As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Today it will just be me for most of the day and I will be up with the chickens!! I figure I need to catch a ride to AKL at around 6:00 AM as I need to be at AKL by 6:45 AM to check in for my Sense of Africa tour this morning. I cannot tell you guys how excited I am about this tour!! I am sure you will all have to suffer through many photos!!
The tour lasts about 3 hours so I am thinking I will have a good hour or so afterwards to check us in and check out the Savanna!! Then I need to head to EPCOT. I was going to eat lunch at Sanaa, but instead decided to mix it up a little today since Muffin won’t be joining me until later on and head over to Epcot after my tour for Mix it, Make it, celebrate It at Epcot at 12:15 PM. I will then head back to AK.
Muffin will be finishing up his show by this time and we plan to stay in touch via text message. My first FP+ for today is for Kilimanjaro Safaris between 2:15 and 3:15. After my journey to the African Savanna, my next FP+ is from 3:35-4:35 for Expedition Everest.
I am hoping that by the time I am done surviving the Yeti, Muffin will be joining me for the last FP+ of the day. It is for the Na'vi River Journey between 5:10-6:10. After visiting Pandora, we will head back to AKL to unpack and then have a nice dinner at Jiko. We haven't eaten here for several trips and I hope it still as good as I remember it!!
We will most likely have a nightcap at Victoria Falls and then depending on how we feel, we will explore the Zawadi Marketplace, head out to the Savanna or hang out on our balcony before finishing up our first day at AKL. .

Sounds like a great day! I look forward to seeing your many photos of the Sense of Africa tour. Our last meal at Jiko was excellent! I will miss going to any Food and Wine Festival seminars this year because we arrive the day before the Festival ends. Yours sounds like fun!

PassPorter's Free-Book to Walt Disney World It’s hard to believe anything is free at Walt Disney World; but there are actually a number of things you can get or do for little to no cost. Today, we are planning on spending the day at AK!! As most of you know, this is my hands down favorite Park!! We have an ADR for Tusker House to go on Safari with Donald and the gang at 10:20 AM.
We simply cannot wait to see Pandora!! We are so looking forward to exploring this new land!!
We have a FP+ scheduled for:
Avatar Flight of Passage - 12:50-1:50
Festival of the Lion King- 2:30-3:30
Meet Favorite Disney Pals at Adventurers Outpost-3:50-4:50
Then we have the Savor the Savanna tour booked at 6:00 PM. We are both very much looking forward to this tour!! We are saving ROL for later on in the trip when we can enjoy it with the Adlers.
I'm looking forward to hearing your thoughts on the Sense of Africa tour along with the new attractions at AK! I've never eaten at Sanaa but we do love Boma so maybe one day we'll give it a try.

Thanks, Linda. For some reason, Sanaa keeps getting pushed off my list. Perhaps we will head there for a drink while staying at AKL.
Today we will most likely eat at The Mara then we are heading off to the MK. We had a tough time deciding which park to visit today and that has more to do with our schedule tomorrow, but I think this plan will work out.
We plan to enjoy the Park for the whole day. Our FP+s today are for:
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad
9:50 AM - 10:50 AM
Jungle Cruise
10:55 AM-11:55 AM
Space Mountain
11:55 AM - 12:55 PM
When we are in the queue for Space Mountain, we will see what other FP+s we can get. We will most likely skip lunch and just grab some snacks as we tour. We also want to see the Festival of Fantasy parade today.
The park closes at 6:00 PM tonight for MVMCP, so when we finish up here, we are going to the Wilderness Lodge! We have a 7:20 PM ADR for Artist Point. This was Muffin’s choice so he can get his WL fix in! I am so happy we were able to work this restaurant back into our plans after cancelling it earlier in the trip!!
Your plans for Nov 7th & 8th sound amazing. I can't wait to hear about the tours! I've visited WL and it looks like a beautiful resort so I'm glad you managed to get reservations for Artist Point. Look forward to hearing about that as well as I've never dined there.
