As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

THURSDAY morning, we got up and headed to the MK for our breakfast ADR at Crystal Palace. We were actually scheduled an hour after everyone else, and as we were up getting our food, all the girls (and Mark) were getting up to leave. [img]/ubb/images/graemlins/frown.gif[/img] But we saw them later! [img]/ubb/images/graemlins/wink.gif[/img]
We didn't find a wait time longer than 15-20 minutes then entire day . . . and it was SO nice!!! Mike timed it on Space Mountain . . . he was in there and back out in 11 minutes!
Our bus driver was in la-la land or something when we came back in the afternoon for a rest . . . she drove almost all the way to AKL before turning around and bringing us back to Pop! [img]/ubb/images/graemlins/foreheadslap.gif[/img] Good thing we didn't have any pressing plans . . . [img]/ubb/images/graemlins/smirk.gif[/img] Anyhoo . . .
We have created a mini-adrenaline junkie!!! Emilie went on Splash (with me and Mike, Terri, Robin and her sister Sandy . . . who else was in that boat with us? We followed that up with a turn on BTMRR . . . and she loved it so much, she asked to go again!!! She rode the second time in between Marie's daughter Sarah and Terri! [img]/ubb/images/graemlins/grin.gif[/img]
We had a sorta sing-along on Pirates . . . a whole boatload full! [img]/ubb/images/graemlins/grin.gif[/img]
The big meet was a little hectic as there were a lot of people, but it was GREAT to see everyone there!!! LTT was great for dinner and MVMCP was awesome . . . well worth the extra $$$!!!
The Christmas tree used to be in Town Square, but was moved this year to the Plaza Rose Garden area nearer to the Castle!!!

We got up and headed to MK again . . . this time with mini-Cinderella! [img]/ubb/images/graemlins/wink.gif[/img] We had a bit of time to waste before our ADR, so we hit a couple of rides then headed to CRT!!! [img]/ubb/images/graemlins/grin.gif[/img] We had a 10:10 ADR, but weren't seated until 10:45 . . . and we were almost the last ones left in the lobby area!!! [img]/ubb/images/graemlins/tongue.gif[/img] Other than that, it was GREAT!!!
Emilie had the Wonderland Tea Party in the afternoon so we hung out around the GF until we dropped her off, then until we picked her up! Headed back to MK after that . . .
Bought the Splash picture this time . . . Terri has one of her first ride (I have one too, but she's got the big one! [img]/ubb/images/graemlins/wink.gif[/img]), but you really only see the side of her hood . . . this one, you see her whole face! [img]/ubb/images/graemlins/grin.gif[/img]
We dropped her at the Neverland Club at the Poly at 6pm . . . went back to the MK to catch the bus back to Pop and ended up waiting an INSANE amount of time (let's just say, I could have had a REALLY decent nap in that time! [img]/ubb/images/graemlins/smirk.gif[/img] )
Did the Adventurer's Club with a few of our friends . . . this was our first time there, and I am happy to say, it will NOT be our last!!! That place was so neat . . . and friggin' hilarious!!! [img]/ubb/images/graemlins/roflmao.gif[/img]
Like I said before . . . it was a late night!!! We were all out almost before our heads hit the pillows, I am NOT kidding! [img]/ubb/images/graemlins/snore.gif[/img]</font>

Emilie and I had breakfast at Chef Mickey's then took the monorail to Epcot (Mike met us there).
Emilie is now a Test Track and Soarin' rider!!! [img]/ubb/images/graemlins/woot.gif[/img] She did great on both and said she liked them!!!
And speaking of Soarin' . . . HOLY COW. This was, like the best thing ever in the history of best things ever!!! Amazing . . . I am really at a loss for words. So, don't skip it when you go to Epcot! We waited an hour in line but it was SO worth it!
Ate at Cantina de San Angel for dinner . . . tastiness!
Met up in Canada with Sue, Angie, Joy (GrumpyGal . . . who is NOT dead [img]/ubb/images/graemlins/wink.gif[/img] ), Robin and her sis Sandy, Cheryl and Mark, Bill and Jan for IllumiNations . . . I don't think there was a dry eye in that little corner. [img]/ubb/images/graemlins/smirk.gif[/img] The "Let There Be Peace on Earth" ending to the holiday version of Illum. is fantastic! Brought us all to tears!
Then we said goodbye . . . Angie, Tara, Sue, Donna and Bill are all headed home tomorrow! [img]/ubb/images/graemlins/frown.gif[/img]
We're heading to AK this morning, then Mike's going to ESPN Zone for an hour or so while Emilie and I go wander Epcot for a while then we've got Le Cellier for dinner! It's looking like we're doing evening EMH at MGM as well . . . another long day coming up! [img]/ubb/images/graemlins/wink.gif[/img]
Angie, Robin and me . . . (over Angie's right shoulder is Joy (GrumpyGal) ---- she hasn't posted in quite some time, but she is alive and well . . . and we can all vouch for the fact that she is not dead! [img]/ubb/images/graemlins/roflmao.gif[/img] )
