A Princess Only Trip.......UPDATED 12/25/12 - Page 8 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Just finished reading your DHS and MK days. All I can think of is WWWOOWWWW your guys really cramed a ot into those two days. Cheyanne has proven that she is a very good girl as she put up with all of the meets before getting to do the rides. You did say she was 13. I can remember when our oldest grand-daughter was that age. If a camera was even pointed her direction, she would duck and cover. If we could get her to face the camera it was always dead pan. Now at 18, she has totally gone in the other direction. She is always smiling and enjoys having her picture made. The Cindi meet with the kiss is great. Liz, it is very obvious that you and Brent have a fantastic relationship. My wife met Tink and Peri when we were there in September. She was very impressed with both of them. (Tink is her favorite too).
We will be back at WDW in March and have already made our ADR for BOG. We are really looking forward to that. BTW, did you "try the gray stuff"? I hear it is delicious. Now for the big question, what is the gray stuff? Looking forward to your next post.

Day #6 November 20th 2012 Today we woke up feeling the sadness of knowing the trip is almost over. Today and one more full day then we must head home to Michigan and the cruel reality of everyday life. More determined that ever to use every minute of time we had at Disney to our advantage we were up by about 5am. We had a 7am breakfast ADR at Chef Mickey. (Thank you Brent for snagging this for us) We did find out there was a "breakfast bus" that runs at 6:30 to MK. We were at the bus stop by 6:20 and ready to start the day. We rode the bus to MK and walked over to the Contemporary without a lot of time to spare. We arrived at Chef Mickeys right on time. The hustle and bustle of the morning was just starting to happen. We were seated quickly and had a great breakfast. The characters were fun and the food was good. We talked over breakfast and decided on Epcot today. This was the day in our travels we had no predetermined park dictated by ADR's.
After breakfast we hopped the monorail for Epcot, by this time the crowds were very notably larger. We went to Innoventions first and rode the ride where you create your own roller coaster, the line had been too long for this earlier this trip so we wanted to hit it immediately after park opening. Chey and I took turns selecting pieces for the track. It was a strange combination of wild and mild.......but I survived! After that we went over to Ellen's Energy Adventure, we both love this ride! I know....its corny as all get out but we love it. After that we strolled (read nosey) around by Test Track to see what we could see.....hoping for a soft opening but no such luck. Darn..... :/ So we acquired some Churros and walked around the world. Shopping, strolling, rode the Malstorm. We spent the better part of the morning wandering aimlessly and people watching. Soon it was time to head back to POP for some lunch and a swim before dinner.
Dinner was at 1900 Park Fare. I have to admit, I was not looking forward to going here without Brent. This is where Brent proposed a few short years ago......we have had so much magic there. Definitely "our place". Chey really wanted do to it tho, one of the few places she asked to make ADR's at so I decided to go and make the best of it. I am sooooo glad I did. When we got seated and they started announcing the arrival of the Royal Family I was shocked. It was our special Anastasia, Dru, Prince and Step Mother!!!! Lady T came over to our table as soon as she could. She was amazing.....she of course asked where Brent was. I have to admit I was shocked she remembered me. When we are there as a couple I understand but I really was amazed at how she, well a lot of the character so far, remembered me. I told her that Brent wasn't here this trip and explained he would be here in Feb. She said "Well he needs to stay home and work to pay for your princess trip.......!" We made *plans* for something later on in the meal when her and her daughters were ready. Hee hee. She spent a lot of time visiting and Chey looked totally baffled. She informed Chey that her and I "were old friends and had went to finishing school together". After she left Cheyenne whispered to me...."did you really go to school together?". Cinderella came around and was delightful, she looked at my shirt and said "oh yes, I know your Prince!". Prince Charming came around and remembered me too!! He said he was sorry he missed us in August and its been since February since he saw Brent and I last. It had been too!!!!!! (Since we saw this Prince). How do they do that!!?!??!??! He said he couldn't wait until we came together again and that we were truly an inspiration to them of what love really is and were part of their Royal Family. He spent quite a bit of time too. He asked where Brent was and I told him, he said "it is difficult being a Prince and having to watch over the castle.........". Pretty soon Dru and Anastasia came around and Lady T came back. We called Brent and he talked to them all. I didn't realize they aren't supposed to talk on the phone...lol. They were being very creative about being discreet. I will let Brent tell you what they talked about when he chimes in....I obviously heard only one side. The phone call was so much fun....the next best thing to him being there. It made me sure I did the right thing by going and not skipping this meal. Lady T and her daughters told Chey they were glad she came. They said they were beginning to doubt we actually had kids and were just using them for an excuse to come to Disney. They told her repeatedly how special her mom and dad were and how much they missed us. They told her it was people like us that made Disney magical, that made me smile. She asked me later if we "were famous at Disney". I was amazed at how much time they spent at our table. Of course the sisters asked if Brent was wearing his shoes that they got him every day. I may have told a little white fib here when I said "oh, of course!", but he does love the shoes and I know he treasures that night at 1900 PF with them and the gifts. It certainly was special. Soon we had to bid our farewells. Lots of hugs and well wishes. I was asked many times when Brent and I were coming back. I told everyone hopefully December 2013, everyone groaned and said that was too far away! I agree! (see the phone!!)
Walking into the Grand Floridian was just breathtaking!! Pictures won't do it justice I know but here are some. There was a life size gingerbread house.....we had our pic taken in front of it. Check out the special shutters!! And a pic of Cinderellas carriage on the carpet of the stairway.
We hopped back on the monorail bound once again for Epcot. I had an important message to deliver to Aurora. We love Epcot at night! It was windy and just a beautiful, Christmas atmosphere type night there. We rode Spaceship Earth, walked around the world a few times and took in some shows. It really was amazing. That place is beautiful when its decorated for the holidays, especially at night. We walked for a long time around the world. We got in line early to see Aurora since it was so busy, the first ones of course. I was practicing, in my head, the line that Brent had texted me to tell her. Thought for sure I had it down! Not so much. I got up to see her and showed her some pics of previous trips. I told her my Prince wanted me to tell you "a steadfast heart is........" No, I mean "100 steadfast hearts...." No that wasn't it either. "Just a minute Aurora......I have this!!" I promptly pulled out said phone and rattled off......."one hundred years is but a day to a steadfast heart......" and told her Brent would be back in February. She said "Oh I see why he is your Prince, he is just as charming as could be! Give him my love!" I personally think she was just glad I spit out what I was trying to say and quit looking like a fool!
Chey and I were laughing so hard while we were in line. This guy came up with a stroller and 2 young kids. He said to me "which Princess is this?" I said "Princess Aurora". He offered a blank stare. I said "Brier Rose". He offered a blank stare with a twisted lip, you could almost see "huh?" in a comment bubble above his head. Trying to hide the frustration in my voice........I said "Sleeping Beauty". Still nothing. "Oh for Goodness sake.....the one in pink!!!!!" He turns to his kids and says (I kid you not), "we are going to see a princess". Everything I said had been reduced to simply "a princess"!!!???!!! After I gathered myself and thought 'oh those poor kids', I turned to Cheyenne who was laughing out loud by this point.
We walked around the world some more. Chey who is NOT a morning person said to me "mom, we should get up early like this every day that we are at Disney, it seems like we have had more time in the day today to do stuff!" She was right, we had accomplished a lot and had a wonderful day. We headed back to the hotel for some Mickey themed snacks before bed.
Tomorrow.......the alliances of Princesses. Brent may have to think about how to handle this one.........
Gotta go to bed for a very early morning but I must set the record straight on what you SHOULD have told Aurora. I knew she would be asking about me and missing me. I told Liz to tell Aurora 'Don't despair! Brent will be here in February to see you, so keep the faith! After all, a hundred years is but a day to a steadfast heart." (One of my favorite lines from her movie)
What a wonderful day! I this particular Lady T. She forced my DSS to dance with her & it was a highlight of our trip! Anastassia & Dru were also the ones we saw on that trip as well & my daughter Brianna had them howling. It truly was a magical night at 1900 Park Fare! I understand the Magic that is there! More please.
