As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:

It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.

Sheri and I had tried Flying Fish in February 2010 and really, really liked it. She’s been back a time or two but it had been two long years for me. This place did not disappoint! Here’s the menu: Flying Fish Cafe Menu - Boardwalk
We decided they based this picture on the two of us -- Sheri is the more endowed young woman in pink, and she is certain that I am the saucy one flashing my skirt up in green -- YOU decide.
Oh, now here are our actual selves:
You want all the FAB details, right? Sheri had the Harvest Apple Martini (Russian vodka, sour apple pucker, ginger, apple cider, and cranberry juice) and I had the Boardwalk Bay Breeze (Absolut Pears vodka, cranberry & pineapple juices with a splash of ginger ale). We were off to a good start. Cheers to you, dahling!
If you’ve ever dined with me at WDW, you won’t be a bit surprised to see what I chose for my salad -- and I nearly this plate clean, and did not give Sheri one bite.
I ordered the Potato-wrapped Red Snapper (which I’d enjoyed so much in 2010, and it is still to die for) and Sheri got the New York Strip Steak which she pronounced one of the best steaks she’s evah had, dahling!
Of course we were too stuffed for dessert, but they brought me the most beautiful and yummy birthday dessert which we managed to consume. And yes, the "happy birthday" is chocolate, thank you very much!
Then we rolled outta there and a kind Cast Member took our pics in front of the sign -- and I'm sure they're going to use this to advertise the place, because how often do two such scrumptious gals visit the Flying Fish? I mean rahlly, dahling!
We walked around the boardwalk to our Beach Club room -- ah! I could get used to this!
Now, since we could walk out our patio door and head straight to the hot tub, that’s exactly what we did. It was simply divine, dahlings!
Here’s a photo I took from the hot tub area, looking across the quiet pool to our room – it’s the first-floor doorway with the lights on, just left of the center of the pic. Too perfect! And with that, I'll leave you for a few days -- my weekend is going to be a busy one! I have oodles more to share with you, my dahlings!
Oh, by the way, Sheri can fall asleep faster than anyone I've ever known, even if the room isn't quiet. It's a good thing she gave me the bed nearest the bathroom -- I would shower every night, talking away to Sheri, and then when she'd quit answering me I'd look around and she'd be in her bed with the covers pulled up -- completely zonked out. I wish I could sleep that well!

I love the idea of your presentation and I'd be fascinated to hear what you end up saying in it, if you wouldn't mind sharing it? I'm a huge architecture fan and that sounds like an amazing topic!

Cheryl, I will definitely share my presentation info, probably in this Trip Report. I can't seem to find much in the way of published books on the architecture of WDW. I've got the paperback Imagineering Guides to MK, Epcot, & DHS and will be ordering the one on AK soon from Amazon.
I guess Disney doesn't allow many books, giving away its secrets. Someone earlier in this TR said they'd love a book or a video on the Tree of Life carvings. So would I! I've googled around but haven't found anything on it.
I would LOVE to take the Sunrise Safari sometime, but I doubt I'll ever be able to spend enough for Concierge level at AKL.
So many fascinating things to explore, so little money!
