Holy Great Movie Ride (April 5 - 10)! TR Begins - COMPLETE!! 6/8 - Page 31 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Another great update and love how empty MK was. Love the days when it is easy to get everything done that you want to do Sounds like that big girl purse was just a bigger and bigger hit

Although we can't wait to take our new baby girl to Disney, my husband and I have taken many adult only trips as well. Disney has something for everyone. I think those ladies were probably just envious that you get to go on as many trips as you do.
Sounds like a great trip. Can't wait to read more!
Fabulous day at the MK. Well, it was just the morning even! You got it done!
I want that cinnamon roll, I've never had one. Add it to the list along with the cream cheese pretzels.
And those ladies in line need to back off! Seriously! You can't go to WDW without kids? Give me a break.
The best trip i ever took to the world was Just Me and Hubby...( our 1 year anniversary)....the kids add another type of magic....but its definatley not the same.
WOW! You got a lot done before noon. I can't believe how uncrowded it was (is that a word?).
I'm looking forward to my adult only trip in a few months. Even if you have kids people still have opinions about them - like I'm pregnant with my 2nd, which is another boy, and people think I need a 3rd to try for a girl and I haven't even given birth to #2 yet!!!
Sounds like the perfect morning at the MK Melissa! Doesn't get any better than a cinnabon at the Main Street Bakery for breakfast Don't let people get to you about why you'd come to WDW so often (whether with kids or without). They just don't get the "magic"! My DH and I hear that often too but we just ignore it now.
Great morning @ MK!!! Got to try my first cinnamon bun @ MSB last trip! YUMMY!!! Great pictures!!! The tree house looks so neat (one of many things I haven't done @ WDW!!!) Can't wait to read more!!!
Just so you know, I was eating a bowl of Special K this morning while not only reading about your cinnamon roll, but seeing it too! (And then work rudely interrupted so I had to read the rest of your update tonight).
It is amazing how fast people fly through the treehouse. Mary Devall is always wanting to stop and check out everything (and I love the view from the tip top), but the people running through it make me feel like I need to move on!
Great MK morning! And the mayor reminds me a little bit of our governor!
So I realized way after writing my last update that I forgot to mention the awesome jokes from the Jungle Cruise that morning. We had an outta control skipper, that I ended up sitting beside.. and as soon as I sat down he made some comment about controlling myself beside him .. whoa. He used me as a means to communicate his jokes, too… I totally wasn’t paying attention at one point and missed the fact I was in the middle of a knock knock joke.. But two of his jokes CRACKED me up! One was: What do you call a cow with no back legs?
An udder drag.. ba dum ching!
And another was:
What do you call a cow with no front legs, no back legs, and no tail?
Ground beef…
He was full of these type jokes. As was he full of the jokes about what he could’ve done for a living.. as in “I could’ve been a vacuum salesman but I sucked” or “I could’ve been a doctor but I didn’t have any patients” get it? Patients/patience? I love stupid humor.
Anyway… after we left the MK we caught the boat over to Ft.W for lunch. We do love ourselves some Trail’s End buffet.
We were seated and sat at the SAME table we sat at back in November with the Bakers… AND.. we had Ed again! Good ole Ed! He didn’t remember us obviously, but we’re freaks who remember everything..
We helped ourselves to the buffet.. Round One was salad and that fantastic chili
Round Two was the full on buffet:
Andy went for an extra Round Two:
And then we had the dessert round:
Man I love that place. I’d slap a kid in the library right now for some of that pulled pork bbq, chili, and mac n cheese…
It’s such a great place to go, but don’t tell anybody… we like the fact that when we go for lunch, there’s nobody there, and its nice and peaceful. Seriously, when we got there at like 12:30 we were the only people there. Then a two older couples came in together and sat to eat. We came to the conclusion that they were RV’ing it at Ft.W because they were talking being there every Friday. MAN! I wish I could do that!
After lunch we mosied around the restaurant and the grounds… Andy and the bear hit it off…
And he tried for a foot massage or something…. But it didn’t work..
We headed over to visit the horses. Andy LOVES horses so he enjoys coming to Ft.W for that. Maybe one day we’ll do the horseback riding there.
This guy was getting good and clean.
And when we went into the stables, we met John the Horse. John the Horse quickly became our friend. As Andy was standing there trying to look in, John the Horse threw his head over the top and decided to pose for the picture…
This cracks me up!! It looks like he’s smiling!!!
And then John the Horse became the photo ham…
And even more..
Everytime we walked by John the Horse, he’d stick his head out to see us. Andy was like a little kid man, loving every minute of it! He and John the Horse are bosom buddies now. After spending quality time with John the Horse we headed back to catch a boat to the MK and then grabbed a bus back to POP. We took some time to relax at the pool again, just sitting, drinking, and people watching. And yes, because it been about 3 hours since we ate, I think there was some feeding of the Disney Stomach…
The Bakers arrived shortly after and we got ready to head out to Epcot for our last night in the “world”.
Not really sure…..
The ducks like Tom’s Peeps in the Hood shirt as much as me!!
We got to Epcot and of course rode SSE, only to have it not work again… ai yi yi
After a stop at the Urination Station we hit up Club Cool, drinks on Tom!
Then we really just poked around the World Showcase, taking photos and just relaxing..
We stopped in Italy for a bit and just people watched.. I remember not knowing what I wanted to eat… and trying to decide. But in the end we decided to go see the American Adventure show, which we’d never done before and it totally shocked the Bakers. It was ok.. I guess I’m not very patriotic or I don’t like how our history really looks on paper…if you think about it. But whatever. It was really long But I’m glad we’ve seen it.
We decided to get some BBQ from America for dinner finally and sat outside in America and ate during Illuminations. Our last nights always seem like we don’t do much, or I just don’t remember much, and I don’t take a lot of photos for some reason either. I guess we’re just busying being there…… I think Brandi’s got some good photos from this night…
Once we drug our tired bodies out of the park the Bakers took us back to POP. We did walk around a bit and take some photos…
Then we started the horrible deed of getting things ready to pack… I hate that part!! We didn’t do too much though, I knew we could get it together in the morning. Speaking of the morning, it was still up in the air as to what we’d do. We had thought about going to DHS one more time, but that would’ve been rushing out to make opening so we could ride Insania, and we just didn’t have the energy. Instead we opted to say we’d hit up Epcot just because we like being there So that was the plan!
