As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

We saw a lot of soap stars when we were their a few years ago. It was soap week (Nov.) and they must have all been staying at the beach & yacht club with us. They were at breakfast, sitting a few table over. (Lucky from General Hospital, but now he's on something else) and a few others in the lobby and at dinners. The only one I recognized was Bachelor Bob & Greentea (or something like that). My sister is a huge soap star so that's how we knew them all.
Also, the same trip, we meet Eric Estrada in the lobby with his wife and daughter, he was exceptionally nice to us.
It was a lot of fun to know they were there!

I've never seen anyone at WDW, but Carlos Mencia was sitting behind us on the parking lot shuttle at Disneyland one time. I didn't know who he was, but Zack was all atwitter with the Comedy Central-ness of it all. We also ran into Mr. Mosby from the Suite Life of Zack & Cody in Minnie's house in Toontown at Disneyland. He didn't look to have any special tour guides with him, and actually he looked like he was by himself. Guess he's a Minnie lover like Eileen! Here's the picture we got with Zack and Mosby...
Zack and Mr. Mosby
He's really short. This pic was taken September 2006, and Zack's about 7" taller now, with about 7" less hair, and no more chubby cheeks. So the "Mosby's short" jokes on the show are WELL FOUNDED!

I've never been fortunate enough to see a celebrity myself, but many years ago a friend of mine saw JUDY GARLAND and her two younger kids at Disneyland. Sorry for the caps, but JUDY is a true Hollywood Legend!
Many years ago I had tea at the Plaza Hotel in NYC and at the table next to us were Judy Garland, Liza Minelli, and her then-fiance Peter Allen. They all looked so happy, but it was only shortly after that that Judy died.
Back on topic... I was at WDW the week the Studios opened (1989?) and there were celebrities all over the place. The only ones I saw up close were George Forman (eating a steak at BD) and Bette Middler walking out of the Great Movie Ride with her daughter.

I would have died!!!!! He is my all time favorite!!!! I saw him at the Borgata in Atlantic City last year on his tour and his whole group of comedy performers were awesome! I think I would have gotten really flushed and probably would have had a giggle fit. Oh I'm jealous
My mom rode Splash Mtn. infront of Bruce Willis. He was a jerk. She got the pic with him behind her. He actually had the nerve to ask my mom to not buy it. He didn't want her "selling it". Who the h-e-double hockey sticks would want it is my question. It just has a bunch of people looking crappy from touring the world and ugly Bruce Willis......

We saw Tom Hanks getting off of a ride at the MK and one time we were in MGM while Tiger Woods was holding some sort of luncheon for one of his charities and we saw him walking around. When we saw Tom Hanks he was just with his family, no special escort.
About 2 years ago I was watching for my husband and son to drive by while they were riding the Indy Speedway in Tomorrowland and I saw Kelly Ripa and her youngest son on the ride. i was watching for them to come around again so I could take her picture and almost missed seeing my family drive by.Oops!!
I also saw Shirley Jones(Mrs. Partridge) about 7 years ago at Disneyland.
We saw Vincent D'Onofrio (I think one of those Law and Order shows) while standing in line waiting for the Gingerbread house to open at GF. He was about 20 people in front of us
I think he is so cute.... I have a thing for older men. I love Hugh Laurie too!!! I know, I'm odd!

There's absolutely nothing wrong with that!! Hugh Laurie is just dreamy
During our most recent visit to WDW last August, we saw Christie Brinkley at MK with one of her children. I think she may have had a CM with her, but I wasn't paying that much attention! I have to say, she looks just as beautiful in person as she does on TV!

Seven trips to WDW (1975, 1982, 2005, 2006, 2009, 2013, 2014)! Next trip: Soon, I hope!
I've been jingled! Thanks Sandy!
I walked down the hall of Animal Kingdom Lodge with Chris Rock. He had his daughter on his back. He looked at me and said good morning. Now, if it was someone that I really liked(not that I don't really like him, I haven't really seen anything with him, just know who he is), I would've been dumbfounded!!!

I LOVE Vincent D'Onofrio and his show (Law & Order: Criminal Intent), and Hugh Laurie, too. Add another odd one to the list! As for my celebrity citing, I saw Rod Stewart at AKL last year. We had dinner ressies at Jiko and had just gotten off the bus, when we saw a bunch of folk outside the front doors of AKL all gathered around taking pictures. I said to DH, "That man looks like Rod Stewart." Well, duh, Judy! It was!
A few years ago we saw Eddie Money (remember him) at Epcot. He was waiting inside the American Pavillion for the show to begin. He waited in line just like the rest of us. No special escorts or guards. I think he had his family with him.
