As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

That is exciting about going to WDW at Christmas. Where did you stay last time and do you have any pictures? We love the decorations at Christmas time.
We stayed at CBR last time for Christmas, we had a little Christmas tree we put up iin our room and Santa came too! He had a hard time keeping quiet in the small room but he was able to fill stockings and leave gifts for my boys
undetected yes we have tons of photos I will have to pull some up and post them (if I can figure out how ) . I agree the decorations at Christmas are so beautiful, I can't wait to be there again!

We love WDW!!! I know what is not to love? So glad to find there are more Disney crazy people out there like me!
Oh my goodness these summer breaks have me running around like crazy! We were out of town for a few days for my family reunion my sister took my youngest DS to the local pool there and I guess he put on quite a show! My sister said she was sitting there watching her hubby and their daughter when the lifeguard looked at her laughing and directed her attention to the diving board where my son was doing what he does best making everyone laugh with his dance moves...he was doing his robot moves then broke out into a little greased lightning, then added the sprinkler along with the shopping cart moves then proceded to put on his imaginary sunglasses and bow all before jumping into the pool! He is such an entertainer always has everyone in stitches without even trying most times. Having SID/SPD he still sure knows how to have a little fun when he is sure there will not be any strangers touching/brushing up against him.
It is hot hot hot here in Illinois! My poor DH has to work outside in this heat so they have been letting them head home by noon the past few work days and he heads straight for a dip in our pool to cool off, my boys love having Dad home during the day I really enjoy the extra family time with him too . Update on weight loss DH up to 13# lost I am only at 6#lost.
I am still trying to get our ADRs booked...here is what we have so far:
Sat. day of arrival 5:15 dinner at Chef Mickey's (first time for us)
Sun. Qs breakfast not sure where yet then 3:45 dinner Hollywood and vine with Fantasmic! (Fantasmic is another first for us)
Mon. Qs breakfast then 6:05 dinner Biergarten/ candle light procession (my youngest loves the dancing here and DH and DS12 love love love the cheesecake)
Tues. 9:20 breakfast at The Crystal Palace (our favorite place for breakfast kiddos love Pooh's puffed french toast) Then QS late lunch/early dinner (hoping to book Wishes dessert party this night.
Wed. Nothing booked yet open to suggestions
Thurs again nothing booked yet
Fri. 10:05 Tusker House Breakfast Late lunch/early dinner QS second choice for Wishes Dessert party.
Sat. QS Wolfgang Pucks (this is a tradition for our family on our last day before we depart WDW until the next trip )

Great start! Don't worry, it's never too early to start a Disney PTR. Great adrs so far! How great that you get to spend Christmas at the most magical place!
Sounds like a great trip has been planned. I would love to stay at WDW through Christmas, but I don't think I could handle the crowd levels. We have been twice the second week of December and that was good.
Your ADR's so far look great. I have never been to CP. I hope to rectify that when we go back.
Thank you everyone for following along...have I mentioned how thankful I am to have such Disney crazy friends like me? I love when I am missing the magic I can jump on here and take a trip with all of you and learn so much along the way too!
Well we have had a little break in the heat for a couple days, but it will be back again today, not that I am complaining one bit I would rather be hot than cold!
Some changes to our ADR list, here is the new list:
Sat: No change still Chef Mickey's
Sun: no change still Hollywood and Vine with Fantasmic
Mon: 9:55 Breakfast at 'Ohana's
Tues: Christmas morning breakfast at Crystal Palace
Wed: 5:20 dinner Crystal Palace ( I know these are back to back CP but we do love it, hoping to get ADR for Be our Guest when the reservations open up. We are are planning on being at MK the day after Christmas because in our past expierences MK is not very busy this day.)
Thurs: 5:50 dinner at Biergarten
Fri: 10:05 Breakfast at Tusker House (another family favorite)
Hoping we do not regret our ADR changes. Still hoping to get Wishes Dessert party ADRfor Mon or Tues night. AND still hoping for a pin to save at least a little something since we are paying rack rates for our trip ugh lots of money but so totally worth spending Christmas with my little famly in WDW!
Weight loss update DH up to 15# gone! He is awesome I am so proud of him!! I am staying steady at 7# gone but I will take it!
I have already starting packing ...I know it is way early but I can't help myself...I have my Disney bag and when I think of something we might need I pick it up and put it in there, I will save the suitcase packing for closer to our trip. My boys already have all their clothes for our trip except for a few Disney inspired shirts.
I did find a great bargin on a Muppets shirt for my youngest so cute and a steal at under $3.00! He spotted it and said "I need that to wear at HS!" I love him he thinks just like his Mama

Not much planning getting done at the moment, kind of sad summer is ending and school registration is in two days BUT that also means our trip is getting closer! My son started football practice Monday which means the waiting will start to fly by now! I love love love to watch my DS play sports and football is my favorite The season usually seems to fly by but keeping us super busy until the end which is right around Halloween so then only about 5 weeks more of waiting after that!!!
I am seriously considering surprising my family with MVMCP tickets for our first night in town. We do not offically check in to our ressort until the morning after we arrive so we will not have park tickets. Can someone help me out on this? Do we need a park ticket to attend the Christmas party or are the party tickets all we need for that night? I think I read this somewhere just can't find it again. Also our oldest is 12 will he bored out of his mind at the party? Our youngest and I have watched the youtube videos and he would love it (mom would love it too) Hot chocolate, cookies, and snow on main street how could we go wrong?
