We're going to WDW! Adventures of a Mom & Toddler Trip, PTR - Page 53 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Thanks Holly. I hope you had a wonderful and relaxin time at the Jersey Shore. Thank you so much. I love our new camera and Erick actually loves it too, given he saw a few pictures I took of Skyler on it, even one in night mode with the flash inches away from him(he didn't move a muscle) and I am quite impressed with it. How wonderful you have an Easyshare too, and like your's too. Thank you so much for the luck with Skyler. He is getting frusterated trying hard in his speech therapy, but it seems to be working for him. Thank you also for the high recommendation on Hopkins. I'm still not having a single hesitation taking him there if we need to and our insurance will cover it(which I'm pretty sure they would accept our insurance company). I'm glad to hear you got great treatment there too, and your insurance covered them. Knowing their reputation as opposed to our local Medical Center 10 minutes down the road, I would trust the doctors at Hopkins a lot more than the one here.
Yipppppieeeee for single digits! did you add your mom already onto the ressie or waiting until you get to disney? if you have already added her I would think you could still do online check and then call to confirm that it is okay or the other way around?
Thanks so much Crissy. I can't add my mom until we get there to thr room only since she already has her tickets, and isn't going on the DDP with us. I've asked every time I've called and they said to wait to add her until we get there. I've been told a number of times by the CMs I can do Online Check in and add her once I get there, or Check in there and add her on then too. Thry did say the regular check in lines at around 7 am are non-existant if not maybe a 5 minute wait(which isn't bad at all).

Thank you so much Meg. I highly agree with you on how incredibly great it feels when it is a single digit nmber of days until a vacation, especially when you've been looking foward to it for a while. Honestly the last time I have ever been like this was in 2006 when Erick & I started dating and he was coming to visit me.
Thank you so much. The Polaroid Digital Camera we have has just upset me so much with the pictures it takes and I honestly cried when the pictures Erick took of Skyler and I on a few rides at a Carnival on Skyler's Birthday that I couldn't even touch up in Paintshop. I'm glad to know the PhotoPass Photographers will graciously take pictures using thr guests' cameras, but there is also the option to have the pictures they take put on a card and you can purchase them later too. We willcertainly have plenty of pictures(and not havig to lug around 30+ rolls of film will be so nice).
I'm so sorry you had Scarlett Fever twice whrn you were younger. I can't imagine how miserable it must have made you. Skyler was so miserable when he had it and I couldn't help but feel so bad for him and want him to get better. It felt so heartbreaking seeing him with a full body rash, high fever, strep, ear infection, dehydration, barely eating or being able to hold anything down and trying to do everything to make him more comfortable. I even felt worse it came right before his birthday and he still had Strep & the Ear Infection that I was afraid he wasn't going to be able to enjoy his birthday or birthday cake. Thank you so much. There will be a lot to celebrate this trip, and Ihope she does get it when we're there too. Thank you. I am glad Skyler is making progress and our family doctor is realizing it too. She will be be in for a shock though when I have to see her at the end of October and bring her old documentation of my sister's and my height at the age of 2 and 2 months(my sister) and the age of 4 for myself, and Skyler falling right in the middle of the 2 of us(since she keeps saying he's too small). She doesn't think I have hard evidence, but I do. At least I don't feel so guilty for him being small now.
All caught up Becki! (Busy at work this week with Saints home opener and Ole Miss/Tulane--got a little behind) Yea for single digits!!! I know how excited you must be feeling!

Heather, I can completely ubderstand with you being busy. We were watchingthe Saints season opener here and certqinly are all geared up for their Monday Night Game coming up. My DMil forgotto wear her Brees jersey, but I should have gotten a picture of us all in our Black & Gold Rooting them on. We're pulling frthem for a Repeat! Thanks Heather, I am so excited we're in the single digits and can't wait to be down there. I think besides the excitement f getting off the plane and being greeted with my mom picking us up from the airport, and Disney a few days later, I am excited to get down there so one of my Aunts who can't travel anywhere anymore after a surgery she had 5-6 years ago will get to see Skyler & I again. She hasn't seen him since he was an itty bitty 3 months old, and will be so happy to see him(and I think of all of my 2nd Cousins/and my Nephews, he's the only one she's gotten to meet). I wish we could bring her along to Disney with us too, however for Health Reasons not a good idea.

Wow single digits you are so excited. It is so wonderful that you get to see some family. It is funny that you said you were a Dolphins fan because the helmet that I had as a kid was the dolphins. I think I liked them for their colors though, aqua and orange! I hope the next few days fly by for you!
Thanks so much Cassie. How cool you had a Dolphins helmet growing up. Thanks I hope this next week flys by, however today has certainly felt like the longest day ever.
I was going to try and update today, however I've been tending to skyler waking up around 9 pm last night sick to his stomach and up all night with a sick kid, and then wound up feeling sick myself. Skyler had een all Erick's since he got home from work, with Erick not letting me sleep much and not wanting to even just heat something slightely up for Skyler to eat, expecting me to do it.
Also after checking my e-mail a few minutes ago I either feel like I want to cry or feel angry as I got an e-mail from our bank stating my personal checking account which I was planning to use on the trip and not touch Erick's & my joint account unless necessary has now been overdrawn. I haven't touched my card since depositing thst $20 that came from my old doctor's office that I overpaid 3 years ago(so that account didn't have a lot of money to begin with), but now in between my Doctor's appointment and Skyler's Speech Therapy I need o get this all straightened out as that was money for the trip, luckily the rest hasn'tbeen deposited in there yet. Hopefully tomorrow after all of that is taken care of sice Erick will be home, I can get some packing done. I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend.

Thanks so much Deb. I hope the bank accoujt gets settled before we leave. Luckily there wasn't that much money in there and the rest of my money for the trip hasn't been deposited yet. Thank you. Skyler's feeling better & I'm starting to feel better.
Thanks everyone. Checking account is cleared up. Both Skyler & I are feeling much better. Some little stomach bug thatwas making us both miserable though. I am in disbelief though. I justgot home from my Doctor's Appointment and when he asked if I had any recent pictures of Skyler, I told him I was going to bring hin some with Mickey after we return from our vacation. He actually told me he never has taken his kids to Disney. I was quite shocked. He said he was excited though that I would print out some pictures to bring him of Skyler with Mickey.
