The "There's Too Many Titles for This TR" Trip Report - COMPLETE!! 6/29/10 - Page 7 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Well Marnie, I have been looking for your trip report for days now.....only to realize that it was in the cruise section! Duh!
Well, I am just glad I found it!
Love all of the pictures! It looks like you had fun at Seaworld! When I saw the penguin pics, all I could think about was the movie " Happy Feet " .
I can't believe how big your kids are getting! And when did Alexa get glasses?
She looks so cute in them!
Well, now that I finally found this report, I will try and keep up!
Just got all caught up. SeaWorld seemed nice. I went to the San Diego one when I was little and have been dying to take my girls there, I just don't want to leave Disney when we are there. I may try next year.
I read somewhere they were already putting up the christmas lights that is why the crane was there. Too bad you couldn't get your Castle pic.
Don't you love it when husbands are so vague and get mad at you when you don't understand. I don't blame you for the "for sale" signs!
I think we headed down to the bus stop to head back to MK around 5, or not long after. Again, it was a long wait for a bus, and we all squished on. It wasn’t raining at the Dolphin when we left, but it was raining at MK when we arrived. We donned the ponchos, and headed thru the turnstiles. We were going to take the train to MK but the train was shut down due to lightning in the area (must have happened before we got there because there was no thunder and lightning now). This became the theme of the night, as ALL the outdoor attractions were shutdown due to lightning. Ugh.
We walked over to the “mountains” since we didn’t get to do them this morning, and Splash had the cars going, but no people on them. Now what to do? We were hungry, so it was dinner at Pecos Bill’s. Alexa had the kid’s chicken salad meal, Colin was supposed to share my chicken wrap, and Matt got a fried chicken dinner with gravy and fries. With drinks, it was $29.13. We found a place to sit outside, across from the McDonald’s fry car, but under the protection of the building. Tummies full, we headed to Pirates (since it seemed the outside stuff was still closed) and waited in line for about 15 minutes. That done, in the shop outside the attraction, Colin found a toy he just HAD to have! I told him no, we still had the entire cruise to go and he could pick something on the boat or at DTD when we got off the boat. So that led to crabbiness!
On to Splash, which I think was only showing a 20 minute wait. And it was about that, maybe a little quicker. We had the ponchos on already, so we wouldn’t get any wetter! Now on to BTMRR and the longest wait of the night. At least 30 minutes, and the standby line did just that, stood by, while the FP line kept moving, and moving, and moving. Not sure if they ended up giving FPs to everyone in line when the lightning started, but the FP line was as long as the standby line. Anyway, itw as a good ride, but I don’t think I’d wait that long again! On to Haunted Mansion, so Alexa could overcome another fear (I don’t think she’s ever been on this ride…..maybe once when she was 4 and Colin was 1). I talked her thru it, and she was fine. Another one conquered!! Next up was IASW, and of course, something happened right before we got on, and it went from being a walk on to a 10 minute wait.
Peter Pan’s wait was close to 50 minutes I think, so we skipped that. Spectro was starting, but no one wanted to watch it. Colin wanted his toy gun in PotC, so Matt took him over there, while Alexa and I went on the Carousel. We’d just meet up by the train station after they got their purchase, as everyone was tired and with the cruise tomorrow, I didn’t want to push it!
On the Carousel, there was a girl who kept walking around the inside. I’m not sure if she was looking for Cinderella’s horse or what, but just kept searching and searching in circles. The CM didn’t see her, and the ride started, and then quickly stopped, as I guess the CM finally saw her and told her to get on a horse. That done, Alexa didn’t want to ride anything else, so we started making our way to the front of the park. We couldn’t go thru the Castle, so we went across near Cosmic Ray’s and got to see the tail end of Spectro. We walked with the throngs of people down Main Street, and waited. And waited. The boys, of course, got caught in the Spectro traffic in Frontierland and couldn’t cross to get to the other side. They finally showed up around 10, just as Wishes was starting. We watched it from the front of the park, as we walked to the bus stop.
It wasn’t long for a bus, and we were soon back at the Dolphin. Matt was now hungry, and wanted an ice cream (and to sit down at the Fountain). I told him he could get an ice cream, but we were not sitting down, the kids were exhausted. We decided just to go to Picabu and get some snacks and eat them upstairs in the room ($6.68). I tried to start packing up our stuff since tomorrow we were driving to Port Canaveral. Thankfully, I never really unpacked it, so it just took some rearranging and putting away things we had used. I think we were in bed by 11 again, and drifting off to sleep.
Coming up next……….You only brought one? And Welcome Aboard!!
Great update, Marnie! Can't wait to hear about arriving on the ship! Sounds like y'all got a good bit done during your time at WDW before you sailed!!!!
More, please!
