Forums Closed
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.

So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.

Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.

And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.

We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.

There are other changes as well.

Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:

We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.

It's time to move on and move forward.

PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.

But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.

So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.

And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.

That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!

If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.

So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Best wishes for a wonderful and magical new year!

Day 2 Part 2........A ride revisited

I got FPs for Peter Pan, and then we did It’s a Small World. We’ve been waiting for this ride for 3 trips, since it was closed last May and December! We walked right on, and I took a picture of every figurine in the place (I’m not kidding )! Here’s just a few, okay, a lot!

Next up was Mickey’s Philharmagic, and we couldn’t have timed it better as the doors had just opened for the show. Alexa hemmed and hawed about seeing it, but in no time at all, she was laughing away! I wish I could say the same for the girl next to us, who was freaking out and screaming thru the entire show, yet the Mom wouldn’t take her out Our FP time for Peter Pan had finally arrived, and we were soon flying over London It was barely 10:30, and we had pretty much done all of Fantasyland, on a Saturday no less. I was quite impressed with the crowds, they were quite manageable! Alexa didn’t want to go on Pooh so we headed to Toontown for some frozen lemonade. While everyone was eating, I went to Buzz to pick up some FPs. Boy, tomorrowland was quite busy We finished the lemonades and headed to Goofy’s Barnstormer. It was just a short wait, less than 10 minutes, and we were soon flying over Toontown!

It was time to move in the direction of Tommowland via the quiet walkway, after a brief stop at Donald’s Boat! It was too cool to get all wet today!

Re: Colexi\'s Spring Break Adventure, Thread 2 of 2 - Updated 5/13

..........continued from previous post

We bypassed the line at Buzz via our FPs. I think the standby line was now up to 30 minutes! It was a great trip thru space, but as usual, Matt won. I think I ended up around 45,000 points. Not too shabby for me! We did a quick spin on the TTA (paging Mr. Morrow, Mr. Tom Morrow……..I love that line )! It was close to noon now, it was getting crowded, so we decided to bail! As we walked out, we passed the new Tommorland Terrace Noodle Station and decided to give it a try! I got a chicken cashew salad, we got an order of potstickers, Matt had a shrimp noodle bowl, and the kids had a lomein kids meal. The food was pretty good and the service was pretty quick. Total came to around $24. Not bad! After our tummies were full, and the kids were beginning to melt, we headed back to the bus stop.

The wait for the bus wasn’t too long (5 minutes), and we were transported back to Africa in no time We got back to the room around 1, and the room wasn’t ready This was a little bit of a downer, as Colin could have used a nap then and there (and so could have Matt). So instead, we changed into our suits, grabbed our mugs, and headed to the pool! Another somewhat quiet day at the pool, and we were able to snag a table in the corner right near the zero entry part! But due to the blustery conditions again, Colin lasted all of about 15 minutes before he was done. Alexa again could have swam forever. Thankfully Matt took her in, because there was no way that I was going into that water. I was freezing! We finally dragged out Alexa, and headed back to the room. Thankfully the room was done this time

The kids and Matt took showers/tubs, and in no time, both Colin and Matt were sleep I gave Alexa some more time, hoping that she too would fall asleep since MK was open late tonight, but she wouldn’t cooperate. Well, I got tired of staying in the room (the only downfall to our room was that we didn’t get sunlight, which I missed because I needed the warmth and could have sat out there writing in my Passporter or just “resting” ) so I took Alexa and we grabbed the mugs and went out on a walk. First down to Mara for a snack (Zebra Domes for me, Oreo cookies for Alexa and we filled up our mugs - $5.52. The had replaced the chocolate book with a chocolate egg

Next we headed to Zawadi marketplace to see if we could find anything good to buy. Well yes I could, but I refrained myself! Then we headed out to Arusha Rock to check out the animals!

Marnie,

As always your pictures are FABULOUS! so much for the pictures of It's a Small World. My little, Disney pre-teen was having none of it on our most recent trip , but your pictures are the next best thing to riding it myself!

Can't wait to hear about your magical night!

That egg looked fabulous - the chocolate sculptures are always amazing. (There was one in Boma the first week of May that was of my favorite Ostrich lamps from the AKL lobby. 60 pounds of chocolate never looked so good!)

Can't wait for more,
Eileen

Excellent update Marnie - it sounds like you were lucky, the Magic Kingdom was obviously quite quiet to have such a short wait for Dumbo at that time! Thank you so much for sharing your photos of It's A Small World. I can't wait to subject Mark to that when we return - and to see all the changes they've made there.

I'm looking forward to reading all about the evening of magic.

Re: Colexi\'s Spring Break Adventure, Thread 2 of 2 - Updated 5/13

Day 2 Continued..........

We got back to the room, and woke up the guys! Time’s a wastin’ people!! I think we were out of the room by 5:30, not too bad, and the bus was down there when we got to the bus stop Another quick ride, and we were at MK again First stop, the Confectionery Matt had a hunkering for something sweet, of course, he couldn’t wait until we gave the kids some good food (see why I say I always have 3 kids ) We made it out of there with some Pez for the kids, a Hershey bar with Almonds for Matt, and some sort of candy that explodes in your mouth (again Matt said it was for the kids, but we all know who was going to eat that)! It was 6:20, and the next showing of Cinderellabration was at 6:35, so we headed up to the castle. We ended up getting up pretty close, again the park didn’t seem too crowded for a Saturday. What a great show this is, don’t miss it ! Cinderella is my favorite princess, so I was in heaven Before the show, I also took some pictures of the castle all gussied up

And now Cinderellabration!
