As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:

It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.

Love the title! But it is a bit misleading since you do not actually need their input! LOL!
That is loads of ADRs! You wrote you will do the DDP but you must be getting the DxDDP, right? Have you ever done a trip where you had that many ADRs? Our first trip was a GG and we had DxDDP. We usually only had 2 ADRs/day as we tried to include a signature experience most days. Even then, it felt like we were spending a lot of time moving from restaurant to restaurant--our kids got crabby!
We are talking through some details for a summer 2012 trip. We plan to get DxDDP for half of the trip and then switch resorts and go with a dining plan. Still trying to eat at no more than 2 "real" restaurants a day. Your kids must be amazing in restaurants for you to take that on!
The need was did they want to go when we know the weather has always been good or try Oct and do halloween time.
Your right I did mean DxDDP. We have done ADR's like this the past 2 years and it has worked out well. This year I did want to add more signature ones (2 credit) but the kids wanted to do all these. (well the girls) The kids eat very little at a time but seem to always be eating. We tend to order our apps and main at the same time and ask for them to be brought together then when they come we order dessert and ask for boxes. we eat a bit then box it up so the can snack in lines. We are there long enough to relax but not so long to cut into Crysta's ride time.
I have been watching the plane tickets. They are hoovering around $780-$880 for 5. Great price.
Where are you flying out of? I'm doing some research on my own and those prices are what I'm getting for 2 of us! (from CT or Westchester NY)
I love how you're coordinated but not matchy matchy. You're right, my eye did go right to your family. Love that! I may have to try and coordinate some with my princess in April!

shanmac - I fly from MHT (manchester NH) or Boston. Boston has direct flights but manchester can be cheaper. (when you add in parking,tolls and gas too, we have a friend dropping us off this again)

Thanks. Lots of people have said i have lost a lot more but I really haven't, I have gained a ton of muscle and dropped fat %. I have actually put on 3lbs.
I'm excited to do another TR but the PTR is harder, I have had everything done for sooooo long and don't need as much "research".
I had to hide any scanning here which was hard, So to keep me busy I worked 2 jobs plus my 2 was babysitting a 13month old, Trained for races and keep all over my mom and her Dr. appt. (she found out she HAD B Cancer from the first spotting to finish was 4 months). I'm down to just the one job, my kids, crazy workout and just added rock climbing, I'm affraid of heights but love the adrenaline. This month I'm going to try boxing (like Rocky boxing).
So planning stuff first.........
I convinced Hubby we needed to add a day. I told him it would save us on airfare. Adding the extra day will only cost us $228,for all 5 more then if we flew home the 10th. Girl math wins again. So I played around with our ADR's yesterday and switched them around a bit Crysta wants 2 days at HS so i switched AK with HS earlier in the week. That gives us it at the beginning and end of the trip. We are going to Do Chef Mickey's breakfast, Sci-fi lunch (might just stop at starring rolls) then dinner at 50's .......but want something outside just not sure what? any suggestions.
The reason for 2 ADR's at Coral reef. The first time we tried to go there (09') I made all my ADR's on the phone with a really nice lady we wanted lunch but for some reason she put us in for dinner there and dinner @ the spirit of Aloha? so we ate at sunshine seasons. Last year (10') I did all my ADR's online (and SIL too) I did SIL first then when I went back somehow the date reverted to the day it was making them so when I got there they had my May ADR in the computer for Feb. I found it weird because it was linked still to my hotel ressie. Two years in a row.... the manager said he would squeeze us in but it would be 90 min. NO thanks we went to Germany and got in quick. So this year I'm covering myself I set one online and one on phone. No chances here I want the chocolate wave everyone raves about.... Any other suggestion on what to get or avoid? I will try anything.
Side note......Got to love New England, we had a ton of snow then the weather decided it was time for spring. That made it rain plus melted the snow. Surprise we have a leak, well it was dripping fast enough it sounded like the shower. And now we have another cold snap hitting. 83 days 83 days.... just keep telling myself that.
Brag time... I have my 5K time down another full min. I'm at a 22min45sec. By mid march (first race) I will be ready to at least win my age group.
Up next.... The countdown continues. will travel for food.

Congratulations!!! That's awesome! I'm running my first 5K in March (since High School) I'll be thankful if I can run the whole thing and finish under 45 mins! You're amazing!!!
