Girls Trip to the World! TR COMPLETED 11/9 Wedding Pictrues Posted - Page 4 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

What a wonderful evening! I'm glad you got to see some of the parade from dinner and isn't the MM&Y show wonderful!
Yes! I loved MM&Y! The effects are really unbelieveable. The photos on the castle are so-so. It's hard to see them, especially from far away, but the other effects are great!
Sounds like the perfect ending to a WDW day! I love your summary comments at the end....best, worst, new, magical....so cool!
Who's getting married? Liz or Katie? I am eager to find out.
Can't wait to hear more!
We love doing that at the end of the day! It gives us a chance to remember the fun (and not so fun) moments of each day. We've been doing that every since we found Passporter. I love the pockets in the back with the "Memories of our day" spaces listed on each pocket.
Katie is the one getting married. It's a very busy time for us these days!
Thursday, August 25
I was up at 6:45, showered and dressed. Kate woke up at 7:15 and Liz about 7:40. It was going to be hard to convince the girls that getting up at the crack of dawn each day was a vacation! We were ready to go by 8:30. We waited about 10 minutes for a bus, then made the rounds at the other bus stops at POR. We arrived in Epcot about 9:10 and stopped for a few Photopass shots.
We then headed toward Soarin’, but decided to stop at the Character Spot since the wait was only 10 minutes.
Then we headed for The Land.
When we got to Soarin’ the stand by line was only a 30 minute wait, so we rode once, then got FP on the way out. When we got out of The Land we realized it had rained because there were lots of puddles, but the sun was back out so that was good! On to Mission Space!
We rode the not so intense side. After the ride, as we approached the gift shop it was jammed with people…All waiting for the downpour to stop. We weren’t going to let the rain put a damper on our day – as long as we had our umbrella we were heading out! But it really was quite a traffic jam in there and very hard to maneuver toward the door. We finally made our way outside, got our umbrella out and headed toward Ellen’s Energy Adventure. Originally we were not certain we wanted to do this attraction, but it was the closest one to head for and it was better than waiting inside for the rain to stop. The pre-show had just started when we got inside, so it was perfect timing. By the time we came out the sun was shining again! Disney Magic! After getting fast passes for Test Track we made a pit stop in the bathrooms and lingered for a bit to watch the Jaminators.
Then we crossed the park and returned to Soarin’ to use those FPs.
And after Soarin’ we ate lunch at Seasons.
Liz had Seared Tuna with noodles and cheesecake, Katie had a chicken Caesar salad and chocolate mousse and I had Thai chicken with cashews and caramel apple crunch. We were really hungry and everything tasted so good!!
Sounds like the start of another great day! I have never made it to try Sunshine Seasons but keep hearing good things about it. Someday we'll make it there. We never plan out CS meals, I just have a list of the ones we would be interested in. If we get hungry we look what is around us, check out the list (I write a basic idea of what foods are at each that we would like) and decide. Although, I knew that Colombia Harbor House had fish and chips this year and I didn't want the standard hambur or hot dog, so I suggested back tracking bc it was in my mind. Hard for us in Epcot, bc Harry's is there in the WS. However, we only ate once in Epcot this last trip and it was at Le Cellier, my fave place period.
I love the pic of you ladies with Pluto, it just has this fun look to it. Can't wait to hear about the WS!
What a great trip so far! I love the flow - and the Disney magic avoiding the raindrops! I'm always too nervous to carry a pedometer - I'm not sure I want to know how much we walk...
World Showcase
Then we headed for World Showcase where we browsed for a bit in Canada.
Then we headed for O Canada. We waited for about 10 minutes in the pre show area. It was just so hot outside that anytime we could duck inside for a show or a shop it was a huge relief!
After O Canada we stopped in UK, browsed a bit in the shops and the beautiful area in the back. And we waited in line for a M&G with Tigger and Pooh.
We then came upon the World Showcase Players in the middle of a performance and stopped to watch. Very funny! We saw a sign for a M&G with Mary and another for Alice. And since Mary is my favorite, we decided to wait 5 minutes for her to come out. Unfortunately, we were waiting in the wrong line, along with several others who thought it was the line for Mary. When she did come out she went toward the bridge and there were about 10 people in line before we could move over that way. So, we decided to wait for Alice and got a few pictures with her.
While we had been waiting, Liz got stung by a bee, so on our way past the Fish & Chips condiments stand, we grabbed a few packets of vinegar to put on the sting. Thankfully it helped.
Next we headed back over to TT to use those FPs. with a few stops for pictures along the way...
We were surprised that the FP line was all the way outside. A CM came out to explain that the ride was broken down and they were just now sending a car through to test it out. The line started to move shortly after that and within 20 minutes we were in the pre-show area and soon after that we were in the car.
After the ride a few fun shots in the cars in the demo room...
Katie demonstrating road rage:
Liz in her dream car:
The girls were having so much fun! DH and I would never have done anything like this!
It was getting really hot and we were exhausted so we decided it was time to head back to the POR. We waited a long time for a bus. At one point a bus came to the stop but it said PORT ORLEANS FRENCH QUARTER. We asked, but nope, he would not be stopping at POR. So, we continued to wait. Finally a bus came for us! We got back to the room, relaxed a bit, then went to the quiet pool – which really wasn’t very quiet.
This was one thing we did that differed from past trips with DH and I. Jeff and I didn’t spend too much time at the pool. We’d come back to the room mid day but usually took a nap or just relaxed in the AC. The girls were all about the pool. They enjoyed sitting in the sun and taking dips in the pool to cool off every so often. I must admit I enjoyed it too! Although I usually found a shadier spot.
After our pool time, we showered and changed for dinner then headed off to the bus stop about 7:00. We didn’t wait too long for a bus, and after making the rounds at all the POR stops, were on our way to Epcot for dinner at Tokyo dining!

It was amazing to realize how far we walked each day!

We ate at Sunshine Seasons for the first time last year and it was a favorite, so it was on the list again this time!
