. Can't wait to hear more

Day 9 Sept 26

Day 9 Sept 26:

Today we are going to DTD to shop, shop, & shop some more. We slept in late & took our time getting ready (do you notice a pattern here LOL). While I was waiting for everyone to get ready. I started looking at the chart & somehow we ended up having an extra day of tickets. Well we can't have that, so we decided to go to Epcot there was a few things we wanted to do there & didn't have the time when we where there before.

They were switching over for the Food & Wine that starts in 2 days

My mom wanted to go to Innovention to make our plastic robot. My dad wanted to do Test Track since we didn't fit that in before. So when we first went in we notice that the sign said that Test Track was not running my dad was not thrilled to find that out. We went to Innovention to make our robot.

We also went through the Smart House which there was many things I would love to have there. We then notice that Test Track had opened so we got in line. We stood in line for about 20 mins the door opened, we go in. I hear the CM telling everyone behind us that they current shut down the while for a while. I'm like okay we made in here now when the doors open & there is a short line. I hear the CM telling everyone that it is storming outside & they are trying to get everyone inside. As soon as the rain stops they will run the cars empty for a little while to make sure everything is alright then start back up. We stood in there for probably 20 minutes before we loaded a car.

I can't believe it we missed another storm. I thought we were magnets for rain. So then we decided to ride the monorail from Epcot to TTC so that we could walk to the Poly & catch a bus to DTD. I had been wanting to ride the monorail from Epcot this whole trip. This was something that I wanted to do. When we go to the Poly we now found out that the bussing there stinks. We stood there for 30 to 40 mins waiting for the bus to DTD. The love bugs were so bad we ended up standing back a way from the bus stop so that we were not bombarded by them. Finally a bus came & off we went. Since the bus stop at the Marketplace was under rehab we walked up to the Marketplace.

First order of business is to eat. We found Earl of Sandwich & sat down to enjoy our food, this was a first for us . We will be going back we loved this place. We are off to the Christmas store which I personally love & could spend alot of time in there. We all went in there but everyone else bailed out before I was ready to go. I continue my shopping & had everything shipped home. Next we were off to the Mickey's Mart. Then we went off to the WOD I am not sure were my dad & brother went but they met us after a little while. There is so many things to look at I had been mentally keep track of all the stuff I wanted to buy for myself so that I could get them there. We had a AAA discount so I tried to buy as many souvenirs here as possible. We had all of the stuff shipped back to our room( gotta love that service). While we were checking out it was getting close to our ADR at Planet Hollywood. My mom & dad had gone out to check another store. There was some kind of problem printing the second sheet of my receipt. My brother came in to tell me that it was down pouring & we were going to wait a little bit for it to slow down before we head to our ADR. They all came back in to see what was taking so long. The girl couldn't get the machine to pull in the paper. Of course she was the only one at the station & couldn't find the manager to help her. She was starting to get frustrated. She ended up leaving to find a manager to help her which he also had a time trying to get the paper run through. By now it wasn't pouring but it was a steady rain. We did not have a umbrella or rain poncho we decided to walk over to Basin & look around. We are hoping the rain would slow down or stop so that we could make it to our ADR at Planet Hollywood. After a few cool purchase from Basin the rain had came to a mist & we are on our way to Planet Hollywood. At Planet Hollywood my dad & I got some sandwich & fries. My mom & brother got meals. We left before them so that we could do some looking around. They met up with us. My dad said the other night that there was this DVD that he wanted from the Virgin Store that I could get him for Christmas. So we headed to the Virgin Store before we called it a night & heading back to CBR.

With the exception of the love bugs and the DTD transportation, it sounds like you had a fabulous day! Can't wait to hear about the snowmen and what you thought about seeing Fantasmic for the first time!

Day 10 Sept 27

Day 10 Sept 27

Today we got up & had breakfast in our room. We got ready to go to Blizzard Beach; we love the family raft ride there. At Blizzard Beach we took our picture with the snowmen,

which I used as one of my Christmas cards this year.

Always a kid WDW

It was time to do Teamboat Springs & I love this view from the top of it. We went on to the Cross Country Creek. My dad wanted to do Summit Plummet & my brother wanted to do Slush Gusher.

So my mom & I waited at the bottom for them to come down. After that we decided that we would go to Lottawatta Lodge for lunch. This water park is OK but we personally like the other one better. Also I am afraid of heights so I not overly fond of crawling up all those steps for a water slide. After lunch we venture down to the wave pool, which is nice with the tubes to lounge around on. After about a half hour of that we decided we would dry off a little bit before we went to catch the bus. While waiting the only one thing I could do is have a drink which was Blue Blizzard it was so good.

OH!!! So yummy!!!!!

We dried off a little bit & caught the bus back to CBR. Once back at the CBR we decided to have a little rest before we got ready for MGM. We have ADR at Hollywood & Vine with the Fantasmic Package. This will be our first time to see Fantasmic it only took us three years to do so not bad not bad at all. We left the resort at about 4:30 & we were off to MGM. I stopped at lost & found to see if my sunglasses were there from the other day. The nice lady told me after everyday they send all the lost & found to the general lost & found over by MK. Oh well they weren't that expensive anyways (mental note-take two pairs of sunglasses next year when you go.) After we ate dinner we only had a few moments before we had to check in for our view of Fantasmic.

Waiting for Fantasmic to start.

All I have to say is that I love Fantasmic. It is one of my favorites & I was totally amazed that we haven't seen it before this. One thing I did notice about MGM is a lot of the stores don't stay open at Fantasmic is over. I also like to browse while we are waiting for the bus lines to go down some. There wasn't very many opened. We went back to the hotel & did some laundry. There was a guy there doing laundry while his wife was packing. They were there with her family but her family was at a different hotel. He was so funny & entertaining that it made the laundry not so bad. We called it a night about 12:30. It was a nice day.

Up next: Our last full day & checking out another hotel.

Finally a much needed update

Day 11 Sept 28

Our last full day at WDW. Today was beautiful but the point of exhaustion was creeping up on us. We got up & got ready to head over to AK. We had ADR @ 10:00 for Donald's Breakfastsaurus. We got there a little after 9:15. After much discussion on what to do I decided that before we went to breakfast I would walk over & get fast pass for EE. I left my parents & brother just up from the restaurant. I ran to get fast passes for everyone. When I got back they had moved & had no idea where they are. I called their cell phones after looking around a few minutes. They had moved closer to the restaurant. We waited about 10 mins before we were seated.

Our waitress was awesome but of course I forgot to write her name down. We had our autograph book out & I had gotten a big pen from the Dollar General with Tinkerbell on it. It hit the floor & broke so I had to get rid of it. We didn't have any other writing equipment with us so I just put our book away. Breakfast was great, even in my twenties I still love the characters & all the attention you get from them.

After breakfast we decided to go on Dinosaur ride. Last year we rode this & the picture of my brother was hilarious. So we went again but this time I think he played off of what happened last year. After I got the ghetto shoot of our picture.

We went to EE to use our fast pass.

We walk right on but we miss a lot of the queue area because there was no line. I am terrified of heights so the first part of the ride makes me nervous but the view from the top is awesome. It is worth my panic attack to get there.
