We're going to WDW! Adventures of a Mom & Toddler Trip, PTR - Page 58 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

The Disney Magic may not be quite over after our trip ends. I looke online last night and Disney On Ice-Toy Story 3 will be by us at the end of October. Erick & I have been thinking of what besides clothes to get Skyler for the Holidays and that is perfect. With his and my love of Toy Story and my love of Disney & Figure Skating, it will be a great giftfor him(even 2 months early). I haven't seen Disney On Ice since I was 8 when we went for a Girl Scout Field Trip(an in our uniforms too). I will get those tickets when we return, but at least Disney in sone form won't be over from when we get back.
Thanks so much. Disney On Ice I think will be a great experience for him. I'm just now waiting to see if DFil can come with too. DMil said she can go! I think we'll have fun seeing it.
We gave Stefanie tickets to Disney on Ice: 100 Years of Magic for Christmas a few years back and we all loved it!
Reay? I'm glad to hear You all really loved it Cam. Since someof the Disney On Ice Shows are hard to come by andhe's the right age for it, I think he'll enjoy it.
Since Erick isn't into anything on figure skates, and has to work te Saturday it is here, and DFil has a Soccer Recertification that day, it looks like DMil, Skyler & I are going to see disney On Ice:Pixar's Toy Story 3. I can't wait.
We had a fewmore last minute things to get done today, and I have my eye glass prescription, foubd a Mickey Journal at Target, along with a second pair of children's ear planes for him, self laminating luggage tags (I cheated and photocopied the cute Disney ones in my booklet so they're all Disney, not Jetblue ones), a few folders for any papers, and aluggage scale(since DFil has me panicked my pink rolling suitcase has clothes and no room for anything else, and thatthey're over weight, etc) and I'm using Erick's non-rolling duffle for everything
else, so we hadto go to 3 Targets to find one, and I walked out of there with another olling 28" pink matching suitcase. We're going to transfer everythin from the duffle, so everything's on wheels, and bring thr other duffle with just incase. When we get home tomorrow the car is getting cleaned out and the car will be packed and ready to go. My only stop on the way home from Skyler's Dentist appointment will be o the bank to get 5's, 1's, and quarters for laundry at Disney, so I can get the tip envelopes completely done(I know, I'm slacking there, but it's easy peasy, lemon squeezy). Almost time to go.
I also forgot to mention, I do have a great new book to bring with me that arrived in the mail for my tip on packing the single powdered form of Pedialyte for those traveling with little ones. I know us adults can drink Gatorade for Dehydration but not little ones. Since I know it's still hot down there, it's packed in my suitcase. I hope that tip can be helpful for others, whether needed or not, but hope I can help prevent a little one from needing an IV while at Disney or a Hospital Trip for Dehydration. So that will be in a Passporter Newsletter. I got the Passporter for DCL, since I hope to take a DCL Cruise in the near future. So that will be my great read if Skyler lets me read on the planes. Thank you Dave & Jennifer for my DCL Passporter.

Cheryl, how cool Disney On Ice has a show at the same time over by you at the same time
we're planning to go. The one we're going to is a month from today on 10/23. Wow, time is going to fly for that too. I hope you and Mark enjoy your's. Thanks, I remember the last one I went to being tons of fun and always wanting to see a another show with a different theme.
Skyler just got a Trycycle recently, and has so many toys, that really I was trying to come up with other things that could certainly bring a smile to his face for us to enjoy together. I think this will do it(and I typed that while he was putting my flip flops on my feet. Gosh I love that kid).
Is today really the day I get to check in for my flight to Florida? We're notseeing my DA after all! My mom never called her(I asked when my mom called to ask me yesterday if I ha a AAA card to bring it with, and also to remind me to bring Sunglasses for both Skyler & I). I asked her since I wasn't sure if my DA still had her cats an dog. Skyler is fine with dogs, but I'm not sure around cats and didn't want DA feeling offended if we asked her to put them away in a room or outside on her fenced patio if we were to see her, just so Skyler wouldn't grab one and have them bite him. Just thinking safety for the cats and him.
I can tell by your typing that you are getting really excited
I hope things go well with your mom I'm so glad you are staying on property because its so much more magical
Take a deep breath and think that this is vacation not something that is bad I always tell my clients with anxiety to put on music that soothes and take deep calming breaths and remind yourself you are going to disneyworld I do that for myself when I get stressed out from packing, etc LOL
BTW what is your schedule again??? so I can remember where you are etc

Thanks so much Crissy(sorry some of my typing and typos have to do with I'm typing on my iPhone not the computer). I am so excited. Mom's suggestion is far behind me now. Since Skyler has been up early today since we had to bring Erick to work so I could get Skyler to his Dentist appointment, I hope hetakes a nap afterI feed him lunch so I can get the rest ofthe packing done during his nap! I'llhave an update coming right up and I'll recap our parks, and ADRs.
Tip envelopes complete, now Skyler just needs to go down for a nap to finish up the packing, car and trunk will get cleaned out this afternoon, and luggage in the car tonight.
Recap on our schedule:
Tomorrow we leave here at 3:10 pm, however we'll get to the airport at noon to leave a little extra time for security and getting a gate check tag for Skyler's stroller. We get to Ft. Lauderdale at 5:40

Thursday 9/30 Day at MK, hopefully make it for Morning EMHs, and that is our departure day. DME will probably pick us up at 3:30-4:00 for our 7 somethingish flight from MCO. We won't arrive home though until 11:55pm sincewe change planes in Charlotte, NC.
Only a few more hours until I can check us in for our flight, and text Erick our confirmation # to print our boarding passes from work. I am cool asa cucumber! Luckily I am good at not sleeping through my alarm clock and hear it go off when it does, so evwn with sleeping in tomorrow, we'll be up and ready to go. I think Skyler will be a sleepyhead on the plane!
