Forums Closed
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.

So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.

Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.

And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.

We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.

There are other changes as well.

Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:

We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.

It's time to move on and move forward.

PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.

But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.

So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.

And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.

That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!

If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.

So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Best wishes for a wonderful and magical new year!

Thank you to whomever posted the picture of the Falafel Sandwich from Morocco. As I was looking through their menu I didn't find it on there and thought there would be nothing for me to eat in Morocco. I absolutely love Falafels (however the best ones are in Israel) but this would make me the happiest person alive just to go by Morocco in WSC and be able to enjoy one again.

I think my DH is going to think I'm nuts going back through all of the pages on here and the link for the snacks at Disney to write down and compose my list of places to stop for B/L/D/S and what I'll actually eat from there Especially since I'm the picky eater. Are the individual pizzas even at CS really as big as they look? I could more than likely share that with DS who won't need to be on a dining plan and let DH use his Dining Credits for his food and if he's still hungry he can eat whatever we don't finish of ours, and if he's still hungry can buy something later. The way someone described the pizza, salad combo being rather large, I eat mostly salads and would probably only touch a couple pieces of pizza as would DS, so hubby could defanitely eat any leftover pizza we wouldn't eat. Thanks for posting these. Size portion does help especially with someone who eats like a bird, and is traveling with a bottomless pit.

Kara,
I'm guessing so. I saw them make them on Rachel Ray as well as the big cookie ice cream sandwiches so that I could try to make it at home. I'm still on a mission to make one at home this big and cover it in chocolate. I thought it looked heavenly when I saw it on Rachael Ray and then saw my friend with a picture of his. I think he said he paid $12 or so for it but said it was worth every penny.

Come to think of it, this is what I remember my little brother and I eating on our last trip to Disney (he had the pizza, I had the Speghetti minus the meatballs). Thanks for the pix. By the way as I look through all these pages, DH keeps leaning over my shoulder asking what some of the dishes are, or commenting that looks good, scroll back to that. He is such a foodie (no wonder why he was a Cullinary Arts student in College which I'm trying to get him to finish up). Thanks for all these great inspirations to guide us where to eat on our next trip.

it was pretty good, we are eating there halloween night at MNSSP this year.
I need to learn to spell half the stuff lol
I read alot where ppl arent so crazy bout the food at TONYS but we really enjoyed it.

Most of my dining at Disney has been QS/CS. Nothing Fancy. I don't eat red meat, but I have seen so many Chicken Dishes that look absolutely divine, even some sandwiches that would appeal to my unadventerous palate. As I need visual aids to know what something is, this forum is out of this world helpful.

I am not that fancy either, I am a big grilled chicken fan, and have eaten alot of chicken lunches/dinners there. I dont eat that much red meat either.. just a burger every now and again and it has to be well done.
and also, I loved at CHH the hummis sandwich I forgot the real name, its on all ears it has hummis and cole slaw, and I do not eat cole slaw.

Janis, thanks for the information. The last time I went my little brother was 3 (now 12) so we had to pick a restaurant that even a 3 year old could find something on the menu. The speghetti was perfect for me. Sadly we were in a rush through our meal though since we had planes to catch back home (dad and bro back to Boston, and Sis and I back to WPB, FL-only a 45 minute flight since neither one of us had our licenses to drive yet). I thought their food was pretty good. I couldn't recall what my dad or sis ordered, but know little bro and I went for pizza and speghetti. DH loves his Red Meat. I have a hot dog every now and then but that's rare for me. As long as there's some form of chicken or a delicious salad on the menu, I'm all set

BTW, I'll see if I can get that big Chocolate Covered Mickey Rice Krispy Treat made and I'll share how I did it with everyone to create at home when you're having Disney Withdrawl and need something to remind you of Disney and not spend $12 on it. I'm dying to buy some pretzel rods and other things to make those yummy Creative Pretzel Rods at home too.

Janice, someone else on here mentioned she makes the smaller ones on popcicle sticks with the mickey head cookie cutter, but says the ears fall off. I guess you can make them making balls out of the Rice Krispy Treat Mix (I know it's a whole box of rice krispies, a bag of the big jet puffed marshmallows, a stick of butter, and as our family's secret ingredient a tsp. of vanilla (they come out so yummy with the hint of vanilla in them)). I still am working on getting mine as thick in a pan first like my mom used to make them for us. Mine the last time didn't set right. I think for the chocolate which you can get pretty inexpensive is head to the Craft Store and in the Cake and Candy section they make Chocolate Melts which you can melt in the microwave too if you don't have a double boiler (we've made Chocolate Covered Strawberries once melting chocolate in a double boiler) and choose what kind of chocolate you want to make it with. Too bad I don't have a pic of something else I made once out of those chocolate melts. We took a family trip to Amelia Island (it's 45 min. away from Jacksonville, FL) and there was a shop that sold chocolate covered popcorn. It was absolutely delicious. I made mine with air popped popcorn and it tasted just like theirs.

I'm glad that allears.net has recipes from Disney on it, so maybe I can surprise my Mother-in-law with the French Toast Loaf. DH thought that looked heavenly. That is something I won't have any trouble making. I just hope it comes out tasting just like WDW's.
