As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!
Best wishes for a wonderful and magical new year!

Re: Colexi\'s Spring Break Adventure - Thread 3 of 3 - Updated 6/3
Day 8 – Friday, April 22nd ………An Early Start, but a Passporter Ending
It was up and at ‘em early today. EMH at MK this morning and since the crowds have been building all week, now was the time to go! We were all up and out of the room by 7:15 A great feat in itself As our luck would go this trip, a bus pulled up to the bus stop right after we had made it down there! And there was hardly anyone on it! A good sign!
We arrived at MK around 7:40, and had to wait for the rope drop. We were lucky enough to get up in the front right up next to the rope, so we’d be some of the first ones let it! Thankfully, Matt also brought the newspaper, we had something to read while we waited!
In no time at all, we were dashing down Main Street. Since we had not done the “family portrait” in front of the castle, this was the first item on the agenda I’ll scan in the Photopass picture at the end. First ride of the morning, the Indy Cars! Thankfully, there was hardly a line. We had about a 5 minute wait, but we were soon on our way! The kids enjoyed themselves as usual, and it was nice not to wait in a 30 minute line for this for once
I asked Alexa if she wanted to ride it again since the line was so short still, but she said no. I told her it was probably her last time to ride it since this was our last time in the MK this trip, and she still said no Okay dokie. We headed over to Buzz Lightyear, and stopped to take a picture with Pleakley!
The Buzz line was building, but we still made it thru in less than 10 minutes. Another great ride, although I’m sure I had a crappy score again! As usual, Matt had won again
We headed toward Fantasyland, and made a stop at the Teacups. I couldn’t even tell you the last time I was on the teacups. I’m sure it must have been when I was a little girl when I came with my parents (although I’m quite sure this is one ride my Mom would not go on )! I didn’t get sick, but I certainly got dizzy! I kept looking at Alexa so it would make it seem like nothing was spinning
The line for Dumbo was already quite long, so we opted for the Carrousel. Of course, Cinderella’s horse was waiting for Alexa
Hunger had gotten the best of us, since we hadn’t eaten yet, so we got into the long (and I do mean long) line for Scuttle’s Landing to get some food. It was the longest line in Fantasyland, and they only had one CM working there Matt went to grab a table under the pavilion next to Ariel’s Grotto. As I was waiting (and waiting) in line, I saw people lining up to meet Ariel. Gee, we’ve never done this before, maybe we should try it Boy, would I regret that statement :headsmack
We finally got our food, and sat down to eat. I think we ended up with some milk, a banana, a muffin (chocolate) and the only bagels they had left were cinnamon raisin, which Colin would not eat Ugh. After that, we hopped in line for Ariel. And waited………..and waited……….and waited. Thankfully, the kids enjoyed playing in the playground right there, because otherwise, it would have been meltdown city! It was also getting quite warm, it was going to be a hot day! The line was moving, and then it stopped for quite some time. Even though the attraction opened at 9, apparently Ariel was already tired and took a break after 25 minutes Thankfully we just beat the next closing of the line by one family I think we waited close to an hour for this, and I certainly won’t do that again! We got our picture, but it was hardly worth waiting that long for it. Live and learn!
We headed back toward Toon Town for some frozen lemonade. That helps to cool you off Then it was time for another Barnstormer run. Again, the lines were much longer than we were used to, it was probably a 20-25 minute wait It’s such a great ride, but it’s so short! The kids love it, so it’s worth it. Then it was time for a soak in Donald’s Boat. Boy, did that feel good. And boy, did the kids get wet! But they had fun doing it. Colin was soaked (dripping soaked) from head to toe, we had to change his clothes (good thing I brought a spare pair)!
It was getting close to noon, and getting crowded, so we made the decision to leave the MK We took the train from Toon Town back around to Main Street, took a potty break, and then headed out. The kids wanted to ride the monorail, so we decided to head to Epcot, via the TTC and the monorail. They were doing construction on the monorail platform at the MK, so you could only get back to the TTC via the resort side, which was very, very, crowded. We were packed in like sardines too. And it ran slow, presumably because of all the people that had to get off, and then on at the next stops. We were slowly on our way, and then made it to the TTC. When we made it up to that side, there was a green monorail there (Colin’s favorite) so he wanted to ride. But, Alexa wanted to ride in the front, and there were already people in there. So I asked the CM if we could wait for the next monorail, and ride in front. He said sure. Colin wouldn’t wait, he needed his green monorail, so he and Matt headed out on that one
]b]Matt and Colin inside the green monorail [/b]
After a few minutes, what should approach, but a “green monorail” . They’ve got both green monorails on the Epcot track today, poor Colin could have waited and ridden in the front with us! Oh well. We made out way to the front door, and there were 2 other boys from a family behind us that also rode in the front. The driver was being trained, he had another driver with him. It was a great ride, and Alexa was quite happy (as was I)
Matt was waiting on the platform when we pulled up, and videotaped our arrival! And we all got monorail pilot licenses Poor Colin had fallen asleep just moments after the monorail had pulled away from the TTC. It must have been the humming and swaying of the monorail that knocked him right out. I’m sure the heat had something to do with it today as well.
Coming Up Next........The last quest is fulfilled

Marnie, You take such great pictures! I'm really enjoying your report. Too bad about your wait for Ariel, we've been lucky and never had to wait that long for her. Can't wait to hear the rest of the story!

Riding with the pilot on the monorail is such a great experience, and you don't even need a ticket for a park to do it!

Re: Colexi\'s Spring Break Adventure - Thread 3 of 3 - Updated 6/3
Day 8 Part 2.........A Quest Completed
We made it thru the turnstiles and decide it’s lunchtime. We were all hungry. We decided on lunch at the Cantina de San Angel would be a good idea. We had a great dinner here back in December. Along the way, we say Tuck and Roll from A Bug’s Life out taking pictures near the fountains. Of course, they had just closed the line off, and stupid me didn’t take a picture of them anyway. We’ve never seen them out for meets and greets before. I would have thought they’d be in AK and not Epcot, but what a great surprise that was.
The Kristos had just started a show, and Alexa wanted to watch that. Thankfully, we found some shade. Like I said before, she really gets into the street performer/acts and loves to watch them!
We finally made it to Mexico, and found a shady table out back. I went to get lunch. Alexa had the kids meal, Matt had the cantina nachos, and I had tacos al carbon. I also got a churro and some drinks. Total was $24.63 with tax. Colin was still sleeping, so I didn’t get him anything. It was nice sitting right by the water and we enjoyed lunch. Matt then headed off in search of a restroom, and wouldn’t you know it, not 2 minutes later, Alexa has to go. I’ve got both kids, and both strollers, and Alexa starts pushing hers and does a nose dive She was fine. I started calling Matt on his cell, hoping he would pick up, and thankfully he was on his way back when he spotted us. Crisis averted, we made it to the restrooms without an incident!
Since we were now in Norway, we decided to just make our way around the WS, and exit at the IG. Matt took a picture of the roof in Norway, he thought it was quite cool!
He also went inside the Stave Church, and said that it was beautiful inside.
Next up was China. Mushu was out doing meets and greets, so we got into line for that. Matt asked the CM when Mulan was due out, and she said any minute So we woke Colin up (I know, bad parents, but he loves Mulan and had been sleeping for an hour and a half already) and brought him into line. By the time we made it up for Mushu, Mulan had arrived. What great timing that was! Everyone was happy. Colin got to see his favorite princess, and even though he was half asleep, he enjoyed it
Since Colin was now awake, he needed to eat. We went to Lotus Blossom Café, and got him so lo mein noodles. He ate a few bites, and then we made our way toward Germany.
We happened upon Dopey, so we got into line for his autograph and picture. We’ve never seen Dopey before, so this was another first
Of course, since we were passing the Kaki Gori stand, we had to purchase one. Since it was so hot, it was quite refreshing this time. We passed Aladdin and the Genie in Morocco, but Alexa didn’t want to stop! Oh well. There’s always next time. We made our usual stop at the playground, and the kids ran around for about a half hour, and made their leaf craft at the kidcot station next to it. We finally convinced them that it was time for the pool, and we made our way back to the BC.
We were greeted by some guests when we arrived back in the room
A Fish riding the waves
We quickly changed, and headed down to the kiddie pool. We found some chairs, left our stuff, and the headed over to the kiddie slide. I enjoyed the pool as well since it was so hot. The pool was quite warm though, which was fine with me. We probably stayed near the slide for about 45 minutes, before heading back to the kiddie pool. It was late by the time we headed back up to the room, probably close to 5.
We refilled our mugs, took our showers, and then headed out to Epcot. Tonight we were supposed to be meeting up with the newly engaged Karen (BritDisFan) and Allan, Rhonda (mom2my4dwarfs) and her family, Joy (grumpygal), and Larry and Bob (LLaffinPlace and UncleBob). Alexa was also on a mission to finish her “mask” that we had started a few days back (and that I kept forgetting to bring back with us) so we’d be hitting all the Kidcot stations we could find as well. I took a picture out of our window, apparently there was an event taking place down on the beach later tonight, as evidenced with all the tables and chairs out that we could see. More on that later
The Beach All Decked Up
