As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:

It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.

The names are getting very unique that is for sure.
See, I would never put Camden and the Oriels together since I am not a baseball fan
BUT that name is kinda universal. You don't have to be a sports fan, or anything to see that it is just wrong and i don't even want to google it LOL.
We met a boy whose name is Banjo. I guess it is pretty popular in Australia. But here, it is pretty unusual.
I agree though with the others, that is just mean. The dad should step in. That boy is going to have to be a fighter. However, if he makes it big on tv or politics, I bet we will all remember hearing it here
I really hope she reconsiders. I still remember being teased about Olive Oyl and Popeye and how upset I would get. To this day some people still comment when I first meet them. It is hard enough for kids today without having a name that will be easy to make fun of.
I heartily agree that people need to think of possible cruel taunts other kids may come up with for their child's name when they're considering an unusual one. That kind of hurt can affect the kid's attitude about him or herself for much of childhood and beyond.
At least, being named Dorothy, I only had to endure the teasing once a year when "THAT movie" had been on tv. A kid with a bizarre name is going to hear meanspirited jokes and remarks all year round.
If your friend must name her child this, the least she could do is to make it a middle name. I sincerely hope that she reconsiders and goes with a more typical first name.
Reminds me of a landlord I once had whose daughter's name was Gidget. Yeah. Her mother loved the Gidget movies so that's what she named the poor girl. Had I been the girl, I'd have changed my name as soon as I was legally old enough to do so!

DH's niece wanted to name her DD an unusual name. Many of us tried to convince her not to give her DD the name. Finally, I sat down with her and told her what would happen as soon as DD got to middle school. She said she never thought about that and decided Gabriella was a much better name than Love.
I know a boy named Blue Berry Hill. His last name is Hill, btw. Everybody calls him Blue. Not sure what the parents were thinking. My oldest DD went to kindergarten with a boy named Elvis and another boy named Michael Jackson.
I try not to judge when it comes to name of children. We have a Autumn Rose, a Liberty Starr, and a Savanna Rayne. Yes, we did think about what people would think. In the end we still liked the name. You wouldn't believe the looks when we introduce Liberty to people. Some thinks its wonderful.....others say "what did you say" Granted "Dinkle" Is not high on my list nor would it be. But my father was named after his uncle "Amos" imagine how that was.

While your girls names are unusual and unique, off the top of my head there's nothing that jumps out at me as being "tease-able". Are they different? Sure. Are they Dinkle? Not a chance. Your girls names are that -- REAL names. Dinkle sounds like something made up. Slang. And google will prove it.
I still am not sure where someone would even come up with that name, and I'm not sure what husband agrees and says "YES! I want to name my unborn son, DINKLE!!!"
