As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:

Moving on with the current of the years.

It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.

From what I remember on our first cruise was that they had a tamer show first with Mickey and pals and then later it was Jack and the other pirates followed by the fireworks. We had late seating and were able to enjoy both shows.
Interesting - it sounds like the Lion King in London's West End. We've seen the matinee, which is very family friendly, while the evening version had a few more risqué jokes in it, shall we say?
Sorry the pirate's night dinner was a disappointment and that your service was consistently slow. You all are very good at just happening upon characters. Great pics with Minnie!
Sorry, your dinner experience wasn't the best and especially regarding your service team, which seemed a bit laxed to say the least! The cuisine looked great as you seemed to enjoy it! I didn't know you had a problem with chocolate as you have always seemed to seek it out on various trips!
I hope the trip improves and especially your service team, which is not what you want on a DCL adventure!

October 6, 2017-Enjoying an amazing dinner at Victoria & Albert's with PP's Dot and Drew

That's cool to know that some kids do and that their life doesn't revolve around technology.
I'm glad not all kids are obsessed with technology too. My two have been doing things like "bubblegum, bubblegum, in a dish...." and making up their own variations. Today one of Dylan's friends organized a little impromptu soccer practice. Us parents ended up playing the kids; kids won.
Well except for your "thrilling" ride on the Aqua Duck the rest of your day sounded heavenly relaxing. Loved all the pictures of the spa.
Sorry dinner was not as great tonight....I would not have been happy with the slow service as well. Pacing is great but it sounds as if they were just not as organized in terms of their serving.
Sorry the pirate's night dinner was a disappointment and that your service was consistently slow. You all are very good at just happening upon characters. Great pics with Minnie!

I clearly remember the first three lines, but I honestly don't remember the last three - maybe we have a different version over here, but as to what it was, I really cannot recall now. It was a long time ago in fairness..

It certainly was, and a bit of a spoiler here, the worst was still to come.

Oh I have no issue with chocolate at all. My allergy is to tree fruit (apples, pears, peaches, nectarines, cherries, plums and apricots). What I objected to on this cruise was how they seemed to react to it, removing any fruit and in this case, drowning a chocolate cake with more chocolate. It really could have done with that raspberry sauce and I would've been fine with that. I think I might say something at the start of our Alaskan cruise, as things did go a bit over the top on this cruise as far as my allergy went. I appreciate they're concerned about me, but if the fruit isn't mentioned on the menu, usually I'm fine - for example, if it's a minor ingredient, it's not an issue.

Considering where we were standing, and the fact that we were behind about four other people, it’s amazing what you can do when you hold a camera up, and point it in the right direction. We managed to get some great photos of the pirate party.
I only managed to stay for about 10 minutes, and then it started to hurt to stand, a sure sign that my chronic fatigue was flaring up, so I didn’t want to make myself ill, and told Mark I’d head off and find somewhere to sit. He stayed on, and got some pretty decent shots of the rest of the show.
As for me, I headed along deck 12…
… then went down to deck 11 by the adult pool.
I sat there for a few minutes, and realised that Shawn was standing by the bar, so I headed over there to say hello to him. Unbelievably, he works a straight 14 hour shift, from 7:00am to 9:00pm. He is such a nice and friendly guy, and he’ll be getting a mention in my cruise survey. I chatted to him, and said that I might stick my feet in the water of the shallow end of the pool, and he said “why not?” so I did! It was so nice and relaxing, and really helped my feet no end.
Mark eventually headed back, and found me, and we chatted a bit more to Shawn before we headed over to the spa, as Mark wanted to book another shave. He managed to get one for tomorrow at 3:00pm, and Alina, who I think is the manager of the spa, persuaded me to have a foot massage. I did say that I was meeting a friend an hour later, but she assured me I’d be done in time.
That done, we headed back to the room, and look at what greeted us!
We were both really impressed by this, never having had anything like this in the past. How cool! Of course, wouldn’t you know it, they were doing a towel animal class tomorrow at 2:00pm, the same time as our wine tasting. Why does Disney do this? There was honestly nothing of interest in the morning, and everything I fancied doing was in the afternoon, when we were rammed with things to do already…
I grabbed the Navigator to see where I could meet up with Jennifer tomorrow. I noticed Meridian was open from midday, and I fancied trying their crème brulee Martini, so I messaged her to suggest that, and that’s what we settled on.
I decided to head back to the spa for a little while to use the Rainforest. As it was late, I didn’t want to do anything that involved getting wet, and that did limit my options a bit. I sat on the heated stone chairs for some time, reading my book, then went into the hamam and the laconium, but after all of that, I was feeling pretty hot, and didn’t fancy going back to my chair, so I figured now would be a good time to head back to the room.
While I’d been sitting on the chair, I realised that I hadn’t seen the swimming goggles I’d bought earlier. I played it back in my mind, and the only possibility was that I’d left that after dinner, so I phoned guest services to ask what happened, and the woman told me to “pop by” guest services and ask about them, as they should make their way there. I felt like saying “I just called guest services – is there no way you can check?” but I guess there wasn’t.
We did try desperately hard to stay up for the pirate fireworks, but we just couldn’t manage it. We were both yawning and utterly exhausted just past 10:00pm, and while I think we could’ve just about made it, I think it would’ve killed us, and it wouldn’t have been worth it. After all, this is a vacation, and there’s only so far you can push yourselves.
The weather today was hot and sunny with temperatures in the high 80s. The best thing today was just lounging around relaxing in the spa. The worst thing today was losing my googles which I’d only just bought. The funniest thing today was Mark with Captain Hook. Today we tried not getting off the ship at Castaway Cay And the result was it was nice, and we got to enjoy the Dream with very few people on board. The most magical moment today was meeting Captain Minnie with no wait!
Sounds like you two were quite relaxed, if you were asleep before the fireworks! Good for you! Nice towel animal sculpture, the flowers are a very nice touch.
Am looking forward to your brunch experience at Palo.

We managed to get some great photos of the pirate party. 
He is such a nice and friendly guy, and he’ll be getting a mention in my cruise survey. I chatted to him, and said that I might stick my feet in the water of the shallow end of the pool, and he said “why not?” so I did!
