As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

ADR this morning? Where else but Hollywood and Vine. This is Devyn's Fave. He has a crush on June. We were the 3rd family inside and when the characters came out there was maybe 15 families. We had tons of time with all of them. The food here is basic, nothing really stands outs, which means nothing was bad either. Oh they do have yogurt in the containers. that was different. We like the games the play here better then the marching around at others. 4 TS Credits $88.99 + tip.
Finally a good photo of Crysta ( she was either on a ride or making silly faces - preteens)
After breakfast we headed to the hat Daisy was there. I like her. Then it was off to Play house Disney. I hate sitting on the floor but the little surprises for the kids is so much fun. we do it ever year. Next it was Tower of terror. Crysta had been saying all week she was NOT going on but I dragged her on any way. She literally cried the whole drop, which made me laugh (yup I'm that sensitive) For being brave Daddy got her a TOT pin. Next was fast passing Rockin' roller coaster. and watch Beauty and the beast live on stage. After we had seats I went and grabbed some snacks from KRNR - 1frozen lemonade and 3 smart waters = $13.54.
Up next was the great movie ride. If you have little kids the might not like the cowboy part and when you head into the next one is scary so have them find the penny you "dropped" on the floor of the car. after that you should be good since it's the wizard of Oz.
Lunch time - Mama Melrose. Becky made the waiter laugh with her order, she ordered if herself. He said she wasn't a normal kid because of all the fruit and veggies, he asked her if she wanted ice cream or a cookie but nope she wanted the healthy stuff. The fresh rolls were good. Apps. DH- Mozzarella and Tomatoes(really good) Me - Bruschetta (so good) Main - We both got the oven baked Chicken Parm. It was really good but next time I will let DH order first because I hate when we get the same thing, how am I going to steal a bite if it's the same. Crysta - Garden salad/Penna w/ Alfredo sauce/ fruit cup Becky - Grilled chicken/pasta w/ Alfredo yogurt parfait / salad Dessert - Becky fresh fruit Crysta - yogurt parfait Me - Mama's tiramisu (it was a drink????) DH - canoli cake. His was b way better. The great thing was we got a coffee drink with dessert. We got frozen Caps.. 4TS credits $102 + tip
We went to see Lightin' and Mater. Then it was time for Toy story it said 30 min but was really only 16, that was a breeze. Devyn loved it and Becky thought the spinning was funny. It was now time for R&RC. Love this ride. I have skipped it in the past because of the line, but we didn't even need the fast passes we got so we saved them for later. We then split for the other half of the crew we wanted to see handy Mandy. I think the did TOT again. DH took Crysta to Indiana Jones while I took the kids in to animation court. I forgot to keep the camera but there was no and I mean no line for Mickey, my little 2 got a lot of face time with Belle. and the penguins from Mary Poppins. They followed us over to The Incredibles, which my kids hid from, On our way out Snow white was leaving and the queen (who scared Devyn) was starting. Snow white stopped in her tracks when she saw Devyn had been kissed by Belle and said He needed to be even. He proudly showed off his new kisses to the Queen as we left.
For future mental notes. When DH takes the oldest kid tell him to take one stroller. I got to push the little two in the strollers all by myself from Animation court to Indy. I did it without any crashes and semi graceful too. We made it before the show started but the area DH was in was full So i gave him Becky and I took Devyn to a side section. A nice older couple say his kisses and asked about them he just kept pointing to each saying Belle, snow white. The Lady saw he had a pin lanyard and took her Snow White pin and gave it to him. Devyn has a new crush. Snow white.
After we made a mad dash to Toy story again since we were skipping dinner. We had a wait this time 35min. still not so bad.
It was late so we headed over to see if we could make Fantasmic. We missed the first one so we grabbed some burgers From Rosie's and did RRC till the next show. Becky and Devyn fell asleep but while in line for Fantasmic.
My biggest complaint about Disney's lines. You line up the cluster then line up again. So people in the back can now spring to the front and get better seats. I waited this long I should be able to keep my spot.
The little 2 woke up as the show started and the loved it. There was a slight breeze that blew the mist at us,feeling so good in the heat.
Then it was bed time for all.
