The way We do a Disney Re-Do ~~ Beach club Aug 13-22 - FINISHED!!! 1/20 - Page 35 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Shelly I was so happy to see your updates. What a great magical moment over at TT, how great that the little thrill demon is also adorable, a grat combination for getting a free walk through back onto the ride
Glad you all enjoyed Tokyo Dining, however I can see why it might not be the perfect choice on the dining plan, maybe with the deluxe I guess as that offers still the appitizer.
Sorry the heat and the crowds were so terrible for you at the MK, we have had those rare "where did these crowds come from" days when we were expecting low crowds. I am surprised that you all lasted as long as you did. I probablwould have just given up and headed to the pool.
Glad you were able to still get to enjoy at EMH (even though the crowds were still there). I have to say there is such a difference when reading this TR and your last one. While the last trip you had moments of enjoyment....when you read this TR, and look at the pictures you can tell what a difference this trip was for you. Your excitement and happiness is etched in everyone's smiles.
Can't wait to hear all about your relaxing day.
Thank you!!
You are probably right about Tokyo being a good choice for DxDDP--we ended up with a "deluxe" meal there once we gots the apps and wanted to try the dessert. Most restaurants apps and dessert are way too much food--not here!
This was such a wonderful trip!

When we got the pictures back from the last trip, we could see the stress in everyone. We were exhausted. DD often looked blank. Smiles looked forced. This time--we were genuinely happy.
Found your trip report last night as looking up about the beach club. Have spent the last two evenings reading it and cant wait to hear about your final day. Its obvious that you love the beach club. Did you spend much time in the pool? Where did you eat breakfast?

Thanks for joining along!!!
I am a big fan of the BC. I can almost not imagine staying anywhere else!!!
We spent quite a bit of time in the SAB pool. It was really incredible, with amazing areas for all to enjoy. Would have liked to have more time there....
We usually ate breakfast in the room with food we brought from home. Our kids are big fans of instant oatmeal. We had a whole suitcase packed with food, expecting that it would be filled with souvenirs for the return trip. We ate at the Cape May breakfast buffet the last full day of our trip (hoping to get that posted this weekend or before). That last day we finally discovered the gift shop's grill for breakfast. It was a great use of the DDP points and wish we would have used them throughout the week!!!

I was just thinking that as I was reading your last few updates. Everyone, especially Hannah, looks soooo much happier and the smiles are real!!
I'm so glad this trip is going better than the last one! It seems like the heat and long days can bring out the worst. Dinner at Tokyo Dining sounds good, but the portion sizes look awfully small--especially on the kids meals. It looks like you had a wonderful time at 1900 Park Fare! We haven't done that one for dinner yet, but everyone's photos and interaction always look great!
I thought so much as I was reading and now I know I've forgotten some things. Great day at Epcot! Love the magical moment at Test Track! That kind of special treatment has to put a big smile on a kid's face! Love all your PhotoPass pictures! So sorry about the heat and crowd at MK -- I can't imagine as we our first family trip was in August and MK was celebrating its 25th anniversary with huge crowds. Not funny! : But I can tell you still had fun! We 1900 Park Fare, so glad it proved to be wonderful for you all, too. Stefanie has banned it for this coming June trip, but it will be back on in the future, I'm sure.

With your visit frequency... will eventually get around to everything....I have told myself I cannot start reading your new TR until I finish my own....I need to buckle down and focus...nearly done...Then I will catch up on others reports....
We kept a positive attitude about our plans for hanging out at SAB all day, as FL is known for quick passing showers. Besides, we had ADRs at Cape May to get to…
We met the family for a leisurely breakfast at 10:00am.
We have not done many WDW breakfasts in our trips, so not a lot to compare it to, but this was hands down our favorite breakfast buffet. It also ranked at one of our overall favorites, and will be a must do for future trips.
The food was good. I think the selection was slightly smaller than that at Chef Mickey’s, but there were more “fancy” options (6 months later with no food pictures, specific examples have faded from my memory.)
Even more than the food, our experience was made wonderful because of the staff, the atmosphere, the pacing and of course, the CHARACTERS!!! Our group of 8 was seated in a back corner.
I am realizing that this “out of the way” seating is ideal for our family. I will try to specifically request it in the future.
The server was great and we were never rushed. One would think that with the weather, there would be so many people waiting for a table that we would be hurried along. Not here! The staff was as fun and laid back as the swimwear-clad Fab 5! I think we spent almost 2 hours at Cape May.
Speaking of characters—we have never experienced the amount of character interaction as we had here. We have been at meals where the character makes a 2nd trip around while we are still seated, but we often get just a wave on the 2nd pass and not a return visit. Here they all stopped for pictures a second time, and Minnie mouse was kind enough to make a third visit. You can see in the pictures below that our Delaney was smitten with Minnie and so happy that she kept coming back. WOW!!!
Hannah never got near Goofy…(I think earlier in the TR I said she did finally meet Goofy--but she has since corrected me and the pictures verified her version…)
Another highlight of the day was the chance to hang out with our family… and for Delaney to hang on her favorite cousin:
There were so many cute pictures of these two, but without permission to post pictures of the other family, I am just posting a back view. It tells the story….
After breakfast…the rain seemed to be lightening up…we thought it may even stop and clear up later in the day. Our DS wanted to go back to the Lego store to spend the rest of his money. I left to take him to DTD while DH and the girls waited with SIL for the rain to clear…
What a great meal at CMC, we absolutely loved our breakfast there, and we also found the character interaction to be amazing. Hope to hear that the rain stops soon so you can enjoy some time at the pool.
