Our Magical New York Wedding-- a Pixie Dusted Wedding and Honeymoon Report! - Page 31 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

What a great update Mel...love the makeup and the hairstyle, you look great by the way. The music and readings sound perfect, what great choices. I can't believe it is so close now...it just went so fast.
Love the shower theme...those cupcakes were adorable. Glad you got so much great stuff. Sounds like you and Rob will be all set in regards to what you guys needed.
And I am super excited that the vacation box is coming out...
I also agree that a NYC meet is definitely in order... you could definitely put me on the list.

I love the hair (how did you do the thumbnail?) and your bridal shower looked like SO much fun!!! I love the cake and cupcakes - did mom do that??
Thanks so much! The thumbnail is just because I added the file to the post as an attachment (using the little paperclip button when I was typing). The only thing that stinks when you use them is that you have to shrink them since you are actually attaching the file-- i mean since when you click the thumbnails you can see them bigger, ya know? And yes my mom did make the cupcakes!

I know, my mom is so awesome when it comes to all things cake or cupcake! lol! She is so creative in general-- her and my sister did an awesome job on the party! It is so nice to have some of the things we have just "wanted" but havent been able to buy for ourselves because we have been wedding saving. Or things that we wouldnt ever ask for our buy in any other situation (like 300 thread counts sheets... lol)! I cant believe less than two months from now i will be a mrs. and you will be a mommy! i wish we lived closer to eachother!

I did the same thing I wore a veil for the ceremony and at the reception i took it off. You don't want to hide that beautiful hair do.
We were offered prints, CD of our prints, DVD of our group. Any or all of the above. We got the CD with 2 of our pictures on it and the DVD... I can't remember prices, but that could be different anyway, and I'm sure they all operate very similarly.
I'm too old to make you blush... but if you lose much more, there won't be anything left to marry!!
I hope you got my message on Facebook...but I am so bad at checking on that . That shower theme was fabulous!! The cupcake-cake...Amazing!! And your hair and make-up look fantastic!! It is just soooo close. Have you gotten to the point yet when you wake up in the morning and think..."I"m getting married soon!!!" with butterflies?? This time is just so special! Enjoy every minute!

i def feel like that now! i cant believe its creeping up on us so quick now!!
Okay so here's another little mini-update for this week! The most exciting part is completely Non-Wedding related, unless you count the fact that it has to do with Me & Rob! lol!
Well, we've been talking about our post-wedding life and I have been planting the Disney seed. We will have a free flight from Jet Blue after our honeymoon that will expire in May of next year. I told Rob I would like to go to Disney and leave on a Wednesday night and go through Sunday. Just a mini trip so we can still afford a vacation in the summer and I wanted to do it in March so the money would be due before our tax returns to force us to save the right way for it.
After a couple of talks we had about his job hunt and the summer and everything we have decided-- as long as Rob finds a job (which as I have told you guys I am confident that he will as it just takes time) we are GOING TO DISNEY WORLD IN MARCH!!! Yaayyyy!!
You know I am crazy and I already have a must list-- including Must Stay at Poly or POFQ, eat at Ohana and 1900 PF, must get a photopass photog session, and must ride the Tower of Terror! LOL! At least now I know while Rob is job hunting/working this summer post-wedding I will be Disney planning!
And on a wedding note, I made these cute evites for our Rehearsal: Sendomatic
I will post another update as soon as I have more details to share, sometime after my last day of Regents testing next week! It will probably be pictures of the vacation box and the wedding supplies we have set up. The home stretch has much less to update about that one would thing, but you know me, Ill be here babbling all the while!
Nice evites!
The Disney trip is "Post-Wedding", so, that makes it "Wedding-Related", and that means it counts!
That's Disney Logic... kinda related to Disney Math!
Love the invites! They match your colors so well. And you know any Disney planning is exciting news (even if it isn't wedding related ) So glad you'll be going back sooner than you thought. And if I had a vote...it would be Poly all the way!! You know how much we LOVED it on our trip last fall.
