August and Everything After WDW - Trip Report - Thread 2 **Updated 11/1** COMPLETE - Page 4 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Just an update from me today. I'm home on a sick day from school.... so I figured I'd get back on this TR
So now we're on our Day 2 part 2..
We got ready and headed out towards the lobby. We wanted to check the pin trading board to see if we could find any good loot. I think it was this day that on our way past the foodcourt Marnie came out from the foodcourt door to say hey to us They had just checked in and were getting settled. We thought it was funny she spotted us in passing like that After a few minutes of "hope you have a good time" we headed on to the lobby. I made a trade for one of the Haunted Mansion CM pins I was collecting. That made 3 out of the 4 for me. The CM standing at the pin trading asked me if I knew about the changes made to it and we were like "duh yeah" and he goes "when was your last visit on the ride" I guess he asked it thinking we're just regular joe shmoes who only come like once every 5 years or something When I busted out with the "we were here in May" I think it caught him off guard Anyway... I also spotted a Stitch Buzz Lightyear pin that I wanted to get the next day if it was still there
So after a successful pin trade we headed out and caught a bus to Epcot. Brandi had open house that afternoon at her school so she was going to meet Pom and then meet us. We got there before she did so we hopped in line for SSE. We do love SSE now. Might have something to do with the picture taking....... as you'll soon see......
The line was moving very quickly and we were on the ride before we knew it. We decided on the face we would make for our picture..... if we only knew how great it was going to be
We got stuck a couple of times on the ride.... I always take that as somebody couldn't manuever on the moving walkway and car thing.
I took a picture while we were stopped.
That guy must get tired of pounding that paper all day long.
Finally we got to the end where we could build our future..... oh yes.... the moment that made Andy cry.
First, remember waaaay back to the beginning of our TR. Andy's Upper Class Twit of the Year face on Everest? I told you it'd make another appearance.
Andy I think went for Twit #1's look up there.... while I went for the look of Twit #3
This picture makes me laugh... Andy's got on a FABULOUS sweater there.
And this one makes it look like Andy's flicking a booger across the table at me
And finally.... here you go Andy... just for you.....
A close up ..... I am the ULTIMATE upper class twit of the year!
(cue Andy crying from laughing while reading this and looking at that picture. I'd bet money he is).
How about one more time... a side by side comparison...
After wiping the tears away from our faces, we headed over to see how bad Test Track was. It was bad so we decided to save that till the morning. We stopped by the pin central to pick up some new LE pins. I got the Stitch Decoder pin (man I'm a nerd). And I got one other one....but I can't remember right now which one.... Andy? Do you remember?
While we were crossing over towards Canada we got a call from Brandi that they were heading in the back towards the UK. We met up and it was great to see our pals again! Mo was supposed to be with us but this was during her fiasco week of water exploding in their house, so she wasn't able to make it. We stood around for a bit trying to decide what we wanted to eat. I was starving! So Pom (I did tell you earlier his name is Tom right? But his myspace says Pom, so we call him Pom....) anyway, Pom suggested The Land. We'd never eaten there so we said sure!
On the way Andy acted like Paparazzi taking a billion stupid pictures of us. This one I thought was hilarious b/c it looked like Pom was eating his cane....so we photoshopped it a bit to make it really look like he was
Did Pom think that was funny?
Pom says no
We were in the elevator at The Land for that one.... and this one..
Andy looks suspicious....
Andy took some pictures while I was getting my food...
And he took so many in a row that I had to make another gif..
Andy went with oriental food...
I had the Turkey and Muenster Cheese on Foccacia which was very tasty
I don't remember what Pom and Brandi had. Maybe they'll remind us
After dinner we headed out and to Mexico I think....... It's hard for me to remember everything b/c, if I haven't said it before, these two make me laugh so hard I have to pee.
Now, here's the part of our trip where you can judge us if you like. BUT, we were here with our new close pals and we wanted to spend as much time with them as we could. We can't help they choose to LIVE here and are not staying on property. So.... we got our EMH bracelets early on that evening....... and now that we were with them.... we gave them our room keys and had them go get themselves a couple of bracelets. I KNOW.... SHAME SHAME. but honestly I don't care. I wanted to hang out with my friends.....so I did what I had to do. You'd have done it, too. Judge not lest ye be judged I say....
We rode The Gran Fiesta Tour and b/c of Pom's wheels we got to ride in the cool boat.
Aye Aye Capt'n
We laughed and joked our way around to Germany where Pom wanted to go in the Christmas shop. He loves the Christmas shop and anything Christmas. Seriously, he'd put his Christmas tree up now if Brandi would let him.
We all wanted some chocolate so we all got something sweet from the candy shop there in Germany. We came out just in time to snack and watch Illuminations from the back of Germany. We lost Andy at one point. He went to get me a bottle of water but the line at the beer/pretzel stand was so long he ended up going to the counter service back there. Finally we were all back together. Pom wanted to see the Frenchie movie as they call it. But alas, the Frenchie movie does not show during EMH. We made a promise that we'd see the Frenchie movie tomorrow with them. (We'd never seen it before )
We made our way on around to Nemo b/c Pom could ride in the clam-mobile. After the ride Brandi and I caused some trouble (what else is new?)
I was screaming/laughing b/c I had Bruce's tooth going into my armpit!
After Nemo we stopped to see if Stitch was at Character Chaos...he was....but it was too chaotic so we decided to go ride Figment. We hadn't ridden Figment in years so it was time to do it again.
While waiting for the cool car to come pick us up Andy took some more gif friendly selfshots..
A lot going on in that one...
On the ride.... Andy took this picture right as Brandi took one behind us so her flash lit up the picture
After the ride we played around with all the sound stuff...
Brandi and Andy the conductors...
Brandi and Andy the noisemakers....
We were all getting pretty tired by now. Brandi had to go to work in the morning for a work day so we all said goodnight and set up a time to meet tomorrow night. Andy and I were on a bus back to POFQ in no time. Another succesfully fun Disney Day in the memory book.
Coming up: It's been too long my beloved blue buddy!
