Family, friends, and a Baby!! 8 is definitely enough!! POFQ 8/11-8/15 **Updated 9/21** COMPLETE - Page 3 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Thanks for all your great comments, ya'll!! I will have the itinerary posted tomorrow. I am actually quite proud of it because I think it may actually make all 7 people happy!! Go figure
Well, here I am, another itinerary nerd, and I am delaying going to bed cuz I thought there was an itinerary attached to this PTR!!!!
Let's get with it girlfriend!!
Love the pictures of everyone!! Also love hearing the back story of how a trip was originally thought of & then how plans are once everything comes to fruition.
I'm really tired (just got home from work) and am going to hit the hay as I'm making all kinds of spelling errors and correcting them......all the while nodding off for 10 minutes here, 5 minutes there.......but when I get back I want to see an itinerary, got it?
PassPorter's Free-Book to Walt Disney World It’s hard to believe anything is free at Walt Disney World; but there are actually a number of things you can get or do for little to no cost. This e-book documents over 200 free or cheap tips to do before you go and after you arrive. You could save a considerable amount of money following these tips. Perhaps more importantly; you can discover overlooked attractions and little-known details most people whiz by on their way to spend money. Click here to see free sample pages from the e-book! Get this popular e-book free of extra charges when you join the PassPorter's Club for as little as $4.95. A club pass includes access to all our other e-books; e-worksheets; super-size photos; and more! This e-book is also available for separate purchase in the PassPorter Online Store for just $5.95.
So here it is - I feel like there should definitely be some dramatic music playing in the background or some type of angels singing. It is a thing of beauty, folks. Thanks to a spreasheet emailed to me from mestitch last vacay, I have a perfect template to fill in all of our plans. It is color coded and everything. I wish I could share a picture of it, but I'm sure that would be complicated, and it would probably involve getting Rob's (RobDVC) help and lets face it, I bother him more than any woman other than Margaret (his DW) should . . . . Anywho, on with the show. . . . .
The items in red are things I could use help with or advice on -
Monday - Arrival Day
Check in approx 1pm at POFQ (our flight lands at approx 11:30am)
Either hang and swim or head straight to MK. We will see how it goes since this is yet another vacation where the day we leave it's straight from DH's night shift
We will probably have lunch at either POFQ cuz I'm sure we'll be starving, or if we head straight to MK, we will hit up Peco's Bills or Casey's
We have a 6:20pm at Chef Mickey's - so we will just hop on the monorail and head over there for dinner.
Who ever is not tired will head back to the MK for Spectro (9pm) and Wishes (10pm)
Tuesday - 8/12/08
Today is a busy day. We will grab a quick breakfast at POFQ and head straight to MK. It is MEMH, but lets face it, we ain't makin' it. . . . We can do whatever we didn't get to do yesterday and grab some lunch at CHH.
Danny, Eric, and Jimmy have a tee time of 4pm at LBV, so they will need to head back to FQ by approx 2:30pm.
Mary and I have Grand View Tea at 3:20, so we will just hop on the monorail probably at around the same time they head out and hang at the GF til tee time.
Marilyn and EJ will probably use this opportunity to go back to FQ and either nap or swim.
I cancelled the dinner ADR we originally had (Kona Cafe), because I have no clue what time they'll be done with golf.
It is Epcot EEMH, so we will either head back there for CS in the WS, or over to DTD and grab something there. (I vote for Epcot, so I'm sure the planner will prevail)
Wednesday - 8/13/08
The Beltans plan on going to US/IOA today. Personally I think it is a huge waste of money for them (not in general, just for them) because Marilyn being 7 months pregnant is probably going to be ready to go by about 1pm and they will have spent approx $300 between the 3 of them on tickets and transportation there and back. Don't you agree? Are there alot of shady places for her there? Do you think she will be okay all day there?
Danny and I have a 12:30 lunch ADR at Le Cellier. This will be our first time there. So we will be heading to Epcot today, regardless of what the Beltrans decide. I'm not sure what the Desimones plan on doing - maybe swimming and meeting up later, or maybe coming to Epcot and eating lunch somewhere else? Whatevskies. Doesn't matter to me, all I know is we are having Le Cellier!!!
After lunch, we will hang at Epcot a bit and depending on how we feel maybe take a swim break before dinner.
It's DHS EEMH tonight, so we are eating at Mama Melrose at 7:30pm and then hanging there. I don't know if we'll do Fantasmic or not. If EJ is tired, then we'll probably skip it, but if he is good to go, then we'll probably take him to see it.
Thursday 8/14/08
We will either head back to Epcot first thing today or perhaps MK. It's another MEMH at MK. I am hoping to convince someone to join me for opening ceremonies, but we'll see how it goes. If we are at Epcot, I'm hoping to have lunch at Beaches and Cream. We have a 5:15pm at Teppan Edo and then I plan on hopefully meeting up with Melissa and Andy for perhaps a BI show. Tonight I plan on having everyone stay for Illuminations. Tonight is EEMH at Epcot again, so we'll have plenty of time to accomplish everything here today. This is why I'm thinking maybe give MK a go in the morning. What do you think?
Friday 8/15/08 - Departure Day
I am hoping to get a late check out today. We have tried this twice and have been unsuccesful, so we'll see. We have a 9:30am at O'Hana. This is another first for us. We think EJ will like it here. I have no idea what we are gonna do after that. It is completely open. We don't depart til around 7pm, so I'm thinking a 4pm DME pickup. This pretty much gives us the whole day. Maybe we will take a trip to AK so EJ can ride EE. This is probably what we'll end up doing. Also, today I am hoping to meet up with Marnie (Colexismom) as I do believe today is her first FULL day on property. Hopefully we can make this happen, Marnie!!
So that's it. Not to toot my own horn, but I think it's pretty darn good. Everyone has already been told to feel free and do whatever their little hearts desire. There is no obligation. Yes, the ADR's have been made, but if your tired, hot, cranky, whatever, feel free to bail. I could care less. I understand the level of unpredictabilty when travelling with a large group, let alone one who will be 7 months pregnant, and a 7 year old, so I am not going to force anything on anyone.
As a very wise PP once said (unfortunately I can't remember if it was Jill or Tanya ) you have to put happiness in front of people and let them do with it what they wish. (maybe it wasn't exactly that, but something like that )
Up Next - Things I still need to do, that in all honestly, probably should have been done already . . . . .

I'd probably go with what you're feeling at the moment. I like some spontaneity on every trip.

If they are going to visit both parks, I think it would be easy to be there until closing. We went for the first (and only) time in August 2006. It will depend on how much EJ likes thrill rides, as IOA is loaded with them. As for the shade, I don't remember much shade, but it's been 2 years and -at the time- DH was very sick on those days. I do remember it being very hot. Staying hydrated would definitely be key and I wouldn't hesitate to rent a wheelchair if needed.

This could work; you'd probably be able to get a lot done in Fantasyland with little or no wait. I would just get the heck out of there if it became crowded.

I'd let EJ pick. It's been our tradition to kind of leave at least the last day open for Kyle to choose what he would like to go back and do. When he was 6, I think we rode Buzz Lightyear 20 times in a row before moving on to something else!
Sounds like you've got some great plans to look forward to!
I certainly hope your lunch @ LeCellier is wonderful.......
I'm sure you know this (as you've got downtime pencilled in), but taking the time to relax and "go with the flow" can make all the difference in the world. It took a few trips but I finally realized this when I was down there solo in May-and can't wait to just "hang" at the MK our first day, doing whatever mood hits us, and sitting in the courtyard waiting for Wishes to start.
If I was your pregnant friend I don't think I'd be spending $300 to go to a park where I wasn't going to be able to ride very much due to being pregnant!! That's almost a week of the dining plan for two of us!
Thanks for posting your itinerary......I hope you know I was just giving you a hard time this AM!
