As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:

It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.

At the Contempoary, in the lobby they opened a nice little coffee bar. Didn't accept the DDP .... but after traveling all day it was great getting a good cup of coffee even though it was the cost of a Starbucks for a small cup.
What surprised me is at The Wave for breakfast we ordered the pressed coffee. It was weak and cold. I asked if we could get a fresh hot one. Quickly returned with hot but it was still extremely weak.
Rest of the week just had withdrawal .. going to DL in April so hopefully they will have good coffee.
I had coffee at the Contemporary as well. A capp. and it was perfect. It's the new coffee vendor for the parks. For the life of me I can't remember. Although I will say, I drink it STRONG (4 shots in my large coffee) and unlike Starbucks they didn't charge me for the extra shots, so that's a plus. AND he made it right, which is hard for me as I'm SUPER picky on how my coffee is made!

Oh, I'd be very happy if they got something better than the nasty nescafe! Although I don't really drink coffee any more (b/c of my Crohn's), my mom is a coffee junkie and she will be thrilled if they have something stronger! She always hits Kona cafe and Boma for coffee.
We stayed club level at AKL once and the coffee machine they have in the lounge is AMAZING! I made more lattes than I could even count!!!
We'll be staying Club Level at WL in a month, so I'll have to see if Nescafe is still there...crossing my fingers it isn't.
As far as tea, I've been happy that they have gotten twinnings in individual bags, it's much better than lipton.

Thank goodness. That is one bad thing about WDW, the coffee is horrible. It is usually a case of me drinking it because bad coffee is better to my system than no coffee.

I was there about 3 weeks ago and the coffee in the Foodcourts was still the same. You can get brewed Coffee at several locations in WDW. But not in the foodcourts. I would not count on it being any better in the future.... meaning they will not be offering brewed coffee for the Masses in the foodcourts. Sorry to disappoint you. Brewed coffee needs to be made fresh every 20 minutes and kept hot without burning or the quality goes down fast. Currently the system they have for coffee offers the quickest and consistant method for providing Coffee to large numbers of Guests.

There was a neat little coffee place in DHS by Tower of Terror that I was able to get a cappuccino from. It was pretty strong stuff (at least for me) and I had to keep adding cream to it to get rid of the bitter taste. It was decent and it seemed pretty popular.
Oh, I'd be very happy if they got something better than the nasty nescafe! .
The real problem is that it is piped in as a liquid concentrate which, if you see it, is not at all appetizing! The Official Disney mugs help, though. I take advantage of the in-room coffee brewing.

Yeah, Dun-kin Donuts isn't as $$$$ as Starbucks coffee. It's ridiculous how much they charge. Although I personally love McDonald's Caramel Frappe's and Strawberry Banana smoothies and they aren't as expensive as Starbucks.
We're such coffee snobs that my DH wants us to get a rental car for morning coffee runs...talk about expensive coffee fixes
I told him we'd just have to 'deal' with Disney coffee...but seriously, you'd think they'd come up with SOMETHING better than that stuff they sell! Maybe next time we need to stay at the Poly just for our Kona coffee
