The "Together the Magic Continues - As a Family" Trip Report. Aug 26 - Sept 6 at POP - COMPLETE!! 11/15 - Page 4 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Another great update - and I love the phone pic too!
Yea about the phone pic: When Liz has time to do her side of this, I'm sure I will pay for that dearly. It may be a day or so as she is working ungodly hours this weekend. Hmmm maybe if I hurry up and put the next update on today she won't notice??
Just got caught up! Great fun! I love your tag-team trs and your stories! Can't wait for more...and no, I think Liz will catch the photo and comment and it's back to the basement with you!
More please!

Day 4 August Sunday August 30, 2009 Epcot – Akershush !
Day 4 August Sunday August 30, 2009 Epcot – Akershush !
Woke early again this morning but we were in no big rush. We are heading to Epcot today to ride Soarin, and go on some other rides or attractions we might have missed and going to spend more time exploring world showcase. We hit the gate at opening and head for Soarin. Not much line right at opening so we get fast passes then get in line. Soarin Is fantastic as always. J We spend much of the morning at Future world. We head to Test Track and Mission Space, and ride Spaceship Earth. Before you know it, it was time to split up because Liz and Tori were heading off on their own again today to explore more of the world showcase. They had a late lunch reservation at Rose and Crown, but that didn’t sound too good so they wound up making another reservation then deciding that time wouldn’t work so they finally wound up at the Mexico restaurant?? I’m not real sure exactly where they wound up but I did know that Gubby, Brendan, Jordan, and myself had a date at Akershush at 5:00. I am VEEERRY excited because my beloved Cinderella is usually at this meal. We have some time though so we head back to the hotel for our midday swim break so I can freshen up a bit for my much anticipated meeting with Cinderella. J We arrive at the restaurant a bit early but our name is called almost right away. We have our picture taken with Bell, and are seated. We had a very nice meal, I was really enjoying having a good meal with the kids and then the Princesses come. J Aurora, and Ariel appear first, and then, there she is!!! Cinderella!!! I’m all a flutter. She comes up and I have her sign my backpack:
Actually she asks me whose backpack this is, and when I smile and tell her 'Mine", she looks a little confused for some reason. I wonder why? Isn't it a good color too? Love that Cinderella Blue!!
Isn’t that a lovely signature? The kids take a picture of us:
I also love Disney because it is the one place on earth a grown man can wear a Cinderella T-shirt and carry around a baby blue Bagellini and not get beaten up.
Gubby was excited I got my picture taken with Cinderella too!:
So was Brendan:
When our waitress bought the bill, I had to explain to her that we were in different rooms, on separate reservations, so she had to take three credits off one card and 1 child credit off the other. She looked a bit flustered and said she needed to write it down because she is like a goldfish with her memory. I smiled and said: “Well you certainly don’t look like a goldfish, young lady”. So she says “Well how about this?”:
So there she was, making goldfish lips, which the kids thought was so funny they had to get into the act:
She was a nice waitress and I really appreciated her taking some time to give us a laugh.
When it was time to go, I got a beer and we just strolled around the world. Took our time, went into some shops, etc. I swear this was just a great night. Everyone you meet seemed to be happy and smiling. Everywhere you went, people were talking to you. It really felt like I was at Epcot with a few thousand really good friends. J I just love the ‘Disney’ Feeling. Some more pictures:
Remember this phone booth from our previous trips??
We finally left just before Illuminations so we could beat the crowd. We stopped and rode Maelstrom, three Amigos boat ride, and we rode Nemo and saw Turtle talk on the way out as well. I felt a bit bad when I told Liz of the great night we had when I got home because I found out they had another dreadful dining experience, and came back to the room early and did Laundry. Sorry Hon! L
Tomorrow: The Studios, and we are that much closer to our dinner at 1900 Park Faire, and a rainy mornig at MK and a meeting with Tinkerbell that didn’t go too well for me. L But I do get to see Cinderella again!!!
Brent

Nice try Babe.....so not gonna forget the first update because of the second.
Yes we were all thankful for Brents early morning walks for his coffee and Brendans breakfast.......Yuck, Tori and I are NOT breakfast eaters!
Now, my passporter friends.......here is the real version, or my version which is highly accurate! LOL
Flame tree BBQ...I have eaten there many times....always had the chicken but I love it! The portion sizes are huge tho, next time we have to remember to split a meal. I love the side of beans.....no one else does in our family so it works out well. Lots of beans for me.........hee hee......where is the closest phone booth?
On the phone alot, eh????
Look at that look on his face......"oh no, busted AGAIN!"
hhhhhmmmmmm, again? Brent on the phone......?
Yeah, Brent was NEVER (insert sarcasm here) on his phone!!!!
Boma was kinda disappointing, we sat for 2 hours waiting with an ADR! But it was all good. Laundry needed to be done anyway.....its Disney, how bad can it get.
OOOhhhh the studios. That is where one of my fave pics took place....check out my rocker! He so missed his calling!
1900 Park Fare....oh that place is always an amazement! Lots of pics from there!!! And Brent did such a sweet thing.......you are all gonna love this one!!
Sorry this was so brief and bland...more soon, I promice. Really tired. Second time I fell asleep at computer. Off to bed!
Again so enjoying the tag team reporting and getting both sides of the story! You all had such an enjoyable day at Epcot, especially since you got to see Cinderella again!
