Taggin' Along Compliments of Disney! - Page 35 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Too funny...although most people should already know to never mess with a mother that has gotten up at 3 in the morning. Hope your stroller showed up..but a little part of me is just waiting to hear you went postal on that little piece of sunshine.

OMG...............are you sure you weren't flying JetBlu??? Too funny. If this helps, everytime we get to our gate we always go up to the employees at the desk and ask for our gate check card, just so we have it already. Also this time we got the big red GATE CHECK stroller bag. It was super easy to find our stroller once getting off the flight.
What is it with gram-moms wanting to always change the stinky diaper??My mom jumps on the chance, and I say...........have fun with it!!!
I was laughing when I read this because I did have it in that obnoxious red stroller gate check bag! I mean how can you miss that thing?!? BTW, as long as they want to change those diapers I'm going to let them...have a blast!

I couldn't have asked for a smoother flight...it was perfect...airplane wise.

Let's hope so because I'm not gonna tell yet.

Uh-oh, where's the stroller? Time to get that flight attendant.
I try to put a little bit of humor in sour situations so I'm glad you liked it.

She was an angel on that plane...better than I expected. Why did I doubt my little girl? Okay, I know why, but she couldn't have been better.

I've only seen the weddings from afar, so it will be nice to actually get to be a part of one. The only thing better would be getting to be the bride!

It's my worst nightmare too, besides actually crashing in the plane.

If it's not found I will be yelling, if it is, then the vacation can begin on a happy note...guess we'll just have to wait and see.

I was trying to find the best words to describe her horrid attitude because it was ridiculous! She definitely needs a vacation or something.

I like uneventful flights. I don't need anything too exciting to happen when I'm that far up in the air.

You're exactly right. No sleep with a child means watch out! Who doesn't like a good fight? Although I'd rather be watching than participating.

Just catching up Melissa!
Sorry for your loss.
And sorry about the not so pleasant flight attendant. I hope your stroller turns up. I had bad luck when SWA lost my suitcase this past June. It is the worst feeling to not have your personal items make it on the flight with you.

You are just too funny! I had to smile at the IT on the plane. When Abby was 22 months old we went to Mexico and she caught the flu. On the way home on the plane she had a little accident ... all over her pants... and Ken's shirt. I rushed her to bathroom to change her and in my total rushing-oh-my-gosh-what-the-heck-just-happened mode I left the bathroom door open. Well, all the flight attendant nearby could do was yell at me for the smell and leaving the door open and didn't offer to run and get wipes or offer sympathy or anything. It was my biggest fear flying with a toddler but hey once that happens, fear's gone!
ps - Hope's hair got soo long and curly! Too cute.
Great start! My computer has been down all week so I am just getting caught up! Before I read you didn't like your picture I thought wow that is a nice sleeping pic I never seem to take nice sleeping pics! Can't wait to see how your trip all turned out! It is super exciting to know you will be at & Hope in a Disney wedding one day!!!
Glad the flight went smooth, but I have a bad feeling about the stroller. I hope it turns up!
That's the feeling I had when I got off the plane...definitely not a good one.

Sorry about the McDonald's employees. The one near me is awful -they always mess up the order.
I love the Miss Someone-Pee’d-In-My-Wheaties-This-Morning.comment.
God Bless the Grandmothers. I'm the same way, every time my mom is like do you want me to give Evan a bath? I'm like have at it.
Don't leave us hanging too long - I'm dying to know if the stroller shows up
My mom is the exact same way! Do you want me to give her a bath? Do you need me to do this or that? Sure...have a ball!

Thank you so much. I've only had my suitcase get lost once, and it was on a return trip from Italy...that was the return trip from hell. That is such a bad feeling especially when it's on the flight to your destination...did they ever find it?

I wish her hair was curlier too...I just love the little curls. How awful that they yelled at you to close the door! I mean really? Sometimes people just amaze me. I guess once it happens and you make it through the ordeal you figure you just passed a huge milestone and you can take on anything.

The reason I hate that picture is because I really don't like profile shots of me. I feel like I have a big nose from that angle. I don't know...just one of my insecurities I guess. Next time, tell someone that if you fall asleep they need to take a really good picture of you.
