10 Nights of Magic in The Orlando Trifecta-TR - COMPLETE!! 12/10 - Page 71 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Your lunch looked great, and it does look like a nice little place to get away from the crowds.
I really enjoyed it and it was quite peaceful there.

Your lunch looked delicious at the HBD and how nice that you got to sit outside and enjoy the ambiance! It's so rare that a Friendship boat is waiting for you when you walk up to the ramp!!!
It was a great lunch and especially being outside. I agree with the boat as not often this happens.

Wow, Echo Lake is undergoing some serious work there!
Glad I didn't have a big lunch but this was very enjoyable. I couldn't believe when I saw Echo Lake.

Very nice lunch. It seems like a great spot to sit outside and be away from the crowds!
I enjoyed the lounge and I felt a bit isolated with this location which was good! Made it more relaxing.

What in the world is going on with Echo Lake?
I enjoyed the lounge and the outdoor setting and was well shaded which made it very comfortable with the Florida heat. I plan to return. Not sure about Echo Lake, but perhaps just a rehab. I don't think it was in this state that long.

The Hollywood Brown Derby Lounge looks like a great spot for lunch!
The Shrimp and Grits looked delicious!
Just loved everything about this place and the setting was just so relaxing being outside. I will definitely return and most likely on my next WDW trip. Just enjoyed it so much. I couldn't fault the shrimp and grits in any way and certainly went with the right course!

Wednesday, October 11th (Part III) When I returned to my room, I got my things ready for my activities later today as well as tomorrow. I also charged my phone as I took a lot of photos in Studios. I was a bit tired from Studios and got a bit of a nap in for about thirty minutes which is what I needed. It would also be a late night and any rest I get now will be beneficial.
Once I awoke, I made sure I had everything I needed and went downstairs and outside to the bus depot to get to the Magic Kingdom. The wait time was about ten minutes for the bus and better than on some of the days. My first FastPass+ was in its’ window, but I had plenty of time to make it. When I arrived at the Magic Kingdom, I could see how crowded it was with the throngs of guests entering the park. I was screened for security and scanned my MagicBand and entered the Magic Kingdom. Although, the lines were long they moved rather well.
I arrived on Main Street USA and took my time getting to my FP+ as I wanted to get some photos of the area. It was probably best taking my time as it was so crowded in the park. It makes sense as there are Extra Magic Hours tonight. This is probably my favorite park for nighttime EMHs.
Love this scarecrow!
Always enjoy this sight, when walking down Main Street USA!
Entering the hub
After arriving in the hub area, I walked and passed underneath the castle and into Fantasyland. When I arrived in this part of the park it seemed even more crowded than Main Street was. I guess everyone wants to be in the Magic Kingdom today! Hollywood Studios was not that bad today, but then again it was earlier in the day.
In just a few minutes, I arrived at my FP+ destination for 7 Dwarves Mine Train. This would be my first experience on this attraction as last year, I was unable to book a FP+ for it. I was looking forward to this ride and hoping for a great experience.
See what I mean about the crowds?
I entered the FP+ queue and scanned my MagicBand. The line was long but was moving. The standby line was listed at 150 minutes, so I’m quite relieved I have a FP+ for this as there is no way I’d wait 2 ½ hours in line for this. Forty-five minutes is about my limit for one of my favorite attractions.
FastPass+ queue for 7DMT
It took about twenty minutes until I was in my car for the ride. I enjoyed the FP+ queue, which had some nice theming once I got near the boarding area. The theming for the ride was very good and I enjoyed the attraction. Although, I think Big Thunder Mountain Railroad and Space Mountain are better coasters in the Magic Kingdom. It was very enjoyable, but I like the other two a bit more. I will certainly ride this in the future. There were some nice drops and speed to the ride and many of the areas are so well themed.
After this, I walked to another attraction in Fantasyland that shouldn’t have that long of a line, but with the crowds this afternoon it just may! I had some time before my window for my next FP+ opened, so I decided on this before my next FP+.
Mad Tea Party attraction
I haven’t been on this in a few years, so it was about time. When I arrived there, the line wasn’t too bad and I was on it within ten minutes. It was enjoyable, but it certainly makes you dizzy and especially when exiting your teacup.
I had another 90 minutes or so before my dinner reservation, but I wanted to leave the Magic Kingdom close to 4:30 pm. It was now close to 3:45 pm and I wasn’t worried about the time as I had a FP+ for Space Mountain. I headed towards Tomorrowland.
When, I arrived at Space Mountain I could see the standby line was way outside of the building and close to the PeopleMover line. It was listed at 150 minutes, just as Seven Dwarves was. I walked by Peter Pan in Fantasyland earlier and the wait time was at 120 minutes. These wait times are insane! I’m so glad I have FP+s for the Magic Kingdom as the better choice than for Studios, when the park just opened. Usually, you can manage even on the most popular attractions just after opening as I did and a couple hours after with durable waits.
I entered the FP+ queue for Space Mountain and the line was quite long. Usually I can walk almost to the top near the boarding area but not today. But, the line was moving well. I got to the top in just over five minutes and I was on the ride within ten minutes more, so not too bad. Once, again a CM called out for single riders and I happily volunteered and got on the attraction a bit sooner than expected! Once again it was another enjoyable ride and even better being in the front row! I was surprised with this as a single rider as the others in my car didn’t want to ride in the front row, but no problem for me!
After the long exiting process on the moving walkway, I left Space Mountain and began my exit from Tomorrowland and the Magic Kingdom for my upcoming dinner ADR.
After weaving my way through the vast crowds in the Magic Kingdom and especially along Main Street USA, I exited the Magic Kingdom. It seemed more guests were arriving at the Magic Kingdom rather than leaving. It will be a very busy night later for Extra Magic Hours for certain. I will be back, but not for a few hours. I still have one more FP+ to use.

The crowds in your photos look so huge, and those wait times are crazy!
Yes they were and I couldn't believe them and this was a weekday! I think most of it was due to the EMHs! So glad I chose FPs here instead of Studios as it seemed to work out with this situation. Crowd levels had to be a 9 as a 10 would be Christmas time!
