The First Thing you need is a Pumpkin, (and the right Princess!) Trip report. Jan26-31. - UPDATED 3/9 with more PhotoPass Pics!! - Page 5 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Brent pretty much covered all the pics we have, so I am doing this update sans pics! Thats ok.....I have something more valuable!! The cold, hard truth! LOL
I think Brent may have *inadvertantly* left out a cute little story. So as we are walking out of the hotel to go to the park we did not immediatly locate our cute little white rental car, which I told him to park by something distinguishable........so he did......A TREE!!!! A TREE......yeah, there aren't 75 trees among the rows in the parking lot! LOL I spotted the car and said "honey, I think I see the....." Brent was still feeling a bit shaken but his earlier Aurora toasting and needing to prove himself, he cut me off with "I parked the car didn't I?? I know where I parked, let me do the thinking here!" Oh no!! Whenever I hear that phrase its sure to not end well! LOL We have some noteable history with that same quote......sigh, so I let him wander for quite a little bit, follwing 2 steps behind (and snickering), he finally spotted the car and was so proud. I told him I tried to tell you this was it 15 minutes ago! We *I* had a good chuckle about that!!
yes Liz took a nap. A short nap. This working midnight and vacationing on a day schedule was starting to catch up with me. No fear, I can power sleep for 30-60 minutes and am recharged for hours! Another thing us night shifters learn to acheive!
I just love Laugh Floor Inc! I don't care how many times I see it or how the jokes are always pretty much the same....I just love it. Evidently the kid in there before us wasn't as impressed......some gastric regergitation delayed our show just a bit.
Oh I just loved the dinner at 1900 PF. It was so amazing, as always. It has so much history. I just feel so good being there! Where things changed for us, where he proposed. Just a happy, feel good place. Now the story about the twirling. Anastasia came over to our table and tapped Brent on the shoulder, she whispered "you should dance with her and winked". Brent was all shy and I couldn't convince him, so I called out to Anastasia and informed her he wouldn't go! She quickly came back to our table and swooped him up by the hand while screaming "Cinderella!! Cinderella!! Oh, Cinderella!!!!!!" It was "game on" from there, she saw Brent and her eyes seemed to light up, they looked so royal dancing together. Anastasia stood behind them watching. She told me sometimes we just have to give guys a little boost, ya know, tell them what they 'want' to do! She is so good at giving advice about boys! She is my hero! It was so cool, he was just on cloud 9!

No, No, it was more like Annie came up and said " Well, if you love her soooooo much why don't you just go dance with her????? Then while I was busy trying to preserve the dignity of the moment for my beloved Cinderella, (and trying to not intrude on some kids who were dancing with her) Annie grabs my arm and runs up there hollering CINDERELLA!!!! CINDERELLA!!!! SHOE MAN WANTS TO DANCE WITH YOU!!!!!!
We're all just lucky Cinderella had the poise and grace to handle it with dignity.

Friday, Aug 28 Epcot and Breakfast with the Princesses.
Woke up in plenty of time this morning to get a swim in. Also went for my obligatory walk around the grounds. Saw the construction workers on the other side of the lake were already arriving to go to work. It’s taking shape fast over there. Can’t wait to have a new resort to explore! We took our time this morning as we had a 10:00 reservation at Akershush to dine with the Princesses so we didn’t have to bother with breakfast before we left. We arrived at Epcot bright and early and it was a beautiful day:
We had time to catch Soarin before breakfast. Great ride as always. The sights, sounds, smell and the illusion of flying just never gets old! We grabbed fastpasses for Test Track on our way to Akershush for Breakfast. We arrived right on time and were ushered in to meet Belle shortly thereafter. After glancing how I was dressed, she winked at me and said it looked like she was going to have to put her Beast on standby.
Actually she was a very good Belle, dignified and congenial, yet willing to play along with us, and it was a nice start to Breakfast. The Cast Member that let is in to see Belle also commented on my scarf, I believe. We were seated in the room off to the right, which was kind of new to us. We had never sat back there before. There are quite a few windows back there, so on a beautiful morning such as this it was a fantastic place to have a meal. First up was Jasmine, I believe:
They also had a parade around the restaurant where they told the children to go to the princess nearest them. Booooy was I tempted! Then the princesses led the kids around the room and I noticed a few of the princesses (as well as a few kids!) give me a double take as they walked by our table. You would think they have never seen a full grown man wearing a Cinderella shirt, shoes, necklace and scarf before? Sheeesh!
Then it was my beloved Cinderella who came up to our table. I felt the butterflies once again. Turns out she was so enchanted by my Cinderella shoes she wanted to get a picture of her slippers with them. There wasn’t much room so I don’t think we got a good picture of it but it was fun anyway.
A couple more shots of me and my beloved Cinderella:
Then I insisted on getting a picture with my two favorite princesses:
It’s always great to meet Cinderella and this one was fantastic. I’m so glad we decided to add this meal to our trip. Next up was Mulan, she was very interested in my photo book:
She was quite distressed that there was only one picture of her in it so she asked how she could get a few more pages in my book for the next trip, and before I could explain that its simply because she is so much harder to find than the other princesses, this happened!
What a surprise! And yes, Mulan, that one will definitely make the photo book for our next trip. Here's one with Liz:
Next up was Ariel:
As you can see, Mulan was still hanging around. I think she truly didn’t want to leave our table. Well, let’s be honest here, after sharing a kiss with me can you blame her??? It was a pleasure to meet Ariel too. She is our daughter Jordan’s favorite princess, and she said to tell Jordan she wants to see her too again real soon. Ok, now here’s my ‘corny line of the trip’. I told Ariel how we didn’t get to see her in mermaid form this trip because her grotto is closed for the fantasy land expansion and I asked her if she missed being able to meet people in mermaid form. She said she liked human form better because she can move around better. (Now here’s my corny line – Brace yourselves!) I told her: “I think I prefer human form too, because it DOES make it easier for you to be part of my world.” I know! I know! Boooooo. I got a smile from her though.
That was it for breakfast and what a great breakfast it was. I was hoping to see Princess Aurora at breakfast. If you’ll recall on our last trip, Aurora really tried to get me to make a shirt with just her for our next trip. Well, I did and I brought it this breakfast hoping we would see her so I could show her. Hadn’t quite worked out the details of how Cindy would take that but it would have been interesting to see how that went. Ah well maybe later in the trip? (Hint! Hint! Foreshadowing!)
We then went back to Test Track and cashed in our fastpasses. I rode Mission Space Orange by myself as Liz , in her old age, has this issue with spinning. Horrible to get old, isn’t it dearie? Then we rode Spaceship Earth. Such a classic Epcot ride. We just love it. We truly feel we are at Epcot when we’re on this ride. Then we rode Living with the Land. Love this boat ride. By now we were getting ready to go back to our resort for a quick dip to refresh ourselves then back to Epcot tonight for dinner at Le Cellier. We arrived a bit early and in the parking lot the people in the car behind us were obviously on the verge of having a family breakdown. They were weaving a little bit side to side, then we parked and they parked close to us. The father in the car gets out, opens the back door to the car, gets the baby seat out of the car and sits it on the ground. – IN THE ROAD!- Hooo boy. Then the mother gets out and he moves the baby back closer to the car and 2 more kids get out. We’ve all seen this at Disney - Some of us (Me and Liz included) have even been a part of it. The dreaded total family meltdown and breakdown! Liz and I were just walking towards the gate and watching. Oh Man it was uncomfortable! The mother strode out a few steps ahead of the father and they were just not having a good time. Anyway, we get in and pause for a photopass picture.
This one was taken with our camera, but the photopass picture has something special on it for Liz. We’ll post a picture when we get the CD. Now one from the other side of Spaceship Earth:
We had time before dinner to ride the Mexico boat ride. Still love that ride. Then we figured we would head over to LeCellier. We were seated fairly quickly. Here’s where our vacation gets a bit dicey. I don’t want to go into this part in great detail but we got some very bad news from home over dinner. To say it was a shock wouldn’t be true as we have seen it coming for quite some time but we didn’t think it would happen for at at least awhile. The news was so tragic we even discussed cutting our trip short and trying to get back home. We eventually came to the conclusion that what’s happened has happened. It would be at least this time tomorrow before we could get back home and it would only be a day and a half early at that point. We decided to stay and do our best to relax and enjoy ourselves while we were still on vacation because there would certainly be a lot to do and take care of once we got home. Dinner had taken on quite a solemn tone obviously, but it was a very good steak. Best dinner we have ever had at Le Cellier. We got out of dinner about half an hour before illuminations, and had to field a couple phone calls from home and make a couple more calls. Then we were about to head back to the resort and call it a night and try to regroup for tomorrow. At that point, two very large tour groups came in on both sides of us and we were pretty much stuck. So we decided to just stay put and watch Illuminations, and I am so glad we did. Something about the music of illuminations, and the fireworks shooting across the sky, really helped put us in a better frame of mind. We had just found out we lost a loved one back home, and the fireworks and music were almost like he was smiling down on us from up there saying “I made it” . Illuminations can always bring a tear to your eye, but Liz and I both were crying like babies at this one. After the show we slowly made our way out, and headed back to the resort, regrouped and got ready for another Epcot day tomorrow. Sorry to end this installment on such a somber note, but that was part of this vacation too. Don’t worry, things get better and we had a very good last couple days of vacation that really recharged us to face things when we got home.
Tune in for the next installment when we finally meet and get a little extra attention from Snow White, I complete a very special ‘collection’ and we meet Mulan again.
And later on in the trip: Cinderella sees my Princess Aurora shirt! You’ll want to see what happens!
My sympathies on your loss. The last year an a half I lost my grampa and my DFiL so this trip is in memory of them. I cant wait to read the rest of the TR though!

Just found your PTR. You are getting very close to going. I hope Illuminations is as touching and comforting for you and your family as it was for us.
