Forums Closed
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.

So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.

Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.

And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.

We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.

There are other changes as well.

Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:

We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.

It's time to move on and move forward.

PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.

But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.

So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.

And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.

That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!

If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.

So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Best wishes for a wonderful and magical new year!

Too bad you didn't get on Pirates, but at least Ty enjoyed it! I can't wait to ride that in Sept. The parade looks like fun! How cute is Mousekeeping? Love that!

Wow, I am impressed at how well you handled your injury and made a nice adjustment to DLR on a scooter. Sounds like you and the boys have had some great experiences!

Great TR Jen. So sorry to hear your computer fractured your foot just as you were about to leave for your trip. It looks like you're having a wonderful time despite your foot. What a keeper of a DH you have. Your boys are too cute for words. How wonderful your DH got you a Dooney Purse and that he and the boys bought you presents to help cheer you up from your owie. How wonderful the CMs were to help you with your room request and scooter. How cute of Ty to call it "mommy's motorcycle". Looking foward to reading more please.

The button that lights up the headboard is a lovely Disney touch!
Sorry you missed POTC - it's my fave so I wouldn't have been so noble about staying behind.
Ah well - that's the sacrifices motherhood requires I guess!

My hubby is very generous and I am very lucky to have him. He is a keeper for sure. Thank you, I think my boys are awfully cute too.

Up next: Rx and IHOP and DCA...oh my

We all go up and moving and since this morning the parks did not open until 10 we decided to go to Target to pick up my medicine at the Pharmacy and also get a few things I had found I needed. The walking boot has a very thick base to it and none of my shoes had an equally thick base so I could walk evenly when I did need to walk. Also I was having trouble with the bag I brought for the parks since I was not carrying it and putting the whole thing in the front basket filled it up and was not easily to access. I was hoping to find a small and cheap bag I could hang on the arm or the back. We planned to stop at IHOP and do breakfast and than come back and head to the parks. The trick of it was my scooter. Hubby did not want me walking from our room to valet even though I would have been fine. He said we would just ask bell services to hold it for us. My main worry there was that they would think we were returning it. Either way they were very nice and said they were happy to hold it for us. Off we went to Target. They said they could fill my meds in about ten minutes so off I hobbled to find my goodies. I found nothing in the purses so we went to go look in the luggage/backpack section. I found a small child size messenger bag that had straps like a backpack!! Should fit on the arm just fine! Then I went over and found some flip-flops with thicker soles and I could walk so much better. Yeah!! We got my meds and were off to IHOP.

The boys were starving and happy to fill up on French toast and eggs and fruit. I don’t remember what I had but it was fine I am sure. We left there and could definitely feel it was warmer today. It had been much cooler (not cold just cool and breezy)in the first couple days so it be nice to have it be a bit warmer, I peeled off a layer from myself and the boys.

We went back to the hotel and my scooter was still there waiting for me. I thanked the CM and told him it was a big help. He told me it was his pleasure and to always remember that I am the boss. It was very sweet.

We decided to go to DCA first so the boys could get a Bugsland fix. We ended up doing the Monsters ride a couple times first and it was again easy for me to leave my scooter at the loading area and they brought right to the exit for me. There was no line at all and the boys were begging to go again. Hubby took them while I went to check out the Off the Page store. I looked around for a bit but found nothing that I had to have. When I went outside I saw kiddos lined up and knew there must be a character making an appearance. When I pulled around the corner it was Handy Manny! My boys would love to meet him. I called my hubby…no answer. So I just called and called until he finally heard me. He came running with boys in tow and we got in line just before they closed it. Ty was so excited and Ethan kept trying to steal Manny’s pencil that was behind his ear. Goofball!

We did a bathroom break and went over to do Turtle Talk. We had surprisingly never done this and we loved it. Super cute. Off to Bugsland for H’s Chew-Chew and Flick’s Flyers and the LB Boogie.

The juice stand that I have never seen open was open for a change and we got a frozen apple juice slushy for the boys and they loved it. The CM was super sweet and chatting up the boys. We headed off to DL and stopped so the boys could meet Pluto and I went to shop for more ears to add to my collection.

Found some cute ones and a baseball cap for my hubby. We found the polo and shorts that he was looking for and he was very pleased. We were definitely making good use of our AP 20% benefit. I hope they just decide to keep it instead of extending over and over again. We stopped for a corn dog to share so we would not spoil our yummy dinner at Steakhouse 55. Off to Jungle Cruise and because of my scooter we headed to the exit area for our entrance. Hardly any wait and off we went. Ty loves this ride and we did it twice each time my scooter waiting for me and ready to go. We went over to New Orleans Square to see Tiana sing.

We decided to try and get in a few rounds on Buzz before we needed to head back for dinner. We took Ty to go potty and we noticed Ethan had a stinky bottom. Hubby took him in for a clean up. Ty and we just relaxing and chatting when several CM in orange jumpsuit came out of nowhere telling everyone they needed to leave this part of the park immediately. I told them my husband was changing our baby and I was not going to leave without them. The first CM said that was fine. Three other CMs came up telling me that Ty and I needed to leave. They were starting to really scare me at this point. Ty started to anxious too just holding my hand and asking about his daddy. It seemed to take forever for them to come out. At one point a CM came over and told me they had someone in there with my husband and he would be out in a moment. OMG what was going on? Finally out came hubby and baby and we quickly left. I was just so happy to see them. I knew that if it was something really bad or dangerous they would close the park but it was still scary. Apparently they told my hubby that there was a HUGE power outage in all of Tomorrowland and they have to make sure everyone is out in case they sneak into a ride and get hurt when things start up again. That is fine and all but did they need to scare a poor one footed mommy and her 4 years old son? The boys were both really upset over not getting to ride Buzz so we bought a Buzz and McQueen balloon as we went up Mainstreet. Suddenly we had happy boys again. We went out to WoD and spent some more money and traded some pins. Hubby found a couple I was looking for on a CM and surprised me! We went and dropped our loot off in our room and headed to Steakhouse 55 a little early for our dinner.

What a productive day...up until the unplanned evacuation! Glad some retail therapy put a smile on everyone's faces. Looking forward to hearing about your meal at Steakhouse 55; we are headed there next week!

Sounds like a great day except for the evacuation. The pucture of Ty with Handy Manny is priceless (my little one loves Handy Manny). Glad to hear you had 2 happy boys after their balloons. More please Jen!
