Be Our Guest, Be Our Guest and MVMCP! - Page 2 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Great start. DW and I went in November (week after Thanksbiving) several years ago. Packed for warm weather but ended up buying hoodies and long sleeve tees before the week was over. I do not remember the temps or crowd levels.
We went the same week you are in 09. We dressed in shorts and t-shirts almost everyday. We swam everyday as well. It topped 90 while we were there. We are from Cleveland so we aren't used to warm weather in November. We had to buy shorts for one member of our party, not easy to do. We LOVED the low crowd levels, even TSMM was only a 20min wait!!!

WOW.....getting super psyched about this upcoming trip! Just realized.....we have done MANY Disney trips but if all goes as planned we will conquer 5 (FIVE!!!!) new things in this trip! Whoooo Hooooooo!!! Can you say 'Tinkerbell Pixie Excited'!?!?!?! I am sooooo ready for this. The five new things we look forward to are:
1. "Be Our Guest" Restaurant (Yep, we scored opening day, opening time!)
2. "Fantasy Land" (well, the parts that are open when we go)
3. "Osborne Lights"
4. Drum Roll here.......biggest, most exciting....."Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party".
5. Christmas Parade at AK
I don't really remember hearing much about Osborne Lights. I know it is one hour after DHS closes per the web site. Park closes at 8, OL starts at 9. So, how does that work, do you have to leave the park and re-enter? It says you don't need any extra tickets? I would really appreciate anyones disney knowledge on this one.
I will post up to the minute pics of everything as it happens on FB, just easier for quick uploads, and of course here when I can get on the computer. So if you are not already on my FB and want to see it just PM me and I will add you.
Here is a brief rundown of our plans. I don't see any conflicts but if you notice any please speak up!
Nov 14th: Arrive late, get to POP and unpack. I think the plane lands at appx 10:40, the magical express to POP.....so I figure about midnight before we are in the room.
Nov 15th: This will be an MK day.
Explore Fantasy Land!!
1:20 ADR at Crystal Palace
And Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party!!
Nov 16th: AK day (Cheyennes Fave park....she is such a Lion King fan!)
Tusker House breakfast at 10:35am
Will be sure to take in Festival of the Lion King since there is rumor of it being moved.
Nov 17th: EPCOT
Akershus at 10:45 am (which was requested by my dd, makes me so happy she is still wanting to do the princess thing!
Soarin and then fast pass it. So wishing that Test Track would be open. Definatly will do the Ellen/Energy ride.
Nov 18th: DHS
50's Prime Time Cafe
as many shows of American Idol as we can catch!!
The Beauty and the Beast show!!
Nov 19th: MK
Be Our Guest at 4pm!! Opening Day, right when they open!!!!
Nov 20th: Unknown park, depends on the weather we got while at AK, if we were able to do everything. My vote here is another Epcot
day.
Chef Mickey's at 7am.....concerned about how we are going to get there tho with no car. Help?!?!
1900 PF at 4:20p May cancel but Chey really wants to do it. Just won't be the same without Brent there.
Nov 21st: MK
Be Our Guest.....yes again. It says they have three dining rooms. Hoping to at least see 2 different ones.
I also want to see Gastons Tavern if that is open.
Nov 22nd: Heading home. On Thanksgiving Day. Expecting the airport to be bare.
So that is a short recap of what the plans are. Hoping for lots of pool time but with this time of the year who knows what the weather will bring.
Would love opinions.......if you see any conflicts or anything we left out, feel free to jump in and say something! I would appreciate it.
Did you mean Christmas paradae at MK not AK ? Or does AK do a Christmas theme too ? I thought Osbourne Lights turned on at 6 ish and people say you can see them up to about an hour after the park closes since you don't get "kicked" out of the park right away.
All your new experiences will be new for me too in December. Well...except for the awesome Be Our Guest experience.

Trip sounds magical!
AK has a Christmas parade too.....isn't that awesome?!?!?!?
Maybe you are right about Osborne Lights....all the calendar says is Osborne Lights 9pm, that would make much more sense.
You aren't going to do Be Our Guest?!? Why? Even if you can't get ADR's this late I heard they are doing counter service lunch.....maybe that would be an idea?
Thanks so much for the heads up! Hope you have a great trip too!!
If Be Our Guest does counter service we will be there! It's my DD's favourite Disney movie. But I was unable to get a reservation anytime for the whole week we are there. I keep checking though
We are getting to go to BOG for lunch since it is a counter service. I didn't see enough at the supper menu for my picky little eater. I have one that eats everything and one who eats nothing, but hamburgs. I can't wait to go in 40 days. I hope to take both of my girls on their own trip when they are older.
