Forums Closed
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.

So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.

Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.

And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.

We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.

There are other changes as well.

Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:

We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.

It's time to move on and move forward.

PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.

But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.

So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.

And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.

That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!

If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.

So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Best wishes for a wonderful and magical new year!

Great update, Marnie! It looks like you have a couple of budding photographers in the family, with those pictures Alexa and Colin took. Hope Colin felt better quickly, and I can't wait to find out what came next!

Marnie,

Great update. I am glad you mentioned the arrows too close together in the Soarin' staging area because I forgot and I agree completely. We probably missed each other there by about an hour or so!

Bob and I have stopped in at the Fountainview a few times on other trips and like it a lot, and this trip we also tried breakfast at the Electric Umbrella with Sue and Deborah, which was not crowded as it often is at lunch. I liked what I got (forget what it was right now--probably an egg and bacon bagel) but not everyone was as happy with their selection. I'll try to put more info in the trip report.

More, please!

Boy, I just finish Thread 1 and what appears? Thread 2! I'm having so much fun experiencing your trip with you!

Fantasyland in about an hour! Don't you just love it when the crowd level is light!

I introduced DS#2, Chat - to the magic of being at a Disney park when it opens. He was so surprised to walk on Splash Mountain, Big Thunder, etc.! He was like a little boy again, running around the MK trying to soak it all in! There is something about going to a WDW with just one of your kids at a time. Each one experiences it so differently!

I really loved Cinderellabration - especially since my Prince isn't the Beast in the show! You took some really great pics, but I didn't see one posted of Belle and her Prince!

Glad Colin wasn't hurt too badly! Bumps can be frightening for our kids and for us! I don't blame you for needing a break after that!

Soarin' is wonderful! Made me want a CA orange!

Thanks for sharing with us - you bring WDW to life!

Re: Colexi\'s Spring Break Adventure, Thread 2 of 2 - Updated 5/14

Day 3 Part 2......Do we hit meltdown???

We started walking around the World Showcase, since Colin had just fallen asleep, there was no sense in waking him up to get onto the bus, we might as well let him sleep. We passes the topiaries at the entrance to World Showcase, and I took some pictures.

We walked past Mexico, and found a shady spot for Matt in Norway, overlooking the water. He sat and rested, and I took Alexa and went to take some pictures and start a mask at the Kidcot stations.

The roof of a building in Norway

We headed back to the pavilion in China so Alexa could start her mask. She colored it for a little bit as well, and then while we were sitting there, Mulan came out We left in search of her, but couldn’t find her anywhere Ugh, where did she go?? Oh well. We went back to get Matt, who was now more rested and relaxed, and decided to head around the countries.

There was really no agenda, and we just walked and walked. There was a little pond area between the Outpost and Germany where they had paw prints of various animals. Alexa got a piece of paper and a crayon, and shadowed (is that what it’s called) a few of the prints. We kept walking, and of course, we couldn’t get by the Kaki Gori stand without stopping to get one We finished the Kaki Gori and decided lunch might be in order, as it was close to 1 o’clock. Matt wanted Yakatori House, so we went to sit up there. I was feeling a bit more adventurous, so after he had gotten a Kaki-Age Udon noodle bowl, and some teriyaki chicken for the kids ($10.42), I headed to Morocco to get a chicken shawara sandwich ($8.47). I brought that back to the Yakitori House to finish. We were sitting right by the pond outside, and Alexa started grabbing the coins Then I look over, and she had her entire foot in the pond, she said she didn’t notice How can you not notice that your entire foot is wet Ugh, time to head back to the room. By this time, Colin was starting to wake up as well.

We passes the playground between France and Morocco, and of course, we had to stop so the kids could play. After a half an hour (and after they made a craft at the little table next door) we headed back toward the bus stop. I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to take pictures of Pooh and his friend in England

We then made it back to Canada and shot some more shots. I don’t recall seeing the Bambi topiaries before, they were so cute

There was also a golf cart that had a woman and man inside that were all over the place. I never got their names, but they were always doing a little skit which was cute!

Poor Stitch had been moved to the back of the Snow White topiary on the walkway between Future World and World Showcase. Seemed odd to me, as they seemed to be still promoting him heavily, at MK anyway!

We also noticed a sign for Minnie Mouse’s Butterfly Garden, so we headed in that direction. It was a cute little “tent” filled with plants and butterflies. Alexa was disappointed because she couldn’t get a butterfly to land on her.

After a few minutes in there, we exited, and found another playground on the other side. Colin was too small to play in this one, it said kids 6 and older. Alexa was close enough to 6, and they weren’t checking anyway. She had a great time climbing all over.

We finally made it to the front of the park, took another look at our Leave a Legacy tile, and then headed out. Of course, one last picture of the topiary at the front of the park

Coming Up Next.......Is the room ready And what are we doing tonite

Sounds like calmness after the brief meltdown! And once again, great pics. I found the Bambi one very different and liked how they configured it.

DS#2 and I the butterflies. It was my first Flower and Garden trip and thus my first time seeing them.

I love how you spend time letting the kids play in the playgrounds. You see so many parent saying, we didn't come here for you to do that - you can do that at home.

Can't wait to read more.
