The "Together the Magic Continues - As a Family" Trip Report. Aug 26 - Sept 6 at POP - COMPLETE!! 11/15 - Page 6 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Day 7, Wednesday Sept 2 MK and 1900 Park Faire: Best day of the trip
Woke this morning to the sound of Thunder . . .. . . . Ok, sorry for that little Bob Seger prologue there, but we did wake up to the sound of thunder this morning and we are from Michigan, just like Bob Seger so it seemed appropriate. J I dodged the raindrops for my morning cup of coffee this morning and was a bit dismayed. We have barely seen rain all week and now this???? The day we have such high expectations for and it rains. Aw well, as always, coffee makes things seem a bit better, so I go back to the room, rally the troops and off to Magic Kingdom we go. This is the morning we MUST see Tinkerbell for Liz. Liz feels almost as much devotion for Tink as I do for Cinderella so I was really hoping for a good experience with her. We arrive around 9:30 so we just head straight for Toontown to line up for the fairies. We are around the 6th or 7th family to see her. We are admitted back to the greeting area and Tinkerbell actually comes running out to greet us. Incredibly she takesby the hand and says “come fly with me!” and they run into the room. Liz was absolutely in heaven. She had the biggest most beautiful smile. I was so happy for her:
A few pictures.
Liz has her sign her backpack. Note the color! Tink just loved it.
The other fairy was Rosetta. She had a delightful English Accent. After this we went right over to Minnie and Mickey’s house. Still raining! Here are a few pictures of our meeting with Mickey and Minnie. Mickey is my son’s favorite character. J
Heres one of all of us:
Now it was time to visit the Princesses, and naturally my girl, Cinderella. She was a wonderful Cinderella! She greeted me and signed a shirt I planned on wearing to 1900 Park Faire that evening. She was sooooo into Character. When we walked in she waved, smiled and spun around. Liz told her how big a fan of her I am and we had a picture taken with just her and I:
And one of the three of us:
Now we went to ride the Barnstormer. Still lots of rain and no crowds. We rode it in a pretty good rain. Definitely a different ride in the rain. Now it was on to see Jordan’s favorite Princess: Ariel.
By now it was getting on to lunch time so we hit a few more attractions then headed to the hotel room to dry out and have some lunch. Dry and refueled we head back to MK for the afternoon and our dinner at 1900 Park Faire. When we get to MK, Brendan gets sidetracked by a CM with a Hula Hoop. As I go back to retrieve him, a photopass photographer captures one of my favorite pictures of Brendan and myself:
Note my shirt for our 1900 PF dinner. J
When it gets close to dinner time we hop a monorail to the Grand Floridian. We are seated right away and it wasn’t long our server came by. She looks familiar and she gives us a long look and asks us if we were here a long time ago and I proposed? Yes! That’s why she looked familiar. She was our waitress that night last Winter when I proposed! She remembered us. How sweet! Her name is Afaf.:
It made us feel so special that she remembered us. It wasn’t long before Lady Trumaine came by. Ooooh it never goes good for me when she sees my Cinderella shirt, and my Cinderella necklace. Druzilla would only take a picture with me if she put my napkin on to cover up my Cinderella shirt:
But the joke was on her!:
I don't think she cared for Cheyenne's shirt too much either:
Then Prince Charming came by and gave Brendan a few pointers on royal princely conduct:
Finally Cinderella came by and it was show time! Liz knew I was up to something. Does she look worried?
I reminded her of how she helped me propose and that we were married now and living happily ever after. I then pulled out two matching shirts for Liz and myself that I made. (Liz didn’t know about any of this.) They show various poses of Cinderella as she progresses through the phases of her life, and ends up with her in a wedding veil. The caption I wrote on the bottom was “NEVER GIVE UP ON A WISH YOUR HEART MAKES, BRENT AND LIZ 2009”.
I then had Cinderella sign them and presented them to Liz.
It was a very special moment. Cinderella then poses for pictures with us and smiles and tells us it’s nice to be a part of real life happy endings.
Brendan was even getting into the Cinderella thing:
He went up to get more food later and I went looking for him and he was dancing with Cinderella! He never let the napkin she signed for him out of his sight, and even now it proudly sits on his dresser.
Next our wonderful waittress brought us a complimentary dessert tray in honor of our special occasion, and thus the name of our trip report:
What a great ending to a great day!
Next Up:
Blizzard Beach and Chef Mickey. Later on: Our last full day and Breakfast at the Castle. And finally: Just before we leave for home, Tinkerbell gives me a very hard time.
Brent

Great update! That was so cool with Liz and Tink! I just Tink!
What a great time you all had at 1900 Park Fare. The shirts you had made were such a nice touch!

OMG.....this was an awesome day! Just one of those "Disney Magic Days!" I have admit the begining weather had me a bit concerned but I was really looking fwd to dinner at 1900 PF since that held such significance for us! So we donned our rain gear and braved the storm.....quite litterally!
I had been looking fwd to seeing TinkerBell since we even started thinking about the trip....She is just sooo Tink! I was also worried tho, a bad Tink experience might just be bad. Ya know, mess up the image I had. But it was incredible! She kept signing my bagellini over and over, she said "well, I'll sign it here, and here and here and oh, how about over here!"
So then we walked around toontown for a bit.... I always find this sculpture quite funny! I know its "the thinker", but I always say he looks more like "the stinker" and the kids laugh......dumb, I know, still it makes me smile! LOL The things Brent puts up with!!! He MUST really love me!
The dinner at 1900 PF was incredible! I can't believe we had the same waitress and that SHE remembered US!!!! What are the chances!?!??! Check out this pic of Brent waiting for Cinderella to come to our table........isn't he darling?!?
I love this pic! The stepmother is sooooo funny! She can bring Brent to his knees with one glare! I honestly think he fears her!! LOL
This was our Gubby, (Cheyenne) or as Brent playfully calls her "the Rare Gubbadias" with little Mermaid. Just thought it was kinda cool!
I feel as tho our DD, Victoria, has been a little illusive as far as photos for this days wrap up....just throwing this one in for that reason! Doesn't our teenager look as thrilled as can be to be walking around with mom and dad in the rain at Disney! LOL
The shirts Brent made for us were incredibly romantic! The pic in his report shows it closer up but each scene signifies a point in our relationship. To most people, the details would be lost on them, but I know and he knows, what each one means! What an incredible hubby I have! I DO love him!
