An Animal Kingdom State of Being with Cam and Fam COMPLETED 9/18 - Page 57 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Well....I am *just* 56 pages behind here.....but I get to look forward to lots of good reading! I am going to make notes as I go in a Word Doc, then post when I catch up!
* Love, love, love the pics of Stefanie in the cockpit – such a experience!
* Donkey sounds like a riot!!!
* Maybe I’m just being a Disney ‘snob’, but the characters don’t look as nicely done as Disney ones – for instance, Shrek looks very ‘plastic’. Scooby looked good though....
* Wow! Those crowds at HP! We’ve been at MK on the 4th and I couldn’t handle those crowds – these looked just as bad!
* Mmmmm....that Summer Breeze cocktail is right up my alley – anything with Malibu in it and I’m sold
* I can’t believe how many rides Luke broke while at IOA!
* Oh poor Luke! Hobbling around on a broken toe doesn’t sound like a very fun time....
* Love the wand! A friend of mine at work bought a Sorting Hat and she wears it when the school has ‘hat day’. She teaches first grade though, so the idea of it is a bit lost on the 6 year olds
* Luke did a great job of capturing a pic of the gates!
* That Darth Vadar cupcake looks delicious
* You certainly had some great ‘visitors’ to the savanna while you were first sitting out
* I laughed out loud at you turning ‘teacher’ – I do that occasionally when we are out too!
* Hmmmm??? Your pics from after dinner at Boma were not showing up for me? I’ll check back later....
* The pictures with Mickey and Minnie are just adorable!
* Glad you heard back from Disney and that they made some amends for the run around you got upon check in
Phew! 3 hours later, I am caught up! Great TR so far Cam! Now I can look at your FB pics - I didn't want to spoil the TR either

Up Next: New Adventures in Fantasyland and It truly is a Small World
First, this update won’t be very long as I had trouble with Photobucket uploading my pics yesterday and then I wanted to watch Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 last night. Then today I worked with two teachers on our curriculum for school and ran errands in the afternoon. But I did finally get a few photos up to do a mini update. So here goes.
June 8 Part 2
As we headed to Fantasyland, Luke tried to get some photos of the new Fantasyland construction.
Then we were off flying over London and Neverland on Peter Pan’s Flight. Still love this ride! During the ride the hungries hit Stefanie as she announced so over London. :rolf: Since it was time to munch, lunch was at Pinocchio’s Village Haus due to its proximity to PPF and it has pizza, next to chicken nuggets Stefanie’s favorite Disney food. Stefanie and I shared a Pepperoni Pizza and Caesar Salad with a large coke (sounds a lot like our Toy Story Pizza Planet meal ) . Luke had a meatball sub with fries. Unlike Pizza Planet there was no table search as you have to have fun before you can have table. We ate in a room when had never been in before. I loved the stain glass in here and while, Luke and Stefanie finished up, I took some pictures.
As we exited Pinocchio’s Luke snapped a picture of the castle. Can never have enough of the castle shots.
Then as we were headed to the restrooms who should appear? Pinocchio himself! Of course, we had to stop and chat. Another character interaction!
And some more construction.
Once we said goodbye to Pinocchio, we headed to Mickey’s Philharmagic to use the bonus FastPasses for it that came with the ones for PPF. Stefanie still scolded Donald throughout for taking Mickey’s hat in the first place and then giggled when she turned to see his butt sticking out of the wall.
As we left Philharmagic, we were wondering this shop we’ve been in countless time, but instead of merchandise I noticed the Giant from Jack and the Beanstalk for the very first time. Neither Luke nor Stefanie remembered it, so we got a photo. I love how we can still find new things every single time we come back.
Next up was Snow White’s Scary Adventures as Luke and I knew we needed one last ride before a classic was gone forever. Stefanie must have asked us a dozen times on the ride why it couldn’t stay. She will miss this one. It was so sad to hear her say, “Goodbye, Dopey! We won’t see you again!”
Then we headed off to try out the new interactive queue to The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh. All three of us did lots of playing and I took lots of shots (but I’ve weeded them down so Photobucket will at least load some of them tonight).
(This one reminds me that we came home to quite a bit of mole damage to both our front and back yards. It or they help to uproot one of our Colorado Blue Spruces. Little varmits!)
The line had not been that long, but playing with all the interactive games does slow down your trip into the ride. We all three give the new queue three thumbs up!
Once we climbed out of our honey pots, we walked right over to it’s a small world for a cool boat ride in a classic.
Up Next: Another new queue, a small world encounter (that I didn’t get to today), and a little shopping.
Great update, love seeing how much they have gotten to already in terms of construction, I am so excited to see the finished product
You got a great deal done in Fantasyland...you know I have seen the giant in someone else's TR and always say I have to look for it when we are there....but then I always forget. Since my trip is not too long from now, hoepfully it will still stay fresh in my mind.
You got a lot done in Fantasyland! Thanks for reminding me to ride Snow White one last time on my next trip. It's never been a favorite of mine, but I'll still miss it. I sure hope all this construction and destruction will be worth it!

So sad about Snow White's Adventure I will have to make sure I get on that ride next month before it goes away. How was the lunch at the Village Haus? I'm thinking of going there this trip for one of our lunches.
Unlike Pizza Planet there was no table search as you have to have fun before you can have table.
So, what kind of fun do you have to have before they'll let you sit down?
(Sorry, I read that 3 times before I finally figured out what you meant!)
Aww, I'm sorry Stefanie was sad about Snow White. Hopefully she'll be happier when the Mine Ride is finished.
Glad you took a photo of the Giant! that's been on my list of things to find, but we didn't do much in Fantasyland this time. I woul dhave loved to go through the interactive queue for Pooh, but we felt kinda odd doing it without any little ones with us. Guess I need to bring out my 'inner child' and just do it!
Love Fantsyland. Your pix are great. Like others, I have never seen the giant. I read several comments on the HP opening this weekend. My wife and I will be watching HP, part 1 this afternoon and then we are going to see part 2 this evening. I can't remember when we have been in the crowd on an opening weekend for a movie much less for one as big as this one. There will be five of us, I am the only one not 3D challenged so I will suffer through the 2D version
Tell Stephanie not to worry about not seeing Dopey theres allways a chance somewhere down the line we'll cross paths
Hopefully, our paths will cross some day!

For once we weren't distracted by all the merchandise and I looked up and saw him.

I'm getting anxious to see the final product. I'm hoping some of it will be ready for our June trip 2012.

Sorry photobucket is acting up - hope it's fixed soon!
It's bizarre right now. I have to keep my cursor moving to keep the pictures uploading to Photobucket. Quite annoying as I like to set them to upload and then do other stuff.

The pizza is your average Disney pizza, but Stefanie and I both love it. And Luke said the meatball sub was delicious.

Okay, now I'm laughing at my own blooper. Fun was had, but it's food you need to get a table. Obviously, I didn't proofread last night's update.
Luke and I played almost as much as Stefanie in the Winnie the Pooh queue.

We're going to the 3D version as Stefanie has decided to spend the evening with her grandparents. She has trouble getting the 3D glasses to stay up as they are so big on her little head.

I was just thinking the other day that there was an emptiness in TRs as we don't have one from you going right now.
