As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:

It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.

Oh my time is flying by, only six days to go, at this time next week we will be at DHS soaking in all the magic, cannot wait! I still have not packed a single thing yet but lists are slowly getting made so hopefully I will not forget anything when I finally do start to pack. Came across a little bump in the road, I discovered yesterday that my charger for my camcorder has gone missing and I cannot find it anywhere. So I ordered a new one and hopefully it will get her in time but luckily my Mom has the same one and if I have too can share hers during the trip.
OK so where did I leave off, oh yeah we were up to day 5.
Day 5 12/15
Today is the day I plan to make rope drop at the MK, three down one to go. The park has EMH and opens up at 8am, so I plan to get the troops out of bed and hit the trail running to the MK. I have heard yummy delicious things about the Main Street Bakery, so that is where I plan to pick up something for breakfast. We plan on hitting any attractions we didn’t get to when we were there the other day, including Space Mountain, my DS2 and I were watching Disney ride videos on youtube yesterday and he was super excited about SM and wants to ride it whenever we go back, little does he know it is only 6 days away. I am looking forward to it too because it was closed for refurb last time we were there, however when we rode TTA it was cool to see SM with the lights on. Lunch will probably be eaten either at Cosmic Rays or Columbia House depending what section of the park we are in. Then after some more fun at MK we will hop on the monorail and head back to the Poly. We have a 6:45 ADR at Ohana’s , we have eaten here for breakfast but never dinner so this will be a new experience for us. After dinner is pretty much up in the air I have some options to suggest like pool, DTD or if they want Neverland Club again, so whatever the majority decides we will do.

Today will be a late night at Epcot, they have EMH until 12:30am, so during the day we will take it easy. Moring will probably consist of resort time with breakfast at Captain Cooks. Then around lunch time, I would like to head back over to AK and catch the Mickey’s Jingle Jungle Parade. Since AK in not my favorite park, don’t get me wrong I like it but I just find it hard to navigate, we usually don’t spend a full day there and therefore have never seen the parades. I thought we could head over there around lunch, grab a bite at Flame Tree BBQ(a first for us), catch the parade, hit EE, Dinosaur and then head over to Epcot for our fun filled night.
In the past Epcot was not on the top of our priority list as far as parks go, so we would just hit future world and call it a day. However as I hear more about all the great things World Show Case has to offer makes me want to spend more time there. On our last trip we did finally walk around the world but I didn’t explore any of the countries or eat at any of the restaurants. So for that reason we have dedicated tonight as World Show Case Night. I plan to stroll leisurely through the countries and check out everything they have to offer. We have a 7:00pm dinner ressie at Via Napoli (new one) and then plan to watch Illuminations after. Overall I think it should be an awesome night and I am looking forward to it.

i've actually had the debit card thing happen to me and it was a disaster, we were with BOA at the time and we left them because they were really awful with helping. I'm so glad you got it worked out!
Garden Grill and Ohana is awesoem, I haven't been to any of the other places to eat, so I can't wait to hear what you have to say about them in your TR.
I can't believe the reactions of those kids who didn't want to go to WDW, I was shocked.
