Forums Closed
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.

So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.

Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.

And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.

We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.

There are other changes as well.

Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:

We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.

It's time to move on and move forward.

PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.

But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.

So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.

And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.

That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!

If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.

So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Best wishes for a wonderful and magical new year!

Good Luck.

I love True Lemon, I use it in my water all of the time. It's all natural and has no added sweeteners, basically it is just crystallized lemon. It also comes in lime, orange and grapefruit. They also make iced tea and lemonade drink mix. Both are all natural and low calorie (5 per serving), it is sweetened with Truvia. The lemonade is good (both regular and raspberry), I've never tried the iced tea.

We use only the Crystal Light Pure lemonade mix, it is made with Truvia, a natural plant based sugar. No Aspartame because that stuff is really really bad for us. I use a 1/2 packet of the CL Pure lemonade per bottle of water, I don't even miss the soda that I gave up last year when this product came out. Good luck

I just picked up some today in the Berry Flavour. They didn't have it in the sweet tea flavour. It is very very yummy!! Wow. I was so surprised and impressed. I want to try some other flavours too. I can imagine they will sell out here very fast. Thanks for the tip

I've gotta get some of this Mio flavoring for water...it sounds easy and like the kids would like it as well. We all need to get several bottles of water down a day, it might as well taste good.

We live out of town, so I bought some today when I was in. I put a squirt into my bottled water and shook it up. It had amazing punch to it. Give it a try and let us know what you think.
How do you make old fashioned sun tea? I used to make it at one time, but I have totally forgotten how. Do I need to boil the water first? or do I let it sit in the sun for a few days

I hate water. Makes my stomach queasy early in the day and can't touch the stuff until after noon.
I have gotten mint food flavoring in the baking area of the grocery story and put in a drop or two in my water. I have been able to find spearmint and peppermint. You can mix to taste and it is quite refreshing. Good luck finding a way enjoying the "boring" water.

That's a really good alternative! I've looked around but haven't found it in the grocery stores over here yet. I did buy several kinds of tea (as tea bags) to try. So far I really like apple tea. I boil a liter of water at a time, add two tea bags, then put it in the fridge until it's nice and cold. I don't even mind putting a teaspoon of regular sugar in it as that's still better than any artificial sweeteners.

TrueLemon looks good! They use stevia which is a sweetener but at least it's a natural one.

Wow, what an unusual idea! Not sure if I'd like my water mint-flavored but worth a try.

I love plan water but that wasn't always the case!
My secret to learning to love it was to set goals for myself. First up was to drink one x 750ml bottle per day (I now drink 4 x 750ml bottles). I make sure it is handy and drink small sips frequently. If I am travelling and the water foul tasting I like to add TANG crystals (full of sugar and a little Vit. C) otherwise I purchase bottled. At home it's cold filtered tap water.

just put plain water in a glass jug and add teabags and let sit in the sun. It should only take a couple hours on a sunny day.

I also make tea by putting a big pyrex measuring cup (4 or 5 cups) full of water with a couple tea bags in the microwave for about 4-5 minutes till nice and dark. Then I dilute it over ice and add cold water if it is still too strong.

I think I'm going to have to try the mint flavoring too!

Thankyou!!! I remember drinking sun tea when I was in the USA and it just tastes better somehow. But I am going to have to wait for that sun to show up. Honestly, it feels like I haven't seen it for soooo long. Been dark and gloomy here and I need my sunshine.
I got the Tetley infusions..not my favourite but I will drink it. I still like the Mio water and i don't like artificial sweetners normally and I just use this as a treat. Speaking of which, do you realize it is in most gum now????
Still trying to find a non artificial sweetned drink that I like that is lower in calories. It shouldn't be this difficult!!!!

Thanks for starting this thread

I love water, especially if it is really cold. For special times, I add citrus fruit slices.

I have always enjoyed seltzer and my kids were raised on seltzer and fruit juice as an alternative to soda. I have really cut back as part of my austerity program and find that when I have it once or twice a week rather than 2 liters almost every day, I enjoy it more.

I like the peppermint idea and may try growing my own.

I love water with a little natural lemon juice. I buy a bunch of lemons each week, juice them, and keep the juice in the fridge. (In a WDW refillable mug, no less. for easy pouring) Then, when I grab a bottle or glass of water, I pour a little lemon in (just about 1/2 or 1 tsp). It definitely makes the water go down easier. I drink only water except for 1 diet caffeine free soda w/ dinner. Natural lemon juice also has lots of health benefits.
