Forums Closed
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.

So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.

Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.

And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.

We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.

There are other changes as well.

Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:

We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.

It's time to move on and move forward.

PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.

But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.

So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.

And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.

That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!

If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.

So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Best wishes for a wonderful and magical new year!

Re: Colexi\'s Spring Break Adventure - Thread 3 of 3 - Updated 6/3

..............continued from previous post

After the movie ended, it was time to head back for the animation tour. I didn’t know we were going to come out in the Animation courtyard, that was kinda cool! We just left the strollers at One Man’s Dream and moved on. I asked one more time for either VOLM or Playhouse Disney, but both were rejected. Oh well! We got into line for the animation tour, and were soon inside for the presentation. I don’t think we’ve ever done this one either (or at least I don’t remember) so that was another first for us. And even more lucky for us, since it was Mushu, it held Colin’s attention. Since it was our first time seeing it, I can’t comment on the show other than we liked it, but I know people have said it’s gone downhill from years past! After the show, we headed towards the Incredibles meet and greet area (since that was why we were really here) They didn’t’ come out until 10:30, so we had about a 10 minute wait. We got into the queue, and soon they had arrived. First out was Frozone, who went into the corner behind the queue for the Incredibles, which confused me We’d come back for him, and waited for the Incredibles first. They finally came out, and the line started moving Colin was scared, and didn’t really want to pose for the picture. We also took a family picture with the Photopass Card, which I’ll scan in at the end.

Next up was Frozone. Colin wouldn’t go near him (he does look a little intimidating) so it was all Alexa.

The window had already opened up on our RnRC FPs, but the kids wanted to stay and play with the stuff in the animation studio. So I left the kids with Matt, and headed out first. He’d wait for me in the courtyard. I hustled over to RnRC, and was lucky that a few minutes after I got there, they let the FP side of the line thru We were soon in the studio, and watching the preshow! The line on the other side wasn’t too bad either, and it helped that I was a single What a great ride Thankfully I remembered to take off my glasses this time, because the last time I rode it, I spent the entire ride with my hands on my face trying to keep my glasses from falling off

When I got outside, Matt and the kids were there. He went to join the line, and I headed off with the kids to get an ice cream (it was getting hot). We ended up with an Itzakadoodle and a chocolate chip cookie sandwich. We sat at a table in the Sunset Marketplace, and waited for Matt. We were visited by a bird friend.

Of course, then it was potty time, which caused us to miss meeting up with Matt. When we got outside, I saw I had a missed call, and he was already past us. He came back to find us, and we headed off in search of our strollers. We also walked thru the Villians store, which was another first for us. They had some great stuff in there, but I’m not a big villains fan. I also enjoyed the candy store at the end, they were making huge chocolate covered strawberries

We met up with our strollers, and headed off to see if they were giving out FPs for the new stunt show. Along the way, we met up with Jo Jo and Goliath

The CM taking the picture kept telling me that I couldn’t use my “pink” AP Photopass card, he had to give me a new one (due to new technology). That was a crock, since I had used it not more than 5 days earlier here. Oh well. We also passed Daisy and Donald Duck, but they had just cut off the line, and we didn’t want to wait. And the line for pictures with Sorceror Mickey was too long, so we didn’t wait for him either!

Once out into the courtyard, we saw that they were giving away FPs for the stunt show, so we ran over and grabbed some of those. I think the show wasn’t until 1:00, we could enter at 12:15 I believe. As we were walking out of the FP area, we see we had just missed Blood, Sweat, and Shears They’re our favorite act in MGM They were heading back thru the gates. The kids were disappointed, they loved them in December. We got a pretzel and some water, and just sat in the courtyard for a few minutes. I then spotted the “singing in the rain” umbrella, and we played around with that for awhile.

All of a sudden, blaring noise started, and some sort of vehicle came out. Apparently these are the Power Rangers. I had no clue, but Alexa sure knew who it was, and we had to have her picture taken with them all Even Colin got into the act, and now all they want to watch are Power Rangers

After the Power Rangers headed in, Blood, Sweat and Shears came out again They set up shop about halfway down the road (NY Street ), across from Youse Guys Moyschindice

They put on a great show, we were happy to see them

Coming up next........Stunt show, and a little rain must fall

Just got caught up with your TR Marnie! LOVE IT! Wow, Colin has really grown since I saw him last May. He's getting past that toddler stage look. Ariana is loving all the photos with the kids and the characters. Especially the JoJO & Goliath one.

SOrry to see it come to an end, but I can't wait for more.

That was so funny about you sitting at another table! Too bad your dh didn't get a pic of that!

Thanks for the pic of the umbrella too...I also forget to look for it everytime, now maybe I'll remember!

Marnie,

Great update and still loving the pictures. I was also surprised to see the Power Rangers (a bit loud), but would you believe that I have never heard of Blood, Sweat and Shears?

I am so ashamed.

Looking forward to more!

Re: Colexi\'s Spring Break Adventure - Thread 3 of 3 - Updated 6/3

Day 9 Part 2.............

We had to leave before the show ended, because it was time to head inside the stadium for the stunt show. Thankfully the queue area was not busy when we were there, but I can see how this can be a point of congestion! And it’s a really long walk to the actual stadium. We ended up just off to the left side, but we sat very high up to get a better vantage point. I don’t think there’s really a bad seat in the house, other than if you sat in front of one of the poles holding up the roof What a great view of all the surroundings, I didn’t realize it was that high up!

The show was great. It was a little long for Colin and Alexa’s liking, but I think they enjoyed it as well (especially Herbie). However, the fire at the end was not to Alexa’s liking, and she basically cried the entire time that was going on. Even though we were so far away from it. She doesn’t do good with fire (another reason we won’t be going back to see the Indiana Jones show)

The show ended, and we became part of the masses trying to exit the stadium. Boy, this must put a huge amount of people in this area of the park We were at the end, and the stadium wasn’t even full, and it still took quite some time. It looks like (to me anyway) that they didn’t build enough elevators either, there was quite line The sky was starting to turn grey and threatening, but no rain yet. We had a bit of trouble trying to locate the strollers. We had left them out by the courtyard in front of the stadium, and of course, they were gone now. We found them once we knew where to look And we had been smart enough to put the stroller cover over them just in case it rained while we were at the show!

It was late now, close to 2, and tummies were rumbling. We decided just to head to Pizza Planet for some food. Of course, because the show had just gotten out, there were no tables to be had. Matt and the kids grabbed a bench over near Muppets 3D, and I headed inside to get the food. I got a Toy Story salad for myself, and pizzas for the kids and Matt, along with some sodas. It was nice to sit outside and people watch, and we made it thru most of the meal before it started to rain. There was a face painting (or tattoo) kiosk right across from Muppets that Alexa was eyeing. I told her to wait until later tonight, because she was going to go into the pool when we got back, and it would just come off anyway and wouldn’t last. That worked for now. We donned the ponchos and put the stroller covers back on, and headed for the exit. It was close to 3 at this point, we were due to head back to the room anyway.

There was a boat waiting when we got to the dock, so were were lucky enough to make it on board. The ride back was quite rainy, it was really coming down at this point, but we didn’t let that stop us. We headed up to the room, changed into our swimsuits, and headed back down to the pool. First stop was to get some towels (again, no ID check) and then we went over to the kiddie slide again. I was quite hesitant about getting in the water, but since it was already raining, and I was soaked anyway, why not. The water was warm, but the air was cool so I tried to keep as much of my body under the water as I could After about a half hour, Colin’s lips were blue, he was done. Alexa however, was not I took Colin upstairs and we took a nice warm bath. Matt took Alexa to the other pool. After an hour had passed, and still no sign of Matt and Alexa, I packed up Colin and we headed down to look for them. They weren’t at the kiddie slide, and they weren’t in the sand pool We must have been two ships that passed in the night, because they were in the room when we got back up there

I’m pretty sure at this point that Colin must have taken a nap, as I don’t recall him taking one earlier today. My bad note taking……I always drop off at the end of a trip I kept watching the radar on TV, and the skies. A storm would come thru, it would brighten up and stop, then it would start pouring again. By about 6, we were getting antsy, and just decided to brave the weather. We donned the ponchos, stroller covers, and sandals, and headed out. Again we were greeted with a 10 minute wait at the IG. I know it’s getting busy if you have to wait at the IG, we usually just breeze right thru here.

We were on two missions tonight. First was to finish the infamous Kidcot mask for Alexa, and second was to find a face painting booth. Of course, IllumiNations was in there as well, but that was a given. We started heading toward the UK, and would walk around that way. It looks like the rain helped to thin out the crowds a little, but there were still quite a few people around. We had remembered there was a face painting booth near the entrance to the WS so we searched for that. Of course, when we get there, it’s closed. The rain must have driven her off Well, that sent Alexa into a tizzie. I told her to calm down, we’d find another one, and there was always the one over at the Boardwalk we could go to later. That seemed to work for now. We stopped at the entrance to WS to snap the last pictures of the big topiary.

First stop on the mask quest was Mexico. Due to the rain, the tiles at the entrance were very slippery. Thank goodness I had Alexa’s hand, or she would have been splat on the ground. I also slipped myself. You’d think they’d put down tiles with more of a grip We found the Kidcot station and Alexa got her stamp. We also pressed a few pennies in here as well. Out we go, in search of trolls. We find the station in Norway. It is quite crowded, but Alexa manages to get her stamp. And we get more pressed pennies. I love the beautiful clothes in the Norway shop, but they are so expensive

We passed by China, since that is where the mask had originated Next up was Germany. This area was much quieter, and the stamp (and pressed pennies) were completed in no time. Onward to Italy for a quick stop, and we only had one more to go A band had just come out between American and Italy, and they marched right by. Not sure if they went all the way around, or where they end up stopping! They were quite good There was quite a line for the station in America, but she finally got the last stamp, and her picture for completing them all! Thank goodness that was done. I noticed Pocahontas in the courtyard, and snapped a picture of her!

Okay, tummies are calling, it’s time to eat. We headed over to the Liberty Inn, and got some food. I got a turkey bagel sandwich to split with Matt, and I got the kids hot dogs. I was disappointed to see the Tukey BLT sandwich gone, I enjoyed that one We left with our tummies full (well, mostly) and started scoping out spots for IllumiNations. We ended up on a bench between Morocco and Japan again. It was wet, so we just put down the ponchos and sat on them. I had wanted to try some pastries from the Boulangerie Patisserie, so I headed off while Matt stayed with the kids. The line was out the door as usual at the Patisserie, but it moved fairly quickly. I ended up with some chocolate mousse, and a Napolean (which was difficult to eat and made quite a mess). I brought it back to the bench, and we all sampled the desserts. Matt also headed over to Japan to pick up our last Kaki Gori

It was a great IllumiNations show as usual, and we were sad to say it was our last time

We headed out with the masses, but we still had one more quest that we hadn’t obtained yet. Alexa still hadn’t had her face painted We turned at the split and headed toward the Boardwalk, and their face painting stand. It looked like she was there, but had run inside for a few minutes to get some change. No matter, we were waiting it out! She came back a few minutes later, and Alexa picked out her face. The CM cautioned us that it would probably come off if we were going right to bed. We said we knew, but she had to have it done because it was our last day. If it was off tomorrow, it didn’t matter as Alexa was living for the moment!

With that done, we headed back to the room to start packing. Matt also needed to gas up the rental car, because we were leaving early tomorrow (hopefully before 6 AM). I gave him directions on how to get there, and sent him off. Since we always bring an extra duffle bag (big one) to put all our dirty clothes in, I stuffed that full since we hadn’t done laundry since we were at the AKL. That pretty much left the suitcases wide open to fit all the souvenirs and everything else we had accumulated. I took out clothes for tomorrow and put them aside, and pretty much had everything packed by the time Matt got back. Since our first experiences with Bell Services was sketchy upon arrival, I wasn’t taking any chances tomorrow morning, so I had Matt take out the suitcases and duffel bag, and the stroller that we had put back into it’s carrying bag back into the car. Less things to have to worry about. It was lights out by 11:30 I think, which was pretty good. I also made sure that we had multiple wake up alarms ready for tomorrow morning, trying to prevent last December’s debacle of the not waking up on time

The last view from our room

The weather today was…….hot, sunny then rain, mid 80s
The best thing today was….. seeing Blood, Sweat and Shears at MGM
The worst thing today was……the rain, but we didn’t let it stop us
The funniest thing today was……..swimming in the rain
Today we tried …….The new Stunt Show Spectacular at MGM
and the result was…….a great show, except for the fire (Alexa)
The most magical moment today was…meeting the Incredibles

Coming Up Next……...Do We Get up in Time??, and “sorry, you’re going to miss your plane”

Great update Marnie!! The pictures are awesome, especially of the Stunt Show!! Can't wait for more!!! I am just sorry that your report is coming to an end, I have really enjoyed reading it!! I hope that you don't miss your plane, but that teaser is not promising!
