Cheaper by the Dozen – Lukas’ 1st Birthday Extravaganza! - Page 44 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Glad you're feeling better, and hope everyone else follows your lead!
I remember the days of pee wee soccer! The kids hovered around the ball in a big mass of kids, right around the midfield! Too cute! My DS is now on a U15 division 2 travel team - very different from those 3 and 4 year old games!!

LOVE Dylan and the soccer game Josie would be a hot mess with that right now, and the fact she misses the cut off kinda stinks with her Oct b-day
I almost was getting mad while reading about your massage, but since they rescheduled, I'm felling much better for you now
Bro is good as far as I know and my Mom just feels tired now so we should be good to go Saturday morning.
Dylan's bday is October too, but with the age group it's 3-5 so he's right in the middle.
On the massage they did mention 'what else we could do for you' if I wasn't able to reschedule. So I'm assuming they'd make it up to me somehow.

Can't believe how close you are now!!
I think we're all getting better. And I sure hope no one gets anything else! I think the weather changes we've been having have an effect too. Over the weekend it was cool & rainy, then sunny & warm (80s) by Monday it was 90 and then Tuesday late / early Wednesday a storm and cool front came through so it wasn't above 64 yesterday. Today is sunny with a high of 67 expected. Crazy!
My brother played select soccer and I remember all the stuff that went on with that. I wa so happy when I was old enough to stay home by myself and not have to go out of town with them for a tournament. This is different, but fun to see where it all starts.

The forecast is looking better every day! So excited!
Nothing trip wise got done last night. I did work on the schedule a little and hope to update here at work today.
Last night was Open House at the boys’ daycare. We talked with their teachers and there were representatives from the extra-curricular activities there plus sno cones and a bounce house! Dylan’s teacher said he was so smart – catching on to all the things they were learning so quickly and even doing the worksheets by himself and such a happy little boy. She also mentioned that lately every day he comes in and says he’s going to Disney. J Guess we’ve influenced him a bit. Everyone’s comments for Lukas were the same: “He loves to eat” and “He’s so cute”. I guess from an almost one year old what else can I expect. He apparently also likes to pull the little girls’ hair.
Tonight I hope to finalize the clothes packing and move on to the toiletries.
2 days to go: Seven different video games have been produced based on the movie “Aladdin”.
Pulling the little girls hair!!! I love it
Josie has been telling people for about the past 5 months that she's going on the "big boat" I think from now on I may hold off on telling her some things
WTG Mr. Dylan!! Because of his Oct B-day does he have to wait another year for kindergarten?
I can't believe you still have packing left, I thought you would have been done. Oh boy, oh boy.............2 more sleeps!!!!!!!!!!!

He does have to wait on kindergarten - he'll turn 6 right after school starts. I assume Josie is the same way.
I know! The packign is stressing me out - I pack WAY ahead of time and now it's like down to the wire. Mike still has to get out soem more clothes and if he doesn't tonight well then he has to bring an extra suitcase. I'm afraid I've overpacked this time - so only small souvies this year. (yeah right)
If he pulls their hair isn't that supposed to mean he really likes them??? Do you have a little flirt on your hands?!? Speaking of packing, now that the weather is starting to change I've been slowly boxing up Hope's summer clothes. Unfortunately, I have to put a few items to the side because I don't want to have to climb into the attic when it's time to pack for Disney. Not knowing what the weather will be like when we go is such a pain! At least you know it's going to be warm when you get there.
Nice to get two such good day-care reports on the boys! Dylan will surely be more than ready to start kindergarten by next fall. Glad everyone's health seems to be holding on. I'll keep sending the for health and weather just in case.

I think I do have a flirt on my hands. When you look at him he'll kind of turn away and smile too.
That time of year is hard to pack for as you might hit both cold & warm. Good Luck!

Dylan has 2 years before kindergarten (because of his bday) so he will surely be more than ready!
And thanks for the extra pixies!

Talk about a nice open house, I wouldn't mind a bouncy house and some snow cones (I know....just for the kids only...lol)
There were plenty of sno cones being consumed by parents & teachers too. There was also a cake and cupcakes, but since it was right before bed time I limited the sugar intake as much as possible.
