Another August Adventure with a shot of Testosterone...TR Completed 2/19 - Page 21 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Glad you found a moment to post, Meg! How great that you've had another trip since we saw you last. I don't know how you did the walk to BC in such heat--there's not a lot of shade on that pathway, either!
Awesome to see you posting again, but sorry that life has been so busy. Sounds like a great evening at DHS. That Eeyore is well done! I love Mama Melrose's and Luke almost always gets the Penne alla Vodka.
PassPorter's Free-Book to Walt Disney World It’s hard to believe anything is free at Walt Disney World; but there are actually a number of things you can get or do for little to no cost. This e-book documents over 200 free or cheap tips to do before you go and after you arrive. You could save a considerable amount of money following these tips. Perhaps more importantly; you can discover overlooked attractions and little-known details most people whiz by on their way to spend money. Click here to see free sample pages from the e-book! Get this popular e-book free of extra charges when you join the PassPorter's Club for as little as $4.95. A club pass includes access to all our other e-books; e-worksheets; super-size photos; and more! This e-book is also available for separate purchase in the PassPorter Online Store for just $5.95.
I am so jealous that you guys got to draw an Eeyore - and that was a really impressive drawing of my donkey boy there. Love all the Photopass pics and from Fantasmic!
We were so excited when they said we were drawing Eyeore - it made me think of you

I definitely re-thought my idea once I made it to the Beach Club, it was hot. But the idea of waiting for the boat did not excite me either so I figured at least the walk would get me to my destination faster.

Glad to be back as well, I miss the boards when I don't get on to read. Slowly working my way to catch up on everyone's reports. Mama Melrose is one of our favorites and I love the penne.

We did not set our alarms today as it was going to be a lazy morning for us. I still woke up around 8 AM and so did Jasmine so we headed downstairs to pick up some stuff for breakfast. The rest of the group were slowly moving when we left so I figured they would be up and ready for the pool when I got back.
We wandered a bit and took some pictures of the early morning at the BC.
Don't remember much of what everyone ate, I know the two little ones had cereal. Jasmine I think tried the French Toast Bread Pudding and she thought it was good.
The kids went down to the pool and I finished laundry and then met them downstairs. They were all engaged in a water volleyball game with some other guests so I found myself to the lazy river, grabbed a tube and floated around for the next hour or two....it was so peaceful, I think I might of nodded out at some point. BEST MORNING EVER!!!
We spent about 4 hours or so at the pool and Jasmine and I headed up first to shower, the rest of the group headed up shortly after and showered and soon we were dressed and ready for our afternoon at the Magic Kingdom. We headed over to the Bus Stop and had maybe a 10 minute wait.
We got to the park around 2 PM, the girls grabbed a Memory Maker photo and then we stopped for some Casey's.
Then found a spot for the Festival of Fantasy Parade which was what we had all been waiting for. The girls cheated a while back and watched a video on You Tube of the parade but I would not watch. I was saving myself for the real thing and it did not disappoint.
Jasmine grabbed her camera (I was lazy on this trip) and started her picture collage of the parade
We all loved the parade - this has now become my favorite (Once Spectro ended , I have really not been a parade fan. We would stop and watch the other parades and they were cute....but I am so happy to actually look forward to a parade again.
We had dinner at 5:30 PM so I had set up one Fast Pass before dinner but we had a little time until then so we headed off to the HOP, we love this attraction but it also served a purpose, it was steaming outside and after standing in the hot sun for the parade we all needed some AC time.
Our Fast Pass was up next, Splash Mountain for all of us minus Jasmine (she went and enjoyed POTC). Me and the two girls shared a seat so we kind of overshadowed the guys in the back....but they are there
We then headed out of the park and did a quick walk over to the Contemporary for dinner at The Wave.
We had Matt as our server, he was amazing. The kids really enjoyed him and he just made our meal so relaxing.
We started off with a Magical Star Cocktail - I don't like mixed drinks but Jasmine wanted to try it so I offered to share. This is so fruity, you almost forget that you are drinking alcohol (we is soooo dangerous as you just want to keep drinking them)
Jasmine and I split the Black Bean Chili with Cornbread as an appetizer and Leeor had a Salad.
The rest of the crew I think snacked on bread, they brought Angel some Tapioca Rolls which she loves so she was in heaven.
Everything looked amazing, it was so hard to choose. Leeor ended up going with the chicken that had a Blackberry BBQ Sauce and was served with Roasted Potatoes and greens. Alexa and Angel shared an abbreviated version of the chicken, it was more than enough for the two of them. They both eat like birds. Everyone enjoyed this.
Jasmine had the Pork Tenderloin that was served with a potato puree and greens- she said this was amazing.
I had the Filet with Potato Puree with Green Beans, again another winner.
I can't seem to find the picture of Hugo's meal but he tried the Lobster Ravioli (he loves seafood) and he scrapped his plate clean.
You would think we would not have any room for dessert but we made room. Jasmine and Leeor shared the Creamy Indulgence Trio.
Hugo helped me share my liquid dessert - Godiva Flight. This is pure heaven.
The girls had make your own ice cream. I think they might have both had soy. You can definitely say Alexa is a true best friend as over the years she has taken a liking to Angel's soy milk and ice cream and basically enjoys it over regular milk.
Finally full we dragged ourselves out of the Wave. The meal was a perfect 5 for us all. Not one complaint at all. Everything was delicious . I have to say that we have never had a disappointing meal at The Wave, it is always top notch each time we visit.
The boys were tired, they definitely are not used to the full days at Disney that we put in, plus after hours in the sun this morning at the pool they were both ready to drop so they headed back to the resort, enjoyed the arcade for a bit and the girls and I set off for our Girls Only Evening.
The girls stopped for some photos as evening approached the Magic Kingdom.
We then headed down Main Street for some fun, the castle just looked so beautiful with the changing sky.
We headed through Fantasyland on our way over to Frontierland.
Our next two Fast Passes were for Big Thunder Mountain Railroad and then the Haunted Mansion. This was the first time Jasmine rode BTMRR at night and she loved it. After our ride on the Haunted Mansion we were able to get another Fast Pass, the girls wanted Winnie the Pooh so we grabbed that as headed over to Gaston's Tavern as Jasmine wanted to try one of the Cinnamon Roll, not sure how she has the room to try this but it was on her list.
She tried a few bites, she found it ok and then saved the rest for later to bring back for Leeor.
The girls decided to take a seat as we waited for her snack.
We finished the evening off with Winnie the Pooh, The Mad Tea party, a few rides on Buzz Lightyear and the People Mover. It ended up being a great Girls Night out for us and when we got back to the hotel the boys were relaxing. They had gone to the arcade, played a game of pool by the quiet pool and ended up watching some TV.
We finished up a last laundry, the packing and then everyone hit the sack. Tomorrow was our last day and the girls had some last minute shopping to do

Hey there....welcome back . As always, you managed to fit a ridicuous amount of experiences within a day. Love the Eeyore drawing....that is one we have never done nd despite my awful artistic endancies...we hit the Animation class often. Glad you had a great room at the BC and not at the end of some long and winding hallway. Love your meal at the Wave...definitely one of our family favorites and a great respite from the chaos of the MK.

What an awesome evening! You have me very excited about The Wave as we have it booked for our final meal on our May trip. Now just to decide what I want to eat.
A really great day! I love the food at The Wave. My former favorite server at Sanaa (his name escapes me right now) is currently the manager at The Wave and I'm glad to hear he's doing such a good job!
What a lovely relaxing start to the day! I love how you were able to do that, then you could still pack so much else into the rest of the day. The sky over the castle was beautiful in the evening light.
Yeah, that sky over the castle was beautiful! And Jasmine managed a smile or two. Dinner sounded good. Girls night out, or boys night in, sounded good to me!
Glad to see you back updating this TR! It's tough at times as I haven't updated my WDW TR from April in two weeks!
Looked like a fun time in the MK with some great attractions and a good meal at Mama Melrose's (DS) and The Wave a the CR. Never been to MM's as there is so much great Italian food hear in CT and surrounding areas. I've been to Tutto Italia. I liked it, but not overwhelmed by it as some are here. Venture to the NY/NJ/CT area and you'll have some real Italian food. Haven't tried Via Napoli for the same reason. Pizza prices are a bit ridiculous there!
I ate at The Wave once and the food was pretty good, but they had only been opened about a week when I was there. Service was a bit off too. Will give them another chance as it's been a few years and I hear a lot of good things about it!
Can't believe those 20 something guys were that tired after a day in the parks! I could see if they were 20+ years older, but they're not! They need to work on their stamina as they look fit!
