As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

That does save a ton of space! But I am cracking up you saved your old packing list. Though knowing you I shouldn't be surprised. Lol!
"Always prepared" my husband fell off the couch laughing at me when I pulled out not only the packing list from 2012, but also the one from 2010

I know I've already mentioned B&C, but I did have a very decent meal there with an ADR. Don't know how well they accommodate allergies...I can't remember what your family's allergens are.
Off to catch up on this PRT.
We can't do B&C because the menu is so dairy heavy...with our middle son, he's at risk for "incidental" skin contact...so if he touches the table, and someone previously spilled ice cream....he'll react.
We've talked about either bringing some food with us, and supplementing with snacks, or heading to the ESPN at the Boardwalk area before returning to the park.

19 days!!!! Or, as the youngest exclaimed at 5:30 this morning "We're in the teens Momma!"

I'm excited to not have to pack a stroller, BUT I have added 2 people to our party that we have to fit their luggage in too.
I'm excited that we are only packing 1 umbrella stroller instead of the big double Graco! We aren't quite at the stroller free point with Cullen yet, but he did walk the entire five hour zoo trip this past week.

As the youngest announced, at 5:30 this morning, "We're in the teens Momma!" with 19 days to go, we sat down again last night with our "packing discussion". Brian is concerned about fitting everything in to the Flex without adding some type of outside carrier.
Starting with our five night trip to Cleveland, I FINALLY got the pictures loaded into Photobucket (though if you're on FB, you've seen these already )
It was great to be in town during the NBA excitement, even though the Cavs didn't win it all....this year. This was taken at Dick's Sporting Goods by a publication rep for the Cavs:
[IMG][/IMG]
As I'd previously mentioned, the weather wasn't especially cooperative for a visit - in fact, this storm caused my parents' porch to flood ankle deep
[IMG][/IMG]
We did have a dry spot of weather, though it was much too cool to swim, so we went to play mini golf, then visited Sweetie's, the largest candy store house in North America. Nolan thought he was in heaven:
[IMG][/IMG]
Finally, we went to the Sky Zone (indoor trampoline) with my cousin and her son. The boys had a blast, and Nolan literally bounced off the wall (he's on the wall in the background of this picture)
[IMG][/IMG]
We returned home to some pretty sweet mail too!
Meanwhile, we took a short two night trip to visit my in-laws. This trip, we managed to have a great visit to the Toledo Zoo. It was a gorgeous 80 degrees, low humidity and dry the entire day! I'll post those pictures on the next update. The following day, we weren't lucky as it was in the 60's and rained pretty much through 1 pm. It nixed our swim plans again, but we did manage to visit the Spangler Candy Factory for a trolley tour. If you've eaten a candy cane, chances are it's come from the Spangler factory in Bryan, Ohio.
We're now home for a few days, before heading to Cleveland to celebrate the 4th of July and for a "cousins" birthday party with my California family.

How old were the boys at the time of these past trips? Just wondering since the list contained diapers.

Sorry about the weather and the flooding but it sounds like you've made the most of it.
Thanks! We've managed to escape the worst of it (just a water logged yard) around here. I'm glad we returned from my in-laws when we did. The received over 5 inches of rain yesterday and everything is really flooded.

This trip is coming up soooo fast! We typically find some way to burn off energy for the boys - even if it's a trip to the grocery store

The youngest was still in diapers, at age 2. His middle brother was 4 and the oldest was 7.
Our first trip, the boys were 5, 2 and 11 months so we had 2 in diapers.

19 days!!! Yay! Tim and Caden are at a marching band competition and they had to buy sweatshirts. At the end of June. This weather is ridiculous.
It is ridiculous...we joked about almost needing to turn on the heat last night. At least today it's going to be sunny and 75...though nowhere near our typical high of 89.

What a busy summer! Love seeing the photos of your growing boys. I know the folks on the west coast won't sympathize, but this cold weather is definitely crazy. I'm sitting here in my fuzzy Mickey bathrobe. It's in the 50s again this morning.

I know....and guess what? again.all.day.today. With the temp at 60, it isn't even a fun summer rain; it's just cold, and nasty. The kind of rain that has you changing your shoes out after every outdoor venture.
I do wish California would get some of this rain...the state really needs it. We've already logged a soggy 8 inches of rain this month (more than 7 inches over our typical June).

Some places are better than others for our guys. We did make a point of eating there with our oldest on our last trip. My husband and I "tag teamed" keeping the younger boys occupied in the pool while our oldest enjoyed a burger, fries and ice cream.
