Forums Closed
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.

So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.

Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.

And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.

We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.

There are other changes as well.

Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:

We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.

It's time to move on and move forward.

PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.

But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.

So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.

And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.

That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!

If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.

So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Best wishes for a wonderful and magical new year!

Thanks everyone. We made it safely home at 1:30 this morning. Other than Skyler having a pretty bad cough (and sadly only thing I can do is rub Vicks Vapor Rub on his feet with socks and on his chest for it to help his cough), he did give me Strep. I was miserable our last couple of days of our trip, and still am pretty miserable today.

My mom was just being very critical of me and a complete nag on everything (I really try not to fight with her and hold my tongue on calling her a control freak, but it kind of came out on this trip). I think my Grandmother and a few aunts knew I was on edge with still grieving my Papa's loss (and not really letting myself grieve or cry in front of Skyler) and with having a sick kid and then getting sick myself, being overtired, I'm sure they knew it was to be expected.

At the airport yesterday we were sitting at the wrong gate area for a couple of hours (our gate was supposed to be B7 as printed on our boarding passes), then posted on the board as B12(no biggie, but wrong airport Washingon Regan, not Dulles), and we had to hightail it to another concourse to the right gate (and still no plane when we got there).

Skyler actually fell a sleep within a few minutes of us getting to our correct gate area, and with minimal fussing on our plane ride, was actually an Angel on our flight last night. He slept from take off until a few minutes after we touched the ground. Our flight home was so peaceful (there were other babies and small children on our flight too, and not a peep from any of them). The guy sitting next to us although ignoring us, even when I appologized for Skyler being a tad fussy until he went back to sleep before take off, didn't seem too bothered, and the man sitting across the isle from us even said "I'm surprised your little one wasn't very fussy for long" with a smile. It was every adult passanger's dream, a quiet night flight home.

I did hear a very sweet story from one of my Aunts (my dad's DSIL) whom came to visit with us when we went to visit my other Grandma yesterday (Dad's Mom, the one who just lost our Papa the night before we left). She is a Preschool teacher and she does have some Autistic Students who are also speech delayed. She told me how one of the Autistic Boys in her class one day said to his mom when she dropped him off and he gave her a hug and kiss and said "Bye Mom, I love you". I nearly burst into tears hearing that, and I even said to her that I can't wait to hear that from Skyler, and I know I'll bawl my eyes out the first time I hear it come out of his mouth.

I'll leave the complaining about my mom to it just being her being a nit pick and trying to tell me how I should raise my son, and how to do things (the way she wants them). I just wish our trip wasn't Skyler getting sick and him giving it to me. We did miss spending a lot of time with our family because of it, but what can I say I was in responsible mommy mode. I do have some cute pictures of Skyler and the twins, and some visual memories to share of them with Skyler with you all. Sorry I'm still exhausted, but will share those all with you when I come back on the boards.

Sorry to hear about the issues with your mom. I guess it's hard for some to let go of the whole "parent" thing, but she has to realize it's your turn. I hope you all start to feel better and that whole airport gate thing...been there done that. Remember that's what we did when we left WDW last September?!? So you're definitely not alone.

Thank you all for all of your super sweet comments. Skyler isn't coughing today, so I think he will be ok to go back to school tomorrow (he was still coughing pretty badly yesterday and even threw up on the couch last night once before passing out at 8pm on it (don't worry it was clean and his pillow and blanket were at the opposite end when he was laying down and fell a sleep there by himself).

I'm still feeling awful. Hopefully with Erick getting off of work early today and off until going to work at 5:30pm tomorrow, he can give me a hand and play with Skyler while I sleep for a little bit.

I should also add I did remind my mom nicely, I am an adult now, and she does need to learn she can't control me anymore (I know it was hard for her to hear, but she needed to, and I have learned to stand up to my parents finally when I need to).

Besides us having a Fabulous PPer Meet, Jodi, thank you for taking us to Disney's Doorway to Dreams and letting me take the DVC Tour (remember I didn't get to take the tour on our trip to Disney). That was another hilight of my trip. We certainly enjoyed meeting you, Tim and Brianna. You and Tim is hillarious, and that pidgeon doing his business keychain in one of the stores, I'm still laughing over. Brianna is a sweetheart. Laurie from Doorway to Dreams actually called me yesterday too.

Michele, you are a sweetie too, and thank you so much again for Skyler's Mickey car you gave him. He still is having a blast playing with it.

I will certainly also say another hilight of our trip was certainly getting to meet my sister's twins Parker & Peyton. What cutie pies they are, and I miss them dearly. Skyler's Preschool Teacher's Assistant called me a little bit ago to check to see how Skyler was feeling, Survey me on some things about Skyler since they haven't had him class that long yet to really get to know him, and to let me know they're having Show and Tell soon. Hopefully my sister gives me her permission for him to share a few pictures from our trip of her boys with Skyler since the 3 of them were just precious together. For them being identical twins, we actually had an easy way to tell them apart since Parker had a black eye. Instead of having to look very closely for his dark vein in the middle of his nose, we could look for a black eye(I know it sounds horrible, bit it made it easy).

Skyler and The Twins were so cute holding hands and walking outside together, giving eachother hugs, the twins tickling Skyler while he was laying on the floor in the middle of a temper tantrum, them looking for my cousin Stephanie's cat Reyna ("Kittie, meow"), and them looking for my Grandma's Dog Lexi who was hiding from them behind a chair or couch ("puppy, puppy"). All of these things just completely melted my heart with all 3 boys together. I wish Parker & Peyton were a little more willing to get in the picture of my Grandma, my sister, Skyler, & I, but oh well, what can you do?

I hope everyone's having a wonderful day. Hopefully I can get on here a little bit more once Skyler's back in school. Saturday Skyler and I are being forced out of the house since the baseboard of our room is being repainted and so is our entire door. It didn't get done while we were gone (other than the walls being painted the grey Erick picked out which isn't too bad). At least no more of Skyler's coloring on the walls. I may go out in search of a Chalkboard for him so he can color on that and even if he colors on the walls with chalk, I know it will come off. The good news is the paint on the walls now will not show his coloring on them that badly and the walls can now be cleaned a lot better than they could with the paint that was on them previously.

Thanks so much for all of the feel better pixies. I truely appreciate all of them. Things may get a little more busy around here (sorry I'm still having trouble getting into my Photobucket account so it may be a little longer on the pictures, but they'll be worth it I promise) as Erick has found me a Work from home job that pays decently and please send some pixies that I get a job at this cute little Toy Store we have near us called Go Bananas. I went in their 2 locations yesterday in search of bath tub paints and crayons for him to play with in the tub (no such luck) and they had bath tear-free bubbles which I purchased for him. They're hiring, so I got an application and returned it today. It's not a career for me (still working on that though and school from home), but it will give me something to do while Skyler's at school, and an extra source of income(hopefully to save for a DVC Membership).

Speaking of DVC, since we took the Doorway to Dreams tour, I told Erick I took it (as well as my mom) and really Erick is interested in looking at the DVD and reading the infor about points. He did actually agree with me that it would make more sense to buy into DVC if we can either finance it or with the work from home job and or out of the home job too for me, we could save up and join.

I gave him Jodi & Tim's view of Bay Lake Tower with the view of Wishes you can have from taking a bubble bath in the jacuzzi tub, which he liked hearing, also not to mention being able to stay in a nicer location than All-Stars each trip, for less money. I did tell him we could use points on DCL, DLR, DL Paris, Tokyo, Hong Kong, Adventures By Disney, etc. and he seemed quite interested in that too (nice way to tour the world). So I will probably be popping in the DVC DVD in on Mother's Day at some point.

My mom also seemed surprised we could do that in the mall, since I told her I didn't get to take the tour while at Disney, but she seemed quite surprised for what you'd pay OOP for the Deluxe Resorts that some you can use DVC Points or in the DVC Properties have more space, a kitchen, more comfy beds than the All-Stars or Pop Century, that it would cost less (or DVC Membership would cost about the same as 2-3 Peak Season trips at a Deluxe resort).

I hope the DVD will get Erick convinced we should join DVC.

Incase I'm not on in the next few days, I hope all of my Mommy Passporter Friends have the most wonderful Mother's Day! I've had to come up with a few back up plans for either sun/rain (we're supposed to have scattered T-storms here) on what kind of fun things to make. We may turn it into a Disney Day (Disney Coloring Pages, Mickey Cookies, eating uncrustables like Disney has on the kid menu, watching Disney DVDs, playing dress up, planting Skyler's and my 1st Garden items together (I found a couple kits for Sunflowers and Tomatoes which I purchased for us to grow), maybe playing dress up, but basically anything and everything he enjoys and mom still feeling like the inner 5 year old I still can be if we don't get to go to the DC Zoo (sunny day plan) and have a picnic there.
