The Light at the end of the tunnel to the Caribbean Beat Trip Report Sept 18 to Sept 29 - **Updated 3/31** COMPLETE!! - Page 8 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

It was so awesome to be able to go on the Wishes Cruise you can't even imagine. My mom told all of us never to complain again when she needed to use the bathroom or have a smoke but we will probably still will complain. It was great to have that offered for free. I still can't believe that it happen to us. That is one less thing on our list to do this year. We our already planning our schedule & stuff we want to do for our 2008 trip. Here is what our schedule looked like this year which some of it changes with the trip we just roll with the flow. We hung this up so that we didn't have to keep asking what we were doing each day. We added some stuff & took some off.
Sorry long time no type between work & the holidays it has just been crazy! I will try to keep the momentum rolling this time. If not it will be time for me to start another one & I wont have this one done. I think that I am going to make my New Year's resolution to finish my trip report. Anywho on to the TR:
We are going to Typhoon Lagoon today. This is our favorite water park & if they would take the family raft ride from Blizzard Beach we wouldn't have to go to Blizzard Beach at all. We got up & went to the OPR for breakfast as a family. It was off to TL for time to swim & we went on Crusher Gusher. Then we headed over to the lazy river which I could float around on all day. We got off at the raft ride & rode it down.
My dad & brother love the wave pool so we headed over there. I had a couple of drinks at the bar while they where in the wave pool. My mom & I decided to try it. After a little while we decided that it was time for lunch. We ate at Typhoon Lily & sat at their tables while eating the sky open just a little but since we were already wet it wasn't too bad. After lunch we decided that my dad & brother were going to the wave pool again. My mom & I were going to ride around on the lazy river one more time. Well we went around one time & decided that we had not had enough yet so around again we went. We left around 3:00 or so went back to the hotel. We all rest for a little while at the hotel before we got ready for our ADR at Planet Hollywood for 7:30. We got there at 7:00 look through one store then it was time for ADR. I love the food there & the scenery but the music is so loud that you can't hear what anyone is saying unless you are screaming at each.
This is one of the few pictures I took of our food!
Then it takes a little while for your hearing to come back. After that we looked through a few of the stores.
There was a guy outside Planet Hollywood who was making these balloons. Shayne was so excited to get one you would of thought he was 5yo. That's what disney does to you makes everyone feel like a kid
My dad & brother went into the Virgin store for quite a while we sat outside on a bench. We meet a family that spoke very little English & we don't speak Spanish but there daughter was so cute & entertain us for a half & hour while her husband & father were in the Virgin Store. She was maybe two years old pushing around the stroller. All these people kept looking b/c they couldn't see her just the stroller moving. It was hilarious. We got back to our room about 10:30 I went down to do some laundry. While we were waiting for the laundry to dry my mom & I sat on one of the benches on the walk way. It was so peaceful & quite at this time of night. About 12:30am we finished up the laundry & went to bed.
Today was the hottest day that we had so far. We slept in a little bit before we went to MGM, so we got there about 10:30 so we picked up a time guide to try to fit everything in.
First we tried Indiana Jones it wasn't time for that showing, so onto Star Wars.
I had my sunglasses hanging on my shirt. Well when I bent over to pick up my bag at the end of the show I must have dropped them. I did not even realize that I dropped them until we were standing in line for LMASS. I didn't want to get out of line so I waited.
We were having an early dinner so we didn't want to eat lunch but by this time I was hungry. After the stunt show we went to Indiana Jones. By this time I will admit I was starting to get cranky. It was extremely hot out the humidity was killing me & I was starving. We decided to get a snack to hold us over which is just what I needed. We were heading to Beauty & the Beast. We saw the parade was starting & we had a little bit of time.
So we watch the parade before we went to Beauty & the Beast. My mom and I loved Beauty & the Beast this was the first time we had seen any of the production at WDW. My dad & brother said it was OKAY but deep down I think they really enjoyed it but that wouldn't be manly to admit it. After that we went browsing through the stores before our ADR at 5:00pm. I found a Tinkerbell coat that I had shipped back to the resort & they were changing over to winter items now. We went to 50's Prime Time Cafe. This is my mom & brothers favorite restaurant. Our waitress was having some trouble with another table. Something along the line of she ran the card through twice & they were trying to take care of it. So she would disappear for long period of times & our drinks didn't get refilled. Then somehow she ran our order through twice. We were eating & they brought out our dinners again. She did apologized for being distracted & not being able to do the antidotes that she normal would. I think next year when we go we will be eating at lunch time that worked better for us. Afterwards we were planning to go to the Camp fire & movie when we were trying to get WL so we decided that we would just call it a night & go back to the hotel to rest & relax for a while. I checked with lost & found at the end of the day to see if any one had return my sunglasses no such luck. One thing that I love about the CBR is the hotel itself makes you feel like you are on vacation itself. So it like a vacation inside a vacation. I love going back after a long day & just chillin out. It is so relaxing & peaceful.
Up next: Shop until we drop at DTD!! OH wait we have an extra day of tickets left. What ever should we do?
That evening when we return we changed our clothes to just hang out for a while. My mom & I took some pictures of room door that we decorated along with the towel animals that she put in the window.
