Our "No time for relaxation on this Disneymoon" pre-trip report - Page 4 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

You have great plans for both your Disney days and your Universal Day--I have to say that if you want to do anything at WWHP you need to go there first!
Thanks for the advice, I've heard the same thing from other people. I am debating on getting the Univerals fast pass that allows us front of the line access to all the rides, I know WWHP isn't included. Some people have said that since I am going at such a slow time I won't need them. But we will definatley go there first!

When I first thought about going to Walt Disney world for our Honeymoon, people thought that I was crazy. I mean how can you have a romantic relaxing vacation when you practically have to plan each and every moment? To me, relaxation is knowing how my day will go, and getting the most for the time we will be in Orlando. When my husband and I were planning out wedding, I knew I wanted to have an extra special bridal shower. My sister and mom know how much I enjoy planning and knew it would be hard for me not to be involved in the planning process of my shower. I convinced them to let me help some, so I came up with the idea of “The Mad Hatter’s Tea Party” Shower. The invitations had a cute poem “our friends will all be wearing a hat, you wear one too, we’ll have a prize for that!”. The ideas took off and before you know it I was theaming everything around Alice in Wonderland, and especially the mad hatter!
My family thought it was a bit extravagant to have everything themed, but they knew it was my personality so it went well! My DH Jeff got into it as well; he too is very excited for our upcoming trip! He asks questions every once in a while about the trip, and occasionally gives me some ideas, but for the most part wants to be surprised. This gives me a bit of power to let my imagination run wild, maybe a call to Disney Floral and Gifts may be in order
Anyways, back to the shower, we had appetizers, a main dish, sides and desserts all themed to Alice in wonderland. Below I have some pics that show how we did the food. My sister and mom did a great job of including my ideas and adding in surprises! I was so happy that my family and friends enjoyed this! And due to the theme, we got quite a bit of Disney Gift cards as gifts, which will defiantly come in handy!
Here is my DH Jeff and I, I went with a traditional fancy hat, and he had to show his team spirit for his favorite team the Pittsburgh Steelers, sadly he missed the game due to our shower
Like I said before, all of the food was themed, we had this desert which was my favorite!
Jeff got really excited with the hat and Minnie Ears we received as gifts! This pic just shows his personality, I’m sure we will have many Disney pics with his wearing this hat!
And last was a surprise from my sister and mom, they got the Mad Hatter himself to come along!
Next up will be some more background info as well as some great Disney Deals I've found!
My DH & I are huge Disney fanatics. We got the same crazy thinking from others how could we enjoy a relaxing and romantic honeymoon at Disney World. Well, sorry to disappoint the nay sayers, but my DH & I had a very relaxing and romantic honeymoon at Disney World, planned out. We had so much fun and wish we could have stayed longer than 6 nights at WDW.

Looks like a wonderful shower. People thought we were strange for taking our honeymoon in WDW, but we had a wonderful time and WDW can be very romantic. It's just everyone views it as a family destination. And it works great as that too, but it really is for everyone.
I like the second hat your DH decided to wear instead of the first one ...proud Baltimore Ravens fan here. People think I'm weird for going to Disney each year...you'll find a lot of us get that from our friends because they just don't understand. BTW, the theme of your shower.
Well, long time no post! A lot has happened, and some changes had to be made. Well, first off we are staying at the All Star Music Hotel from January 26th- February 4th. We will be traveling through air-tran airways with a departure time of 5:54pm from Cleveland Oh, and arrival in Orlando at 8:14pm. We will be relaxing on our first night and getting ready for our first morning. Another exciting bit of news I would like to announce is that I got the passporter book and….LOVE IT! It will be such a perfect asset to our trip!
Anyways we will do Magic Kingdom Friday, eat at Pacos Bills and Columbia Harbor House, MK is open from 9-8pm. We will then go to Epcot for the extra magic hours until midnight…what a long and wonderful first day. Did I mention that I want to attend all the park openings the days we go…
Saturday is our Holywood Studios Day- EMH is in the AM from 8-9, we will then enjoy the park from 9-7pm. We plan to eat at pizza planet, and maybe head over to Epcot which is open until 9 for dinner, there are so many options, It would be great to eat at as many countries as we can! Also, Magic Kingdom is open until midnight, if we see fit!
Sunday our much needed sleep in day! We will be heading to Down Town Disney today, spending time there and eating lunch at T-Rex. I am leaving the rest of the day open, we may go to Hollywood Studios for a little while which is open until 7pm, and/or MK which is open until midnight thanks to EMH. We don’t have a dinner plan, but I’m sure we can find something
Monday is our Animal Kingdom day from 8-5pm. Eating lunch at Flame tree BBQ, or getting a Turkey Leg. Dinner will be at Boma. Epcot is open until midnight today, we will either go there, or DTD for some night time fun!
Tuesday is our full Epcot day, DH is drinking around the world and we are eating at Tangerine Café and I will leave the other option open. Snacking and drinking will be fun here! Hours will be 8-9pm
Wednesday another sleep in day. We will be heading out off property, I want to go to Joe’s Crab shack for lunch, and we don’t have one near us! We will drive around and try to find some discount Disney”stuff” and go to Medieval Times for dinner.
Thursday we will go to Universal Studios/ IOA eat lunch there at Green Eggs and Ham Café, and enjoy the day. We will go to City Walk after and eat at Bubba Gump Shrimp and go to Rising Star and sing!
Friday we will go to the other Universal Park all day, we will have dinner at Epcot which is open until midnight! This sadly will be our last night
Saturday we will leave today but not until 5:45, so we will go to Animal Kingdom for as long as we can in the morning/ afternoon.
